I have tried so many shampoos, it’s bordering on some sort of sickness haha 😉 Probably have tried every shampoo offered at Whole Foods, sls free just doesn’t agree with my hair at all. Rich creamy protein shampoos are awful for my hair too so I stick with simple formulas because I just need my hair and scalp to be clean and fresh. This shampoo is just right. Smells great and gets the job done without drying out my double processed platinum blonde hair. I follow up with a rich conditioner like Davines LOVE (HG status for life!!) or the new Garnier Whole Blends in the coconut water & vanilla or avocado oil & shea butter and my hair is shiny, smooth and feels really healthy. Would definitely repurchase.

Well, I tried those creamy shampoos for a few days BUT the buildup sucked.
I had this conditioner, loved the fragrance, so I got the shampoo (along with my Neutrogena Anti-Residue). I’m impressed and I like it better than Suave. The fragrance is so light and clean. So is my hair. Didn’t take much to get the buildup out FINALLY. I would use this either as a daily or clarifier. I noticed Suave Clarifying was making my skin itch, so despite it’s cleaning power, I had to ditch the bottle.
VO5 is gentle and non-irritating. My scalp doesn’t itch and I don’t have a rash from scratching my neck where the Suave left dry skin behind.
Definitely a good option for bargain shoppers!
One thing: the cap is flimsy so if you travel, put tape over it.

after using herbal essences color me happy (not for color treated but just for the smell) for a few months I started to notice that it wasnt removing the build up in my hair so I went to the store looking for something better to use. I had used herbal essences drama clean in the past and was going to use it again but I saw this for 99 cents so I decided to try it and I am glad I did, it worked just as well as the drama clean but for less then half the price and smells just about the same too infact the smell of this is stronger (not in a bad way at all) I will say though if you have really dry hair like me it does seem to dry it out a bit more but its nothing a good conditioner wont fix. I will be buying this again and I will even try some of the other V05 shampoos

Besides the fact that it was cheap, i have nothing good to say about this product, it dried my hair out so completely and my hair felt so gross strawish after.

So cheap how can we complain about this! I use it around once a week to clarify. I will not be using it for a few weeks after I get my color done next week, I was told it works well at taking color out.

I was really excited about this product, and I had such high hopes for it. I am known in my circle of friends as the tea lover, as a habit since I was a child, I drink tea twice a day. I also love fresh scents, like the cucumber-melon-y fresh scent this shampoo has.
I bought this and the Calming Chamomile Conditioner purely based on smell. I like trying VO5 products; they are hit-or-miss, but I find that their moisturizing formulas really do work to gently cleanse but leave it oil-free and bouncy, perfect for spring/summer seasons when your cleansing needs to be more thorough.
I expected too much out of this. The first thing that really surprised me was the lack of lather. My other VO5 staple, Strawberries & Creme, gives me an incredible lather. I know lather has no bearing on how well something cleanses, but I feel that this shampoo is mediocre at cleaning, at best. On the plus side, the shampoo gives my newly shorn hair incredible bounce and, combined with the conditioner, my hair is very soft and shiney. I used it when my hair was long, too, and it made my waves come out more, which was nice. So two lippies for working under two different conditions. And the scent is wonderful, so one and a half lippies for that. And a half a lippie for not destroying my hair and scalp like that dreadful Kiwi-Lemongrass scented one in this line.
I said I’d repurchase, but I’m going to try Dove’s Cool Moisture Shampoo first because I think it has the same scent and might be more moisturizing. If I did repurchase, I’d probably just use this for a hand soap or something, because the scent is just so fresh and lovely. After I finish this bottle, though, for the rest of the summer, I’m going back to my staple, the Strawberries & Creme.

I decided to try this ‘poo based on the price point alone: $1.29 at Rite-Aid! For such an inexpensive product, it’s definitely not half-bad. I have very thick hair that can get a bit dry sometimes, and I like how good a job this shampoo does at cleaning my hair. However, it seems to bring out some flakies, which I don’t like…I’ll probably stick to Alberto VO5 for the price, but just try a different formula next time. Would recommend to gals with oilier hair that aren’t looking for anything fancy.

I love this! It’s dirt cheap, and works well. I have dry hair, but as long as I use a good conditioner, it doesn’t matter what kind of shampoo I use.I have the green tea shampoo, and I love the smell. I have already repurchased.

My hair has been acting strange–first it’s dry, then it’s oily, then it’s limp, then it’s puffy..annoying. So on a puffy day I went to rite aid and looked around at the shampoos, for what seemed like an hour. I sniffed almost every cheap bottle of shampoo and came across this one. Smelled nice, ok..but is it the right shampoo for my hair? Smoothing, aha..just what I need (for today anyway). When it came time to shower, I got excited. I’m weird and get excited over new things, i.e. shampoo, soap, toilet paper, etc. This shampoo has the best lather ever, and it isn’t hard to wash out either. The smell isn’t too heavy, and it didn’t leave my hair feeling waxy and crunchy. So next time I need shampoo and my hair is puffy…I’m off to get some alberto.

I found this to be very moisturizing. Cant believe its so cheap. Lathers big time. Smells really light. Great bottle very easy to handle in the shower cause its not all big and bulky.
