This is a lovely shampoo that actually does what it claims, which has not been my experience with moisturizing shampoos in the past. While it makes a nice, fluffy lather that really cleans up sebum and product buildup, it also leaves a residue that makes my thick hair soft and easy to detangle, even without conditioner following. Unlike the Hask Argan Oil line, the residue doesn’t feel sticky or cause scalp or hairline breakouts for me. My hair is so smooth and shiny (but not weighed down) after it dries: No serum needed. I’d definitely return to this shampoo (and the matching conditioner) when my hair is longer, or perhaps in winter, but it’s actually too much for my current shoulder length hair in this warm, humid weather. Smells amazing, like the old Rocket City squeeze tube glosses – coconut soda! I’ve gotten several compliments on the scent of my hair in the past few weeks.
Both the shampoo and the conditioner (remind me to review that later!) benefit from a couple of minutes of extra time and effort in rinsing. I don’t know how good the Monoi Coconut line would be for really fried hair, but for hair that’s merely thick and likes to tie itself up in knots, it’s worth trying.

I wanted to love this product, but it makes my scalp so itchy! I love Monoi so I thought I could use it, but I stopped using it and went back to an old shampoo to test it. I was fine with the other shampoo, but when I tried this again, I had an itchy scalp again right away. For reference, I have very straight hair that gets oily pretty quickly. My hair looked nice and shiny with this, but there’s no way I can tolerate the scalp issue.

Love this shampoo! I purchased this along with the matching conditioner, mask, and oil. I really love this because it actually didn’t strip my hair. Most shampoos leave my hair feeling almost too clean and dry feeling. I purchased the 33.5 ounce size of these products and so glad I did. It honestly is the best shampoo I’ve used. My hair is waist length, wavy, corse, and quite thick. This lathered really well but left my hair feeling silky before I conditioned. I couldn’t believe that my hair felt so nice from a shampoo?!?
I also bleach my hair blonder than it is so it’s very dry and these products made it feel like I never dyed my hair even my ends were soft and shiny. Couldn’t be happier with a shampoo plus the price is so reasonable for how much you get. The smell is nice as well and if my hair got build up I’d just use a clarifying shampoo so I’m not worried about that. I’m more happy with how my hair feels and looks. Plus 9$ for such a great product is excellent! I will repurchase this. Recommended

I snagged this along with the matching conditioner AND deep conditioner from Ulta when they were on sale and I got quite a bargain! Firstly, all of these products smell lovely. I think the shampoo is decent. It lathers nicer than some other sulfate-free shampoos i’ve tried in the past but i’ll admit it may not get your hair feeling as clean as some may like. I could see build-up become a problem with the accompanying conditioners and this shampoo is not clairifying enough to remove that build-up. I’m not inlove but I also don’t dislike it. Will continue using until it runs out but I probably wouldn’t repurchase. Still on the lookout for that holy grail shampoo.
