   I’ve only used this once but I’m going to edit and add to this as I go along—this is only a first impression.

   For background, I have 2C/3A hair with medium to high porosity (TIP: if you’re trying to work out your hair’s porosity I highly recommend steering clear of “strand tests”. Instead, you can watch the curl ninja’s videos on porosity—her way of testing it is to see how quickly your hair gets sopping wet in the shower; mine is completely saturated in under 30 seconds).

   I have gone sulfate and silicone free and did a final clarifying wash last week then used this shampoo today. It smells inoffensive and I quite like the texture and gentle lather. It’s not harsh and my hair doesn’t have a squeaky clean feeling after.

   I used conditioner (Tresemme botaniques) on one half of my head and tried detangling the other half while the shampoo was still in and it wasn’t easy, I personally didn’t find that the shampoo had much slip. I had more breakage on the no-conditioner side, so maybe using this shampoo on its own or during your detangling step isn’t the best idea.

   That’s the only reason why I docked a star but I may play around with it and see if it works better with more water in my hair while I detangle.

   I love how after my hair dried my curls felt soft and clean, but not stripped! the shampoo-only half didn’t feel noticeably drier, just a tad frizzier with a little less curl definition, which was expected.

   I got mine for £4.50 on lookfantastic which is dirt cheap for 250 ml of a good sulfate free shampoo. I’m really looking forward to this being a staple in my routine so that my search for shampoo comes to an end!!

   I’ve been using this for around three months and it honestly does the job. My hair never looks too greasy or feels too stripped, it just feels…good. Except for only one time where it felt like there was a film under my canopy, but I just reapplied to that area and that did the trick. As for the detangling aspect, i’ve started dry detangling gently with my fingers before the shower. So this stuff doesn’t make it a stripped tangled mess after rinsing it out like a cheap sulfate shampoo would, so five stars!

   I love this shampoo. It’s sulfate free and has ph around 6 which is really good for relaxed hair as mine.
   I couldn’t ask for a better shampoo. This is the only one that cleans it without drying my scalp.
   The only thing I would change is the scent. I would change to a fruit scent because I love shampoo with fruit perfume that you still can smell it for days. This Keracare shampoo has a normal scent, it ain’t bad, just don’t last long on hair.

   I’ve tried a lot of shampoos, both high end and the more common high street brands. This has them all beat hands down for me. As shampoo goes, I have to be very very careful with the brands I use. Shampoo is the foundation, and if you get it wrong or use a brand that is too harsh it can leave the hair with horrible dry frizzy results. Anyhow, no such problems with this shampoo. I spend time working the poo into my scalp, massaging in, I usually do a first shampoo and then a second just to ensure that my hair is totally cleansed, As I am rinsing out my hair feels soft, silky, smooth and moisturised, it almost feels as if I’m rinsing out a conditioner. I’ve just ran out of this so I need to repurchase as I am missing it. Most certainly a HG product.

   I do like this shampoo. It satisfies me in knowin my hair will be clean and moisturized. However to use this every single time to wash hair is not good in my opinion bc it can build up a bit. I alternate btw this and mizani. I also use many products from spain. But this suffices! If your suffering from really dry hair that can’t withstand to much stripping of the hair then I would deff go with this!!

   first, i want to note that I am african american with naturally kinky-curly hair. the lather for this shampoo is nice, but it doesn’t strip the hair which is great. the smell is a bit chemical at first but has a floral topnote. i used it in conjunction with the humecto conditioner. good stuff! i am experiencing less breakage and my hair very is moist.

   I picked up my first bottle from JC Penny. Afterwards, I had a hard time finding it again, so I purchased a salon size bottle from Ebay. The formula is different from the old one. The bottle is gold and specifically says “sulfate free”.

   This shampoo has amazing slip, and is wonderful for curly hair. I pour a handful into the palm of my hand, run the product through my hair, and detangle under running water. It takes about 2-3 minutes.

   Afterwards, I deep condition with Keracare Humectress
   conditioner and coconut oil. Luckily I was able to find a heating cap, which allows me to deep condition for an hour. My hair is soft and moisturized afterwards.

   There is no other shampoo or co-wash method that is equivalent. This line is marketed towards african american hair, but it you have thick, curly, dry hair, or damaged hair that tangles easily give it a try.

   I have been using this shampoo for one month straight. I waited until I had some new growth (I have relaxed hair) so I could test out its detangling abilities. I have used it before, but my hair was really damaged back then and I didn’t use it long because I was jumping around with products. Anyways after my one month of using this, I’ll say that it’s a pretty decent product. Good for moisturizing and detangling unruly hair. For me, though, the thrill died down after the month. My hair was starting to feel a little dry, so I thought it might be the coating ingredients. I clarified and tried again, but it’s still not as good as the first few times I started using it. So I’m going to switch to something else for awhile and then come back to it. I think I would repurchase this because it keeps my new growth soft but the rest of my hair just feels weird until I condition it.
   UPDATE Dec 2009: This shampoo remains a staple in my haircare product collection. Over time, this product prevents damage and leaves the hair silky and manageable. Clarifying refreshes any dullness that may occur. By the way, the company [Avlon Industries] now offers a SULFATE-FREE version of this shampoo for anyone who might be wary of the old formula’s ingredients. I hope to review that version of this product soon.

   The best ive tried for my fine relaxed hair which tends toward the dry.

   Leaves the hair feeling semi-conditioned at rinse out instead of dry, stripped and hard to comb through.

   It detangles just like it says. Its a yellow-clearish gel like formula.

   The best Ive ever had.

   Although Kerastase conditioners cant be beat this cheaper brand of shampoo roundly humiliated Kerastase’s expensive and highly touted Bain Satin 2 in my tests.

   Will probably use it forever.

   Keracare is a plus for my short fine medium textured hair, my hair is manageable, softer, and shinier!! No weighed down feel to my hair, and No bed head either, I also Love the humecto conditioner and the keracare leave in.
