I have finally determined what has caused my dry flaky scalp… This shampoo! It was very drying for my hair, but I kept using it because for some reason it made my hair really wavy. I started getting a dry flaky scalp. Very itchy too. And I’ve been losing a lot of hair. I thought maybe it was my thyroid or hormones but now I see in other reviews that dry itchy scalp and hair loss are side effects of this product. The rest of the bottle is going in the trash.

My criteria for a good shampoo are that it’s cruelty-free, cleans well, sulfate free, has a light scent preferably natural and that it’s affordable. It cleans well, but you can not use it with a heavy conditioner. I like this shampoo, but it is hard for me to work it through my dense fine hair and causes my hair to tangle if I use too much or repeat wash. I like the natural light scent of this shampoo. Plumeria smells almost like Jasmine. I feel that there are better shampoos that fit my criteria that aren’t so expensive (~$9.) I will be trying Nature’s Gate products next. I will review shampoos as I try them. If you’re interested check my profile.

This was terrible for my fine, highlighted, slightly dry hair. Made it dry and irritated my scalp a bit. I don’t have much luck with sulfate free shampoos :/

Smells amazing but it makes my hair so unmanageable when I’m washing my hair,if you had really short hair,it would be no problem.

The packaging on this shampoo is super cute and it smells pretty good. I like that it’s paraben and sulfate free, but it meets itself as a natural shampoo and it’s not. It has more benzoates in it then most shampoos. Mixed with citric acid, benzoates are a known carcinogen. Besides that, this stuff lathers pretty well, but you have to use a ton of it to make a dent. It also cleans hair well, but literally feels like it’s stripping your hair. My hair felt soooo dry afterwards. I won’t be buying this stuff again.

I have the Colorific version of this for colored hair. I love it. It is my first SLS free shampoo so it’s taking some getting used to. I don’t feel like the SLS free shampoos get your hair as squeaky clean but this is probably a good thing as it doesn’t strip out the natural oils. I first used Pureology for colored red hair and I didn’t like it as much as this. I have been dying my hair red since April and noticed when I switched over to this, my color was vibrant and looked great a lot longer. The smell is terrific too! I use the conditioner which I love love love but I have very thick hair and this conditioner is so thick it might weigh down finer hair.
I found I got even more life out of my color when I started using a few pumps of direct dye (manic panic would probably work well, I use J Beverley Hills fashion colour in sangria) mixed in with the shampoo and let it sit for a few minutes.

I’m currently using this shampoo with the Alba cocuonut milk conditioner. It leaves my hair shiny and soft, with little to no hair fallout. I like it so far, and if it continues to work this well I will probably repurchase. I have fine, damaged hair that I dye dark brown, and it doesn’t dry it out or fade my color. When my hair is still damp, I put in some Organix Awapuhi Ginger Dry styling oil, and my hair looks and feels amazing. This is the only sulfate free shampoo that both A) actually cleans my hair and B) doesn’t give me horrible dandruff. I’m not sold that sulfate free makes such a difference but so far, I love this shampoo. It also smells really good, in a tropical kind of way.

I bought the Alba Plumeria Replenishing Hair Wash and Conditioner at Target – combo pak – $9.99. I have a pixie cut, but my hair is heavily highlighted, so even though it is short it tends to be a bit dry. Since the shampoo is not creamy I really feared that this product may be too drying for my hair. Not so! It cleanses very well, but gently, with no build-up. The smell is not strong. I really love this shampoo! And I cannot rave enough about the incredibly moisturizing conditioner! Oh, I think the conditioner is the best that I have ever used in my entire life! I’ll save my rantings on the conditioner for that review.

I used to really like some of this company’s shampoos but I think each one is fairly different and I can’t remember which ones I liked the best. After a few years of not buying these products, I decided to revisit them and picked up a Plumeria shampoo and conditioner. It’s supposed to be good for color-treated hair, the bottle states. It also states that the formula is new and improved. I was a bit hesitant as new and improved usually means worse than before. As I feared, the formula left my hair flat and dry. The conditioner did nothing to moisturize either. I paid $9.99 usd for each bottle so spending $20 on inferior products, no matter how good they smell or natural they claim to be, left me feeling quite disappointed. I am now wary of purchasing the other varieties, especially if they are not the old formula. Guess it’s back to drawing board for me, in my quest for natural shampoos that work well.

I don’t rly have anything to complain about this shampoo.. it smells amazing(very pleasant floral/fruity/tropical smell), doesn’t irritate my scalp, and most importantly leaves clean and soft hair!! This is my favourite shampoo I have ever tried and the price is reasonable as well. It doesn’t perform any miracle feats, but If you are looking for a basic shampoo without all the sulfates and parabens etc but that actually does the job, I would definitely recommend this one!
& great if u have oily hair&like to shampoo on a daily basis
EDIT: Ehh I think it is a bit more deserving of 4 lippies. Still a great pick though!
