Stylish bottle and impressive marketing for sure. However, this did nothing for my hairloss – which wasn’t even that much at the time. I used it in combination with the lotion and enjoyed the bath ritual – the sharp pine, menthol, turpentine smell. But it was both drying and useless for my dyed hair, which did not feel energized at all. Fun aromatherapy and sqeaky clean scalp and hair, but not much else. Very expensive for what it is and my hair always needed extra layers of product as well.

This is a fun shampoo because it has a whimsical feel to it. Its packaging has this line drawing of a dragon amidst clouds! Whenever someone stays over and showers they LOVE the shampoo bottle and I assume they probably steal a little because hell, who wouldn’t steal some when the shampoo claims it will stimulate your scalp into growing more hair – and thicker hair at that. Like the artwork on the bottle, this is more of a fairy tale than a reality. After about three months, I haven’t noticed any special growth or any thickening of my incoming hair.
I have used it with and without some of the accompanying products in Davines’ “Tech Energizing” line of products. The line is for men and women who want to stop hair loss and/or increase hair growth. Your scalp is “energized” by the nutrients and oil (there is caffine in this gorgeous bottle!), reinforcing the hair shaft to allow stronger hair and hair regrowth.
My hair has thinned out over the past 5 years (I am in my early twenties, so this has been a bit scary for me) so I balled out and bought the shampoo and the associated gel. You are supposed to use the shampoo before the gel when you shower, the shampoo is said to “open the pores” of your scalp so that the gel can work. My stylist said to massage the shampoo into your scalp and then let it sit there for a minute or two so it fully absorbs.
At the end the day, the shampoo leaves my hair feeling clean and smelling medicinal (like coal tar), which is something I like. I am unsure if anyone else has seen positive results using this product or line of products but so far I have not.
