I had been using for months but didn’t see any improvement with dandruff.
It does make the hair smell good though.

THIS CHANGED MY LIFE.
I used a sulfate free shampoo without ever using a clarifying shampoo for about three months and ended up inviting a friend to live on my scalp. My hair’s kind of fine and generally oily after 24 hours, but suddenly my hair started to reek 30 minutes after a shower. It was rancid. I could smell my head every time I moved. I tried several different shampoos, tea tree oil, peppermint, lavender, lemon, along with various techniques to reduce oil, but nothing worked. I went on for eight months of just REALLY BAD smelling hair no matter what I did.
I used this product and the smell disappeared. Smelly Hair Syndrome gone. I don’t go more than 48 hours without using it because quite frankly it’s not worth the risk of that awful rancid oily stench returning. It’s a little harsher than other products so make sure you have a fantastic conditioner or use it every other wash.

I absolutely LOVE this shampoo! I have long, fine color treated hair with a flaky dry scalp which also becomes very oily. This shampoo really helps with the itching and flaking and does not strip my color, which is black. I lather onto scalp only and let it sit a few minutes and rinse. Follow up with your favorite conditioner. I don’t use daily though because it seems to not work as well on the oil everyday. I alternate this with Suave daily clarifying, Suave green apple, VO5 split ends, or Pantene ice shine…. All of those are excellent for oily hair. I hate the bottle though, it pours out to quickly so be careful. I highly recommend this though if you have dandruff or dry scalp issues.

I have thin, fine, oily hair. I’ve been using this product for years and find this is the only product that will keep my dandruff at bay and at the same time keep my scalp oil free for two days so I only have to wash my hair every other day or 3 times a week. If I stop using this, the dandruff starts to build up, but if I keep using it, I see the dandruff go away. I have not found anything to get rid of the dandruff completely. I have been using the 2 in 1 because I found the shampoo alone very drying, and even after the 2 in 1, I use another conditioner. My biggest gripe with this product is that it makes my hair fall out more then normal, but I continue to use it because I cannot deal with the dandruff and the oiliness! I personally love this scent of this, I think it is light and not overpowering, but I know citrus is not for everyone so do be aware that like any shampoo, this will leave a scent in your hair.

I have been using this product for about 2 months now and I gotta say, I really love this! It works so well. My head no longer itches as much as it used to and that’s how I know it’s doing the job. I have used many other shampoos and nothing compares to this. LOVE it.

I really wanted to love this shampoo. My hair is extremely oil and I have to wash my hair every day. If I wash in the morning, I start noticing oil in the crown area by mid day. I don’t use much products in my hair (shampoo with conditioner and clarifying shampoo once/week), but my face has the same problem, so I guess this unfortunate condition (oil) is part of my genetics…. 🙁 I bought H&S 2 in 1 after reading the reviews at MUA. I used it several times, but it does nothing to control oil. In fact, my hair felt greasy on top (and looked like it too) and dry at the ends. Maybe I should have tried the shampoo version, not 2 in 1. Anyway, I went to Ulta today and bought Paul Mitchells tea tree oil invigorating shampoo. We’ll see how that works out…..

I recently moved into a new building and the water here makes my hair very limp and flat, especially on the top of my head. I colored my hair a few weeks ago and the combination of our bad water and the hair color chemicals really irritated my scalp. I needed a new shampoo anyway, so I decided to try out Head & Shoulders…my parents use it at home and every time I wash my hair at their house I always have a better hair day than usual. So I settled on the citrus 2-in-1 version, since it says it’s good for oily/fine hair. It also said on the bottle that it is gentle enough to use on color-treated hair. WELL, I used it on my hair and was pleasantly surprised. I was worried about a 2-in-1 shampoo drying out or weighing my hair down, especially with my building’s awful water. My hair felt softer, and much cleaner. I used it again the next day and styled my hair and it was not nearly as flat and gross as usual, and seemed to look nicer for a much longer period of time. I’ll keep trying this shampoo, but for now, it’s great! The only thing I took points off for are: The bottle/label…looks very cheap, and if they are trying to market head&shoulders to everyone, they shouldn’t make the name so HUGE on the bottle, because who wants to be seen stocking up on anti-dandruff shampoo? Second, the cap totally sucks. It’s hard to open in general, but when you’re in the shower and your hands are wet, forget it. Also, there’s no real control valve in the cap and since this shampoo is particularly thin and almost milky, it sort of oozes out every time you try to use it and gets all over the cap.
EDIT
I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and I’m less impressed than I was when I first tried it. It makes my hair feel dry and dirty, and I feel like it gets oily faster.

I have had oily hair for many years now and have tried practically every online tip you can imagine – dry shampoo, baby powder, dish soap, vinegar, lemon juice, shampooing every other day – and nothing worked. Finally, I read somehwere that shine shampoos can really contribute to oily hair which made sense considering that I’d been using shine shampoos on and off for a couple years now. After buying this shampoo, I noticed an incredible improvement in the state of my hair. I can now survive the second day hair whereas before I struggled even sometimes during the day of a shampoo. My hair is lighter, softer, and the shampoo has a nice smell that isn’t overpowering. I definitely recommend this for people with oily hair.

*Note that this review is for the 2 in 1*
I should have picked up the regular shampoo that wasn’t 2 in 1. I have an oily scalp so I wash my hair every morning, but after washing this morning my crown felt oily after only a few hours, and even felt oily and tacky while washing and after rinsing well.
Edit: A few days later, after I used Suave’s clarifying shampoo, this one works fine and I like it a lot for oil control. It’s also not drying to my ends. Next time I won’t buy the 2 in 1.

Only problem I have with this product is that my hair always seems to fall out. It does great with getting rid of the oil & I can go without washing for maybe 2 days then it’s really bad haha. It smells good & the smell actually lasts even after I shower which is nice. I’ll buy this once in awhile when I’m out of my other stuff.
