This is really good stuff. My hair is fine and color-treated and prone to damage. I’m always wary about shampoos that can weigh it down, especially shampoos that claim to fix damage. This one actually manages to make my hair feel smoother but also not weigh it down. It’s worth the price, especially the jumbo size.

My hair is wavy with an oily scalp but overall dry hair desperately in need of moisture, especially when I’ve been using heat. It also frizzes up a lot in humidity. I heard such good things but unfortunately this shampoo and conditioner left my hair really dry and dull. Right after washing out the shampoo i could feel how my hair had been stripped of moisture because it was that squeaky clean feel instead of a gentle clean. And the conditioner didn’t do much to add back softness. I get better results using my dirt cheap Head & Shoulders Smooth & Silky shampoo.

K-PAK Color Therapy Shampoo~
I was looking for a new color shampoo to try. I saw the shampoo reviews on here and decided to buy it. I got the conditioner too.
I color my long hair about every three weeks because of the gray. I like the two products and plan to use them from now on. I think they would be good for people with chemically treated, damaged or dry hair. It’s probably a good idea to switch them out now and then with something lighter. I do that after about the 4th or 5th time.
The price is on the higher side but you can get a deal if you shop around. I paid $17.00 for each one and they should last a long time.

I bought the Joico K-Pak Color Therapy shampoo on a whim as it was only $12 at my local store on sale, which is a deal for 1L! Packaged in an easy pump bottle, it smells nice and has worked well in washing and protecting my hair colour, though I am unsure how moisturising it is. I have not experienced any build-up, which is a plus. I would prefer that it did not contain sulfates, but otherwise am pleased with my purchase as it cleans my hair well and will last me a long time.

Horrible stuff left my hair like dry hay.

I dyed my hair from my natural, super-dark brown to a medium-brown at the roots with small blonde highlights about a month ago. I purchased the shampoo at TJMaxx with the conditioner, and I think the set works well for the price. I don’t know if it’s a side-effect of the dyeing/bleaching process or the shampoo, but my roots air-dry super fast out of the shower, and the color appears brighter. I haven’t used this shampoo for a long amount of time, but I don’t see any difference in my hair.

I always remember struggling with my hair. I have a lot of it, and it’s course and for some reason damaged. Well maybe because I die my hair black every 3 month. Still, I am constantly battling frizziness and dryness, even though I stay away from the blow drier and straighteners most of the time. I just can’t get it to be soft and luscious.
So after intensive research, I decided keratin is the way to go. But a keratin treatment is so bloody expensive. Ain’t nobody got money for that! 🙂
Here comes the next best thing. Keratin packed haircare. Joico always got good review on the internet so I decided to give it a go. The K-PAK line has a few variations, but I chose the one for colored hair. I have to say..I like it. Not love it.
Why like it? It cleans my hair without stripping it and when I use this set I tend to blowdry my hair because the heat sort of activates it and my hair gets softer and less unruly.
Why not love it? I still get frizz. If I’m being realistic it will take more then one bottle of something with keratin in it to get my hair to that stage. And I have to use heat in my hair to see the results. That I do not like, since heat it what causes the damage in the first place. If I let my hair to air dry, I just don’t see any difference compared to drugstore shampoos.

Background: Coarse, highlighted/over processed/dyed multiple times thick Asian hair
This stuff sucks… I used it twice and it made my hair frizzy and dry/crunchy. My roots/scalp were fine and I didn’t experience a greasy feel as others mentioned. Thank GOD for Ulta’s great return policy since I exchanged this for Joico’s moisture recovery line which is great.

HOLY COW.
After trying so many “damage repair” products I can finally say this products truly DOES WORK. I started with the color therapy shampoo with the kpak luster lock treatment and now I use the shampoo, conditioner, and the luster lock treatment on my ends and I’ve used this combo a total of 4 times and my hair has little to no signs of damage.
Before I used this my hair had been bleached, dyed, straightened every day and was frizzy as all hell. Now my hair is shiny and soft and I’ve noticed less breakage as well. Also, I just noticed the other day that Walmart is starting to sell this line. (At least in Canada it is) I’ve been recommending this to everyone I know and will continue to do so.

