My hair always looks great after I use this shampoo. I found this at a discount store (this is not sold in drugstores) and was intrigued by the simple packaging and the fact that the product was made in Germany. In my experience having lived in Europe, the health and beauty products there are of a slightly higher quality and they use less harmful ingredients in the products (compared to the United States). This is a creamy formula and smells very nice, creates a decent, yet not overly foamy lather, and rinses out clean leaving my hair very healthy looking and I also noticed my hair colour is more vibrant and tonal when I use this shampoo.

I found this at Big Lots. I’m glad I didn’t pay more for it. It is really quite unremarkable. It seemed kind of thin once I started to work it in. It lathers very poorly for a sulfate containing shampoo. It didn’t make my hair feel very clean. It wasn’t the worst shampoo I have used, but it is far from what I would call good. I have used it a few times, but I think I will be throwing it in the trash. Just not a fan. (I am thinking it has been discontinued since I found it at Big Lots?)

I’ve had a greasy spot right under my crown for about a month, and I finally realized it was this shampoo’s fault. So if you buy this, make sure to rinse your hair really, really well and skip or reduce amount of conditioner you use.
I bought this because it smelled best out of all the shampoos on the shelf, but the scent was lost after my hair dried.

Clairol’s Professional Repair Daily Shampoo will “cleanse and condition damaged and/or colored hair. Helps repair damage to smoothness and leaves hair shiny.” Clairol says that their shampoo has a color safe formula and is ideal for dry, damaged, or colored hair. It seems like Clairol is a very repetitious brand. I was sent this shampoo for review by totalbeauty.com. I received a 250ml (8.4 fl oz) bottle, which seems to be the medium sized bottle. This is a professional shampoo, I’ve only seen it available at Sally Beauty Supply, but I’m sure it’s also available at other beauty suppliers, as well as online. I’m not entirely sure of the suggested retail price, some googling has lead me to believe it’s between $8-9. Unfortunately Clairol does practice animal testing. This shampoo was made in Germany.
Packaging is ok. It looks like the kind of shampoo I’d see sitting on the shelves at the cheap hair salons I get my hair cuts at. The recyclable white plastic bottle is cylindrical in shape and is topped off with a white cap with pop up dispenser. A golden tan label wraps around the bottle. The name of the product is available on the front of the label, along with some random sweeps of color. A short description of the product can be found on the back of the bottle, along with a full ingredient list and pinch of company info. This bottle isn’t the easiest to use. It’s made of a thicker plastic, making it hard to squeeze. I have to use both my hands to squeeze any product out. I’m sure a professional stylist would be even more annoyed by the poor squeezability than I am.
Clairol’s Professional Repair Daily Shampoo is thick in consistency and pearly white in color. This shampoo has a questionable formula. Clairol says that it’s good for damaged, dry, and dyed hair, but why is it packed with sulfates and sodium derived ingredients? Stop doing that Clairol. You already did that with Herbal Essence’s Color Me Happy Shampoo. Just stop it. There are some moisturizing ingredients at the bottom of the list like sweet almond oil and hydrolyzed silk, but you can find these ingredients in more affordable shampoos, often higher up on the ingredient list. This shampoo has a light lather that spreads easily through the hair and definitely makes my hair feel clean. Clairol’s Professional Repair Daily Shampoo rinses pretty easily. I don’t have dry or damaged hair, but it is colored with henna. Clairol’s shampoo doesn’t seem to wash my color out, but honestly I don’t see a single benefit from using this shampoo. It just seems so average. It isn’t bad, like it doesn’t wreck my hair, but what does it do to help improve the health or look of my hair? Nothing noticeable. Clairol, are you sure this shampoo is professional quality?
I’m thoroughly disappointed by Clairol’s Professional Repair Daily Shampoo. I can’t understand how such a lackluster shampoo can be put out as professional product. It doesn’t function poorly as a shampoo, it cleans my hair and it doesn’t strip my henna, but uit just doesn’t benefit my hair significantly enough to justify it’s price. Scanning the ingredient list, none of the jumpy out of at me as unique; they’re pretty similar to everything Clairol puts in their Herbal Essences shampoos. I’ll finish off this shampoo, but wouldn’t purchase it. I don’t recommend Clairol’s Professional Repair Daily Shampoo, you can find something similar at the drugstore for half the price or less.
