So I picked this up at Walgreens because they had this brand buy one get one 50% off. I love love love this shampoo and the fact that instead of water being the main ingredient, they choose to substitute with aloe. I does help with frizz, but let’s talk about the SMELL. If you go to purchase this, just pop the top and smell how great the scent is! After I get done washing my hair my bathroom is left with a vanilla scent, plus whenever I blow dry my hair it’s so super shiny, so it works! 🙂 I would repurchase!

Ok YES. My hair is medium-long, medium thickness, naturally dark reddish-brown (I’m not dying it right now), tangle-prone, and somewhere in between straight and wavy. I have to switch up shampoo and conditioners often because my hair gets used to them after a while and the efficacy of the products decreases. This hair care combo is a dream come true. The shampoo and conditioner are both thick in consistency. The shampoo lathers and cleans well. I find the conditioner to be moisturizing and restorative. My hair feels soft and smooth when I use these, looks shiny and healthy, and doesn’t feel weighed down. The scent is heaven-sent, like vanilla bean ice cream. The first ingredient is interestingly enough aloe leaf juice (rather than water), which I appreciate. I will repurchase both the shampoo and the conditioner unless/until they stop working for me. They make an oil mist in the same product line that I’d really like to try too.

I have both the shampoo and conditioner from this range and I love them both.
The shampoo gets my hair clean, but doesn’t strip it or leave it dry. The fact that it’s sulfate free and the first ingredient is aloe likely helps with this.
The conditioner (which I leave on for five minutes) hydrates my hair without weighing it down. I get far less frizz, and my thin, fine hair is considerably more manageable.
Both the shampoo and conditioner smell AMAZING. The packaging is sturdy and looks nice.
These are around $8 at Target, and they both last me around two months before I need to repurchase. I have longer hair, and I wash it every day as it’s rather oily. Seems like good value for money.

Meet my favorite drugstore duo: Maui Moisture Smooth & Repair Vanilla Bean Shampoo along with its companion conditioner. My stylist has been adding highlights and lowlights to my hair, which looks great, but makes my hair prone to dryness. Maui Moisture has many scents and formulas. I chose Vanilla Bean primarily for the scent, but I was impressed by how healthy it made my hair look and feel.
PROS:
1. This cleans without stripping. Most shampoos list water as the first ingredient. This one features aloe vera juice as the main ingredient. It also contains coconut water and kukui nut oil to make hair soft and shiny. I don’t get frizzies when I use this shampoo and conditioner together.
2. Smells great.
3. Available at many drugstores, a thirteen-ounce bottle of shampoo is less than ten dollars.
4. Vegan and Cruelty free
5. No sulfates; gentle on hair. (Sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate is not a sulfate.)
6. Makes the hair silky without employing silicones.
CON:
Probably not great for oily scalps looking for a deep clean. (This is designed for dry, damaged hair needing to restore moisture.)
I bought the shampoo and conditioner at Walgreen’s during a buy-one-get-one-half-off promotion. Ulta carries some Maui Moisture products but I haven’t seen this particular shampoo at Ulta.
Would definitely repurchase!
