[Rant]: I don’t know why people are complaining that their shampoo bars get mushed up and melted in the tins, it’s only logical and common sense to realize that you can’t store the bars wet in the tin, as the tin has no holes for the water to drain. The tin is for you to store one bar when it’s dry. I suppose if you wash your hair every day and use the same bar every day you probably wouldn’t understand what the tin is for, but you would have no problems if you rotated shampoos. While you are using a different shampoo you can put your dried shampoo bar in a tin and the tin makes a most convenient place to store the dry bar until you’re ready to use it again. I’d recommend drying the bar someplace else first, like maybe a soap dish. Soap dishes aren’t usually round or the exact same size as a shampoo bar but why should it be? You’re not going to store it in the soap dish forever, just until it dries. Then you can put it away in the tin. It might be an extra step but I don’t think you will die from exhaustion. Just pretend you live in a college dorm and you share a communal shower, so you have to take your shower stuff with you when you leave.
Ok rant over. I absolutely LOVE these tins! There used to be an amazing offer where they gave you a tin for free whenever you bought 2 shampoo bars, too bad they’ve taken that away a long time ago. I took advantage and collected as many tins as I could at that time. However I don’t store shampoo bars in the tins because they used to sell yoghurt in round glass jars here, and I saved the jars and they were the perfect size for keeping shampoo bars in. Unfortunately plastic is everything nowadays so they no longer sell yoghurt in glass jars. So now I keep the shampoo bars in a small Tupperware. The Tupperwares aren’t round but the bars fit so who cares if they are not round? They keep the bars dry and out of the way so other residents of the household don’t grab them to for example scrub the sink with.
And these tins are AWESOME for travelling!

The idea of this tin is good but you should not close your bar inside until it is very dry or it will get ruined. I always keep my shampoo bar on the lid so it doesn’t stay too wet or get stuck in the deeper part of the tin.
Also, good luck trying to get it open in the shower with wet hands, lol. Otherwise a nice durable little tin for storage and travelling.

I am just so retentive that I had to go buy a tin for each shampoo & conditioner I bought from Lush the other day (new customer!!). The conditioner that they cut into a square fits in the square (body butter tin?) tin perfectly & so far nothing has stuck but I will BOLO for that & after reading here I am most definitely gonna store the pucks in the top lid of the tin. I bought tins for them because I didn’t want to see my investment (eg products) go down the drain. The condish probably could have fit into a soap dish but the pucks being round are a little more challenging. I wanted the entire Lush experience so I figured I was buying all these products so may as well go for tins as well I’m a firm believer go all out or go home & part of the fun of using products is the entire experience! These tins would be awesome for travel. I like how the tins are reusable waiting for your next bar of Lush! I don’t know how long these last, they are really thin but hopefully they don’t rust in the shower! I can’t imagine just storing the puck in the shower w/o some kind containment system (container) or it would all just get half of it wasted down my drain.

A lot of people complain about the shampoo bars not fitting into the tin (especially when it’s new) and the shampoo bar getting stuck inside the bar when it dries. Fortunately, I was quick to figure out solutions for both problems!
1. When your shampoo bar is new, don’t force it in the tin. Just put in as much as you can. And don’t bother putting the cap on. Once the shampoo bar shrinks after at least 3 uses, it should fit nicely in the tin anyway.
2. After using the shampoo bar and it’s all wet, place the shampoo bar in the cap (the smaller, thinner tin) to dry. Because this tin is thinner, it’ll be easier to take out the shampoo bar when it gets stuck rather than placing it in the actual tin to dry and it’s hard to fork out because the thickness of the tin and shampoo bar are too similar.
I think you can go on without this tin if you can find a substitute container to put your shampoo bar in – honestly, I think a small Tupperware will suffice. But I bought the tin anyway because I was overseas when I bought my shampoo bar and didn’t have easy access to my own containers! Plus, the tin was cheaper in South East Asia than it would’ve been if I had bought it in Australia, so I rationalised buying it through this reasoning. Plus, this tin won’t require repurchasing anyway unless it actually becomes broken, so I decided to buy the tins anyway because it’s something I can reuse no matter how many shampoo bars I buy from Lush.

These used to be free with 2 shampoo bars, but l think that offer is long gone. My tins have lasted about 7 years with careful use. When l used solid shampoo l used to lean the wet shampoo bar on the edge of the tin then lay flat once dry. However, my bestest use is as a travel container for cotton rounds – a perfect fit that will hold about 13! Enjoy!

I didn’t buy this tin anyway…. I bought the ‘new’ shampoo bar from lush and they recommended me to buy this tin as it could keep the bar dry and easier for travelling. I just thought it’s not worth to buy a tin for almost 4 bucks. When I got back home, I put my bar in the lush mask container. The black plastic one. It fits perfectly!!! I saw there are so many people saying that the bar sticked on the tin and couldn’t get it out. This didn’t happen on the mask container because it is much wider than the tin. However, the bottom part is just the size of the bar! It will also be a little sticky when you put the bar inside when it is wet. But you can get it out easily because only the bottom part but not the whole bar got sticked. Try it!!!!

It stores the shampoo but it sticks when you put it in wet. As others said here, it defeats the purpose. I have to put the shampoo bar in then flip it upside down so it lays on the lid, so it doesn’t stick. It would be nice if I didn’t need to do that.

I have three of these and I only use them out of the shower. You can’t put the shampoo in whiles its wet otherwise it sticks and ruins the shampoo. Which to me defeats the purpose. I only use them in traces so the pucks don’t get crushed or flake off in my bag.

This tin works fine if you purchase a small, round plastic soap holder with those little suction cups to use with it (you can find them at Walmart in the hardware section or the hardware store). The width of those little holders is exactly that of this tin & the shampoo bars. I let the shampoo dry on the plastic soap holder (which due to the suction cups elevates the soap & it dries without making a mess), then I store the soap in the tin on top of the soap holder (it’s thin so it fits in the tin with the soap). Zero issues. I like the solid shampoos to wash my dog with, they make him smell good, and with the tin I can store the soap for ages.

I read reviews on the tin before purchasing. I punched holes in the bottom of mine with a screwdriver for water and moisture to drain and it works like a charm.
