I used to use Godiva Shampoo Bar from Lush when I washed daily. I needed something conditioning to avoid stripping my hair. That one worked well for everyday use but the conditioning chunks in the bar broke off really fast making the bar not last long at all. Now that I wash my hair every 5-7 days which is better for my hair in the long run I needed a shampoo that would control my scalp oil and give me lots of volume. This seemed to fit the bill based on it’s description and it actually does work to make my hair look fresher and cleaner for longer. If I still washed daily I would not use this as most volumizing shampoos imo are never really gentle. For what I need it to do this works really well. I have color treated hair and while I’d imagine the sea salt in this would strip the beautiful, rich red shine my brunette hair has using this once a week only hasn’t caused me any issues. This pairs really well with the Big Solid Conditioner because it’s lightweight and doesn’t instantly make my scalp greasy. I used to use Veganease which is still lightweight but much thicker than the solid form by comparison. I’m traveling soon to California and I’m very excited to have found products I can easily take on the plane with me as I have had bottles of liquid shampoo and conditioner explode in my check bag before.

¡Hola a todas!

Was traveling and stumbled across Lush which is far and few where I actually live (the one we have is too heavily crowded in a giant mall and my anxiety does not mix well with it), as you know, you don’t bring liquids on planes so I didn’t bring Shampoo out and wanted to be able to bring it back. At the store they recommended this and a Big conditioner bar. I was very skeptical at first, but with lush prices (no packaging material), I didn’t want to have to pitch anything for any reason.
This shampoo bar is very easy to use, suds up very nice and very easily. You just need to make sure you apply the bar to every bit of your hair; top, base, I have to do by each ear too, because the suds don’t seem to “move” well from where they were applied. At first I was counting washes to see how long it would last, and I’ve stopped. It’s been a month and I still have 1/2 to 3/4 of the bar that I started with and I have medium length hair. Scent is fairly gender neutral in my opinion, I use in a combo with the Big conditioner and I get comments on the scent often.
Does seem to dry out my hair a little, and I don’t feel like I can go as long without washing my hair as I did prior, need to wash every other day now. Sometimes you get little bits of seaweed in your hair. But none of this equals anything in the long run.

I love it. I have try Big in the past. I like this bar over Big. I have fine medium length hair. But healthy hair. I never colored my hair at all. I wash my hair every other day. My hair are on the oily side. This bar gave me volume, cleaned, soft and shiny hair. Big left some residue on my hair but Seanik doesn’t. I will try New next along with Seanik. Great shampoo.

After telling the sales associate that I had been using Lush’s Big Shampoo, she recommended I try this product. I love love love it!!! The smell is amazing and it truly gives my otherwise flat hair lots of volume at the roots. I should mention that my hair is extremely greasy as in I cannot go a day without washing it. If you already have dry hair, this product probably isn’t for you. The only negative is that the packaging is garbage. It is legit just the product (a disc) and that’s it. When I travel I put it in a plastic bag, but otherwise it just sits on my shower window ledge.

I absolutely loved this shampoo bar, it volumises hair so well and leaves a great healthy scalp, must buy for anyone who has an oily scalp and wants volume with a fresh feeling. When I was left with the bits I added them to my TBS ginger shampoo and I ended up creating a great hair cleaning blend for my kind of hair (very oily that go flat very quickly)

I really wanted to like this shampoo because it smells so good and lathers really well; however, it gave me no volume nor shine. My hair still felt limp and greasy. I returned this for BIG.

Edit: As promised I’m checking back in to update after using up the entire bar. And it lasted me a total of…*drumroll* 73 washes!! (Yes, I actually counted) not bad at all. It lasted as long as a 300ml bottle of liquid shampoo would have. But of course costed more unless you’re used to expensive salon shampoos, if so then this is a steal. It lasted me ard 2.5 months. Keep in mind though that I’m a nearly everyday washer and I always keep the bar away from running water and avoid getting it completely wet. Also, I’m pretty darn liberal with it. The three swipes just don’t cut it… I run it over my head several times until there is a very good lather. So overall, pretty lasting if u take care of it.
HI, what can i say about this shampoo bar? A few years ago when i was living in London, i spent alot of money on lush …As far as shampoos go, I’ve tried BIG, New, Godiva and Squeaky green ( My fave of the lot being New). Then i moved away and forgot about Lush…but recently, i passed by a Lush store and was reminded at how obsessed i was with it once upon a time. So i decided to try it again.
I have fine, shoulder-length hair of medium thickness and wanted some volume and shine. The lovely assistant suggested Seanik. For some reason, seanik has never appealed to me in the past due to its scent and the seaweed sticking out of the bar. I was about to go for Jason and the Argan Oil but then was kinda worried that it would be too heavy for me. So seanik it was!
To be honest, i’m not crazy about the scent. It reminds me of a mild detergent. But it is neither very strong (as Godiva) nor did it last very long. Lathers extremely well and rinses clean. But the after effects were worth the detergent-like scent. Once dried, my hair was light, voluminous and super shiny ( glossy really) Absolutely love it.
I must say that i am still a daily-shampoo-er because my hair still gets a little greasy by the next evening. But that happens no matter what shampoo i use. I don’t mind because i enjoy shampooing. its therapeutic! And despite daily use for 2 weeks now, it never dried out my scalp or ends. ( i do use a little conditioner on my ends).
As for storage that most people complain about…it could be down to how you use it. I have the square tin from lush ( the round one is too tight a fit) and i never ever use the bar under a running shower that gets the whole bar wet! That is very wasteful and would make it mushy quickly and difficult to dry out, sticking to the tin. I would wet my hair and dry my hand, swipe one side of the bar over my hair a few times (sticking my head out of the shower) and then flip over the lid of the tin and rest the bar on the edge of the lid (wet side up) Then i carry on with my shampooing, get some water on my hair and lather! I leave the bar on the edge of the lid until it dries completely (usually in 2-3 hrs) and pop it back into the tin. Never have any issues with mushiness or it sticking to the base.
I gave it a 4 star rating because it is rather pricey in my country and i am really unhappy that they made some of the most popular bars exclusively available online and then charge premium delivery rates. Such a rip off !
I am currently counting how many uses i get out of this bar to see if i make the 60-80 washes range claimed by lush. Will update once i finish the whole bar!

First of all about my hair: I have roots that get oily fast so I have to wash my hair every two days, I have dry ends, my hair lacks volume and I have a frizz problem (I live in Toronto).
This shampoo cleans my hair really well.
It doesn’t add any volume whatsoever (an employee at LUSH said it would).
And this shampoo also didn’t solve my oily roots problem, I would like to be able to not wash my hair more than 2-3 times a week, as it is bad for the hair.

Nothing special about it I prefer the one with argan which is more gentle than this one.
