This smells like a creamsicle which is lovely. It is thick and rich and even though it is dulfate free gives a nice lather. My hair feels clean and soft after i use it. I. Purchased tne liter at. Ulta and it is lasting forever. I really like it

I work at Ulta and have tried all the high end shampoo brands and I can tell you that this stuff is awesome! Yes, this is the old packaging/old formula but the new formula is dead on the same. I have long brown fine/thick hair,,,that means each piece is thin but I have a ton of it. Therefor my hair is heavy and goes flat and fuzzy all the time. This stuff is great in the winter when it is so dry and excellent in the summer to keep the frizzes away. You gotta use it with the matching conditioner! In Jan and July Ulta has a liter sale, normally the liters of this are over $50, during this sale they are $22.99. They are worth every penny and will last you 6 months to a year per bottle for most people. Mine last me 6 months but I also have long hair. I am on my 5th bottle! I’ve let all of my friends try this stuff and they ALL have fallen in love with it. I also like Alterna Caviar, Liviing Proof,,but they are never on sale!

UPDATE JULY 2015: Ok so with the new packaging, THIS shampoo (I don’t know about the others) has been reformulated a bit. I can’t list all the differences, but they have added coconut oil. I have not tried the new packaging / new formula for this shampoo yet. My review is based on the the pre-summer 2015 packaging / formula. I compared the ingredients from my old bottle to the new ones listed on Ulta’s website. Colour Savour has not changed formula. This one has. I am not sure of the others.
Here are the new ingredients for the updated formula:
Water (Aqua, Eau), Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Coco-Betaine, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Trideceth-7 Carboxylic Acid, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Glycol Distearate, Quaternium-91, PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, PEG/PPG-120/10-Trimethylopropane Trioleat, Lauret-2, Amodimethicone, Cetrimonium Chloride, Trideceth-12, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, PEG-4 Rapeseedamide, Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Prunus Serotina (Wild Cherry) Bark Extract, Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Extract, Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Achillea Millefolium Extract, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Panthenol, Sodium PCA, Ethylhexyl Ethoxycinnamate, Fragrance (Parfum), Tetrasodium EDTA, Stearic Acid, Citric Acid, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: So after I realized the AG Colour Savour had a lot of proteins in it and that starts to mess with my fine locks after a while, I tried the Smooth shampoo. For a smoothing shampoo, it is nice and didn’t completely flatten my fine waves. BUT, it can get a bit heavy too sometimes. I think it just depends on weather, water of the location, the conditioner I use with it, status of my hair, etc. Just like Colour Savour…it isn’t perfect and I would NEVER pay full price for this. I usually get this at the Ulta liter sale (July & December). This time I picked up the old packaging on clearance. They are repackaging and Ulta had the old packaging marked on clearance…cheaper than you can get at the Liter sale! I always keep all other aspects of my routine the same when I try a new shampoo. This was NOT used with the matching conditioner…that would have flattened my fine waves. I am pretty sure this did a good job of maintaining my color as well and like the Colour Savour is Ph balanced.

To be fair, I received this as a sample. So I can’t assess the packaging or price per volume really. That really doesn’t matter. This is probably the first shampoo (and conditioner too) that I have been impressed with in a long time. The bonus is that it is sulfate free! This shampoo is totally suited for my thick, curly, and frizzy hair. I washed my hair with this, and followed up with the conditioner, and applied my usual Paul Mitchell Super Skinny balm before blow-drying. I didn’t even need a flat-iron to finish. I was pleasantly surprised at how much it actually helped to smooth my hair. It really did make the styling/drying process a lot less stressful. Not to mention how nice and silky my hair felt even after drying (frying) it with the blow dryer. I should also mention, that for a sulfate free and argan based shampoo, it does lather pretty well, it also smells delicious..like a creamsicle.

This has a light orange creamsicle scent and is very thick, so you don’t really have to use a lot to get it to lather. It is very concentrated and is perfect for my 3b hair without being too heavy. It cleans well and isn’t drying. It cost me twenty bucks, tax included, for a 8 oz bottle. The matching conditioner came in a tube. It reduces frizz for me and doesn’t dull my hair with continued use. It would be a good choice for those with coarse or thick hair that is dry. It does help to smooth the cuticle and I like that it doesn’t make my curls droopy.

This shampoo & conditioner are very expensive ($50 a bottle each)….but they are AMAZING. Got to get them on sale. This shampoo/conditioner leaves my hair silky, soft, smooth, frizz-free, & way more manageable. For reference, I have naturally curly/wavy hair that I almost* always straighten, so a good smoothing shampoo & conditioner are vital for me. This product is really great at guaranteeing me a good hair day. With a lot of hair products, you find that the effect you get from them in the beginning, starts to wear off with time. This shampoo/conditioner actually continously works the same/gives the same effect each time I use it. (but you should still rotate using different hair products to maintain the effectiveness of all products). Overall, I am very pleased with these products….EXCEPT for the price of course. Although I love this, the fact that they are $50 a pop each will most likely stop me from re-purchasing in the future. (They do sell smaller bottles that are $20 each, but with my hair I will use that up in no time.) So, the bigger bottles are a better overall deal…but I still wouldn’t consider that a “deal.” If you’re Jlo & you have money to blow, these are great products! They are also cruelty-free if that is a concern for you.

This is my HG shampoo!
It smells amazing, cleans well and doesn’t dry out my hair- in fact its very moisturizing but doesn’t weigh my hair down ( and I have fine hair that goes about 2 inches past my shoulders). I use this in conjunction with the matching conditioner and it works wonders!
I live in SC where it is always humid and your hair will pouf up even if it doesn’t in other areas in the country. Once I moved to GA for school, I couldn’t find any product that would tame my hair- make it soft and hydrated and keeping it from turning into a poufy mess. This is the only S+C I can use there and know that my hair will turn out great no matter what. I highly recommend this and the conditioner! The full size bottles are pretty pricey, but if you catch them during the Ulta liter sales you can get a fantastic deal!
