Made my hair frizzy near the roots. The rest of my hair looked dirty and felt greasy in spots. The shampoo feels like it isn’t really cleaning. The conditioner doesn’t seem to wash out in spots. I don’t know what to do with it now. Maybe toss it in the trash? I was expecting so much more from Matrix.

My husband picked up this shampoo and conditioner when they had various litres on sale for us to try. I was a little hesitant initially prior to trying because of the oil properties. I didn’t want my hair to get that oily but clean look as I hate having my hair look dirty. I was very happy with it after my first use. During the continual use I found my hair seemed to maintain good condition. I have blonde color hair and can have the occasional bouts of dryness with it during the winter.
I have always been a fan of Matrix Products and this one did not disappoint. Many people mention not liking the fragrance but I really did. It had a spicy clean smell to me and I liked the fact that my hair smelled fresh hours later. I am not a fan of floral scents so perhaps this is why I liked this one. I had noticed that about many of the Matrix shampoos. I like my hair smelling good and not picking up gross smells from the environment.
Bottle is pretty simple. With these big bottles I always prefer the pump as its easier to handle with wet hands, but it still would not deter me from buying this again.

I’ve been using Pureology for a few years but have always liked Matrix. I got this shampoo & conditioner at Ulta on a good sale. It’s just okay. As others have mentioned, the fragrance is very strong & not my favorite. These weren’t as hydrating as I’d hoped either. I have fairly thick, curly, shoulder-length color-treated hair. My hair tends to be dry if I don’t take care of it. Overall, this just wasn’t as good as my regular Pureology. I won’t buy again.

I adore this stuff on my thick, coarse, naturally curly hair. It moisturizes without making my hair feel too weighed down, but also helps control the frizz. It lathers really nice and cleans my scalp, which is hard to find with moisturizing shampoos, at least for me. I use it 1-2 times a week, which is about how much I shampoo regularly.
My only complaints are that the perfume smell is pretty dang strong and does linger for quite a while, and doesn’t go away completely if you use both the shampoo and conditioner. I prefer lighter sweeter/fresh smells…so that’s completely my opinion. Kind of reminds me of my Grandma though 🙂 Another complaint is the price point. This is pretty expensive, but if you have a coupon and wait til it’s on sale it’s not too unbearable to drop some dough on..especially with the pay-off 🙂

I tried this shampoo because I don’t completely like my staple Matrix Color Care (purple bottle). It is stripping my hair color, and drying up my hair. This micro oil shampoo, I cannot even tell you if it cleans or not. It did not cause me any allergic reactions or breakouts. To be honest, I could not use it, period. The smell was too overwhelming and had to finish with washing my hair with a different shampoo. I did take it back to Ulta and exchanged it for my usual Matrix shampoo. The packaging and pricing were okay.,

I only got a sample packet of this so I don’t know the price of a full size. I’m not going to find out either. This had such a strong perfumed scent, it reminds me of a old Avon scent. It wasn’t horrible but really strong and dated. Thank Gawd the smell doesn’t linger in my hair.
It lathered well but that was a negative for me because it blew up the perfume smell. I only used this for one wash. It did clean well but that’s it. I hair wasn’t smoother or shinier. I’ll stick to my co-washes

I usually stay away from sulfates and silicone but lately my hair was breaking (too much protein maybe) and I missed that silicone smooth feeling in my hair and bought this from Ulta and the matching conditioner because was on sale $20 for the litter sizes. I used it a few times and returned it because I noticed a lot of hair loss and made my hair really flat and oily looking. It may be good for “normal” hair but mine is fine and thin. The shampoo even though it has sulphates made my hair feel “gluey” and the conditioner even though had silicone made my hair hard to comb through. I used it last night, went to bed with wet hair and woke up with greasy limp hair 🙁 The smell is strong but I kind of liked it though…

As a Puerto Rican gal with dry, curly, coarse, sometimes frizzy hair I have always limited how often I can shampoo and am extremely careful of the type used (no poo typically). What sucks about this is that I use a ton of styling products and can only go so long before i feel they have built up and are making my hair dull, so I have always wanted to find a shampoo so gentle and nourishing it can be used a few times a week without leaving me dry and frizzy. Enter Oil Wonders Shampoo! My new HG!
This shampoo is a game changer for those of us with unruly, frizz prone, dry hair. Its oil based which really is a necessity for dry hair gals. Although it does “lather”, it’s not stripping or drying in any way. I could probably use this shampoo every single day and it would only continue to give benefits – I use it every other day and I am always left with clean, shinny, controlled tresses. To be honest the only reason I don’t use this every day is because its way expensive for a shampoo ($20.00 for 10 oz) and my waist length thick hair would go through this product way too quickly.
This is by far the best shampoo I have ever tried. I highly recommend this product.

I got these from the liter sale at Ulta. So glad I did! This made my hair super soft and very shiny. Not greasy gloss, but healthy shine, and it surprised me since it says its made up of oils.
I have thick and dry hair so this did not weight it down or make it greasy even after two days. I would buy this again!