Pros: works well, leaves hair soft and flexible, and it is truly great for color-treated and thick hair.
Con: smell is horrible. It’s not fruity like other Joico products, but smells like harsh cheap perfume, and overwhelmingly strong. The smell doesn’t fade even after a couple of days, and it will obliterate any other scent you try to wear. I notice it in bed and it bothers my husband, who has never complained about any other hair product I use, so I had to stop using it.
Otherwise, this is a fantastic product. I have super thick, long, wavy, colour-treated hair that pretty much has a life of its own. Few products make it manageable, but this one does. If you have thinner or finer hair, it might weigh it down: my hair can handle really heavy conditioners, but this one feels light to me even though it adds a lot of moisture. It feels amazing when you massage it into your hair, it detangles exceptionally well, and it adds shine and reduces frizz. I notice someone said it smells earthy, so I wonder if there was a different formulation a few years ago? I’ve tried it twice in the last two years and it’s definitely a perfume smell. Joico, please make a scent free version for those of us that can’t handle strong perfume or for those who work in scent-free environments (yes, scent-sensitive people will smell it when you are near them). I’d buy this again today if they had a different smell or an unscented version (which would be great for all hair products, so you can choose to wear perfume without mixing scents.). The shampoo, by the way, is much easier on the nose and works well, but it’s not as amazing as the conditioner.

I hate it.
Pros:
– not sure, smell isn’t bad
Cons:
– I have dry highlighted hair and I never came across a product that weights them down, except this one. My hair looked gross right out of shower
– it gave me dandruff
– it builds up like nothing else I’ve tried
– it made my hair more frizzy and dry

I already love Joico and I have only used one product from them!! Joico k-pak color protect conditioner. It makes my hair so soft and rids it of any tangles it might have. It also smells amazing so that’s a plus.

I tried to like this for weeks and weeks. In addition to trying it with different shampoos, hoping to get a good result, and rinsing after a few minutes as usual, I used it as a deep conditioner leaving it in overnight or for 20-30 minutes too. I don’t use any styling products just shampoo conditioner sometimes argan oil –the end. Not even once can I say that the result pleased me. It always made my (high porosity dry fine curly) hair look frizzy and gross. It made detangling difficult–it actually worked better without the conditioner. V little slip. I had a LOT of breakage and shedding and I was taking good care of myself healthwise (including supplements like iron) and of my hair (v gentle, no heat styling, protective styling, etc). I’m not protein sensitive at all–in fact my hair craves it. E.G. I did the Aphogee a couple of days ago, and my hair loved it. Got it from Shoppers Drug mart so I can’t put it down to having purchased a fake. Went back to my lovely Jason Naturals yesterday and already noticed an improvement. I would give this 3 stars as it seems to work for others, but having seen it actually damage my hair even on the first use, it gets a minus seven.

I realised I had not reviewed this conditioner yet although I reviewed the shampoo. The pair has been my go-to for months now, and I credit these products with the fact my hair is in decent condition. This conditioner is really good for a daily product. It’s excellent at detangling – the shampoo, while good, does tangle my hair a bit – and I don’t really feel the need for a deep condition when I use this. (I tend to wash my hair every 2-3 days, depending on whether I wear it up or down). I’ll repurchase both the shampoo and conditioner. My hair: baby fine, wavy-curly (I mostly blow dry it straight), between bob and shoulder length with a semi-permanent colour job.

I would definitely not repurchase this shampoo! I have fine colour treated hair and this shampoo is just above average. For this price, I was expecting something amazing. But this product is definitely not… Well, at least for me it simply doesn’t work. I am using both the shampoo and the conditioner. My hair ends up being oily at the base and dry at my roots. The same result I get when using drugstore hair products. So yeap, its a definite no for me.

This is the absolute best shampoo I have EVER used on my fine, color-treated hair. It’s gentle enough to prevent color-stripping but powerful enough to actually CLEAN my hair—a combination that is just about impossible to find. Never, ever has my hair been so shiny and bouncy (in the past, most shampoo/conditioners left it looking like straw). So happy my search is over! (Oh, and it smells nice and amber. Bonus!)

Firstly I just want to say I have color treated thick course hair and its very thirsty! I had just gotten my hair color and my whole head felt like straw! I went to Cosmoprof and bought this WONDERFUL shampoo and condition set with the deep conditioning treatment with it and wow! Just when I was putting the shampoo in it felt half way to silk, then the conditioner was even better. Secondly my hair usually takes me up to 1 hour/half to style. It took me 15 minutes to dry and 11 minutes to style!! This HG stuff is wonderful! I will absolutely be purchasing this again!!!!!! TOTATLY RECOMMEND,
