I’d really want to like this shampoo but it causes me dandruff after a week of usage, possibly a dermatitis reaction. My hair felt stiffer as well, but when dry it’s very manageable and not frizzy. Note that I have severely bleached hair that I dyed black. My strand ends feels very stiff and almost crispy when using this shampoo.

I’m assuming this stuff is considerably cheaper in Japan since there is considerable markup on imported items. So although this has an inflated price at the stores which I have purchased this, I am willing to suck it up, because I like it so much.
I like the moisturizing shampoo and conditioner in the orange bottle more than the smoothing set in pink and white. The moisturizing shampoo has a much stronger sweet scent but I don’t mind since it goes away once my hair is dry. The smoothing shampoo and conditioner has a less powerful scent.
I have long wavy hair that has its own mind in humid weather. Even when I pull it back in a ponytail, if I’m using the wrong shampoo and conditioner it’ll frizz up and give me unattractive flyaways. I don’t like to use heat on my hair since it damages it and I try to keep my hair low maintenance. That being said, few products have truly given me a manageable mane. Ichikami the moisturizing version makes my hair feel smooth and more manageable. Also my hair feels stronger if that makes any sense. I shampoo daily and have not had any build up issues, although after I finish a bottle I try to switch to a different shampoo for a few days.
I highly recommend this shampoo in the moisturizing orange version. The smoothing version is just ok in my opinion.

I have wavy Asian black hair which is a bit dry, but this shampoo and conditioner is amazing! it smells nice (only if you like light floral scents) and makes your hair really shiny. the price is reasonable too and you don’t have to use much to get a good lather for the shampoo. Definitely will buy again.

I love the scent of this shampoo and the matching conditioner! They don’t smell identical but I agree with the previous reviewer that it’s a light, delicate but very natural/non-cloying sakura scent, almost tea-like, similar to the Kerastase Bain de force shampoo actually. My hair looks really good when I use this shampoo with the matching conditioner. Sometimes it feels a little dry if I use this S&C exclusively, so I alternate between this and a more natural shampoo from Avalon Organics (the grapefruit geranium S&C) and the Costco Kirkland moisturizing S&C. Would definitely repurchase! Fortunately it’s available at many asian supermarkets around me, but I’ve also seen it on Ebay and Amazon.

This is one of the best smelling shampoo I’ve ever tried and really, it would fill up my bathroom with such a sweet, feminine cherry blossom scent for hours. My pregnant sister is very sensitive to scents right now but even she loves this. I like this better than the two most popular brands in Asia which are Asience and Tsubaki as Ichikami doesn’t contain any parabens or SLS, comes in an eco-friendly, refillable pack as well as having more natural ingredients. However, it loses brownie points for causing my hair to go flat if I skip washing my hair more than two days, which I guess rather common when using Japanese made shampoos but for the quality, price and fabulous scent, it is quite a treat.
