Bought it at the Vitamin Shop and loved it—went to Whole foods for the next bottle and holy smokes it was the worst –didnt clean–drying –AWFUL
Went back to The Vitamin Shop and bought up what they had left of the same lot number and very happy.
Was nearly out so went back to the Vitamin Shop and the bottle I got was awful—just dried the life out of my hair–hi/low lights look like crap
My advice. :Quality is unreliable—its just too much of a hit or miss so a thumbs down and 1/5 from me

This is supposed to be Aubrey’s most moisturizing shampoo but it left my dry, curly, color-treated hair feeling more dry. I did shake well before using, as instructed. On the plus side, this shampoo lathers up well and rinses quickly. It gave my hair shine and fullness.

I think this shampoo is great! And I think now i understand all those bad reviews about drying the hair etc.. People are used to classic commercial shampoos full of sulphates and chemical ingredients which make hair so called ”smooth and silky” after shampooing. All this is bollocks as this smoothness is one big lie. I used to use those shampoos and decided to stop and change it to 100% natural shampoos. Of course my hair became brittle, matt, pure mess, but that was because it was detox for my hair! Hair was getting rid of all chemicals and that takes time; 2-3 weeks (everyone is different). After this period my hair became beautifully soft and shiny. And this shampoo is one of the best i used. It gives rich lather, and makes my hair unbelievably soft, manageable and healthy looking. Yes smell is little bit off putting but I can deal with. Otherwise i got no complaints. So for everyone who says that this shampoo causes dryness, brittle hair etc, please detox your hair first to get rid of all chemicals from classic shampoos and then try this natural shampoo!

My experiance with this product was great. It really moisturized my curls perfectly. Then again, I have virgin hair (never ever ever been touched by a synthetic chemical). I don’t understand the bad response to this product at all. I have alot of faith in this wonderful company and I am thankful that they are one of the only companies that I feel care about their customers and what they put in their products. This product makes my hair very silky and happy. I also think the scent is very soothing.

I bought this because of the whole ‘moisturizing’ and ‘rose’ tags. So naturally, I was expecting an amazing rose-scented shampoo which left my hair soft and moisturized. But then the mail arrived and all I got was this crap! Ugh. And I paid just over £10 for it! Should have stuck to my herbal essences at 98p!
First of all, this terrible company is misleading people by marketing this horrible product as being meant for people with dry, brittle hair especially those with bleached hair. However, although I do not have brittle, bleached hair, this stripped all the existing moisture from my hair and left it feeling like straw! I just don’t see how the heck this would benefit a person with already dry hair.
Second, the whole honeysuckle rose scent is awful!!! I love the scent of roses but this does not have even a hint of rose scent in it..it literally smelt like a toilet detergent! i’m definitely not kidding. Even my aunt took a whiff and wrinkled her nose in disgust.
Now i’m stuck with finishing a whole bottle of this crappy product since I spent so much on it and following it with lots of my fave conditioner to counteract the dryness and get rid of the terrible smell!
Do not buy this!!

Very disappointed in this product. I have naturally curly hair and it was like straw after using this- could not get a comb through it.
Added zero moisture to my hair.Big fail for me.

This stuff is the absolute WORST. I seriously don’t understand how a popular natural hair blogger can praise it so, when the reviews here are so bad. My hair is a dry rough mess right now & I’m a little worried it won’t go back to what it was. I can’t wait to co-wash in a few minutes. I used this shampoo two days ago followed by my normal co-wash with conditioner, leave-in & gel to define my curls. My hair felt ‘off’ right after I got out of the shower but didn’t seem so bad as I went about my normal styling process but it was frizzy and dry-looking by the end of the day, I couldn’t figure it out at first but this is the 2nd time using this shampoo & the second time this has happened. The reviews on here further confirm it – this stuff really is awful for natural hair. Far worse than my clarifying shampoo even & Aubrey’s supposedly doesn’t contain stripping detergents yet it zaps ALL of the moisture & then some out of my hair. Ugh. Never again.

Okay, so the smell isn’t bad when you open the product but once you use it you get…well, more of the mix of what’s in there. I love honeysuckle but the rest of the product smelled like a toilet cleaner to me.
The ingredient list is very intimidating to me (I’ve got a sensitive everything so the fewer the ingredients the happier my skin is, generally) and I don’t like that there’s alcohol in it and witch hazel. I know that it’s supposed to be good for the skin but I find that anything that has witch hazel ends up irritating my skin.
The product itself doesn’t spread easily through my hair and I have a lot of it (it’s not very long though) so I needed to lather a few times in order to clean my whole head. My hair kept getting more tangled and drier and drier and I definitely needed conditioner afterwards. Lather isn’t the most important thing for me, but the product has to be able to spread easily and that if I do end up washing it more than once I’d like my hair to not feel like straw or that my scalp doesn’t itch like crazy.
I appreciate the company and all they’re doing for the environment, but I probably would go with something that doesn’t cause my hair to break because it’s tangled up and dry as a desert.

I have long fine hair, but lots of it, so it looks quite thick. The moment this shampoo touched my hair is tangled it instantly (even though I brushed my hair prior to getting in the shower). It was difficult to wash as I literally could not move my fingers through my hair. As this was a first time trying a natural shampoo, I was prepared for it not to foam up, had no clue it would make my hair into a giant knot.
Using conditioner and a wide pick comb, it took probably 20min to untangled this mess.
Luckily my husband with his short hair can finish the product for me.

This left my dry, coarse, frequently dyed hair matted and tangled. I would have to quickly apply conditioner in order to untangle my hair. It also produced very little lather so that I couldn’t really give my hair a decent wash and cleanse. The scent for me was also awful and smelt like insect repellent. On the plus side, I liked the naturalness of the product.
