My hair is very think & tends to frizz a lot. This shampoo is very moisturizing however I didn’t feel like my hair got a good cleaning. It smells delicious in the shower but when your hair dries that’s another story. I also got the matching conditioner for this shampoo so which left my hair very soft and not as frizzy. I wouldn’t buy it again because I like switching up my shampoos & trying new ones every time. I still noticed breakage, that’s another reason why I wouldn’t buy it again.

I really wanted to love this shampoo and I almost did – until I switched back to Hydrate for one wash and realized all the things this shampoo didn’t do. Unlike the Hydrate shampoo, Precious Oil does not detangle. The smell is wonderful, it seems to cleanse effectively and it actually brightened my blonde and prevented split ends. So for that it deserves some stars. However, in the shower, it makes hair feel dry (imagine mixing hydrate and purify together – a very strange matted feeling). I didn’t hate it but the Hydrate line works better for me as far as softening goes. I like that Precious Oil doesn’t use silicones to moisturize the hair but I’m not sure I’m convinced enough to purchase this again.

I bought this in the trial size because we all know Pureology is ridiculously expensive. I’m glad I did because this is definitely not worth the price. I have extremely course dry brittle hair and I love Pureology Hydrate Conditioner so I wanted to try their new line of Precious Oil. I don’t see any difference in this shampoo compared to other less expensive brands in the market. It isn’t bad, it just isn’t worth it to me. It did not make my hair any softer, although it did make it flatter and smoother, so if that is what you are looking for then maybe try it out. Personally, I have yet to find a Pureology shampoo that is worth the money to me. I swear by my HG shampoo of Redken’s All Soft. Don’t get me wrong, Pureology Hydrate conditioner will always be my HG, but as far as their shampoos go, they are nothing special. The only Pureology shampoo that is worth the money is the Perfect for Platinum which actually made my hair soft. But for fall/winter I went back to brown so I don’t need a blonde shampoo anymore. Good luck with this, but in my opinion save your money.
