Wow! This shampoo really removes product build-up and gets hair back to “normal”. I use a lot of redken’s anti-frizz and anti-snap/strengthening products but my hair is fine so I need to make sure my hair gets a thorough cleansing from time to time or else it will start looking flat and needs to be washed more often. This shampoo really makes hair “squeaky” clean and lathers up nice, I let it sit in my hair for a few minutes to allow it to work on my scalp as well as this (and Redken’s extreme strengthening shampoo as well) has been keeping my itchy scalp issue under control. I feel this is a must-have if you use a lot of product and need to make sure it all gets washed out from time to time.

Being that I am a hairdresser, I have used quite a few “clarifying” shampoos, and this is one of my favorites. This product is great for oily scalp buildup, or for people that use a lot of hair products. Deep cleansing shampoos shouldn’t be used every single time you wash your hair unless your only washing your hair once a week, and if it’s dry you still need to alternate it with a moisturizerising shampoo. Love the scent to me it smells a bit lemony but not overpowering.

Holy Grail! This shampoo is a miracle worked. My hair is straight, blonde but getting ashier as I get older so I get highlights. I’ve been using sulphate free shampoos most of the time and I just do not like them, but I do want to keep my highlights from prematurely fading so I use them. We also have extremely hard water in our area. I do my final rinse under filtered water(which is only cold water) but still, my hair just never looks like it does when at our previous home where the water was softer. When I got this and used it the first time I was blown away. My hair once again felt like hair, shiny, silky, bouncy and not weighted down. It also smells very nice and did not dry my hair out like most clarifying shampoos do. I now use it about every 3rd time I shampoo. Ulta had buy 2 get one free so I got 2 of those and a bottle of Magnetics conditioner since I was almost out of the conditioner.
Beware if you order online, because they sent me Clean Maniac instead and I had to go down to the ULTA store and exchange it.

I consider this the mildest but equally effective clarifying shampoo I’ve used to date. Smells clean and fresh and does get rid of build up but doesn’t make your hair feel stripped.
Sometimes I do like shampoos like Neutrogena Clarifying that feels like it is stripping your hair of EVERYTHING but I find I can only use those once every other week or so. I color my hair so have to typically use more gentle products so this one I like because I can rotate frequently with my other more gentle shampoos.
Nice product and I recommend you buy during Ulta’s liter size shampoo sale = it’s about half price then.

This is the best shampoo ever! This is the only shampoo that gets rid of the styling product buildup and doesn’t dry my hair out. I can’t find any other product like it. It smells good too!

Very nice and pleasant shampoo. Can’t say I could detect a miraculous effect, yet the hair feels nice and soft after using it. I was afraid that the cleanser might strip the hair off all the oils alongside with the dirt and build up, or that it would leave the hair greasy as it is a cream. Yet none of the fears were confirmed. Only positive experience so far.

This is excellent! I had nearly given up on Redken after buying a few dud products, but decided to give this a try. I had been using a couple sulphate-free shampoos for awhile and my hair wasn’t looking good, it was limp and weighed down (I think sulphate-free shampoos are overrated, my hair is in no better condition after using them). So I desperately needed something to really cleanse my hair–and this was perfect! Made my hair feel like hair again, clean and full of body and bounce.

I was super excited when I started using products from this line, because I had been intrigued about it for a very long time. So, when I finally got around to buying and trying products from this line to use on my naturally curly hair, I had very hopes. Now, initially things went pretty well, but then things started to go all over the place with my results from this line.
First off, even though I have fine textured curly hair, it is very dry. I also suffer with scalp eczema and seborrheic dermatitis. The product line overall I don’t find is very moisturizing at all. I don’t any of the products to add a ton of moisture to my hair for the long-term. Now, with the Cleansing Cream, I started off getting good results with it, but the longer I used it, I found it to be drying to my hair. The only way that it would leave my hair quite soft after use is when I would pre-poo with coconut oil beforehand. I don’t have time to do that before every hair wash. Also, I started to feel a tingling sensation of sorts, while I would have this stuff in my hair rubbing it around, which I found to be odd. I have honestly gotten to the point, where even though the company claims this product to be their co-wash in the line, it doesn’t perform like one, so I can’t agree with that.
I will not be buying anymore of this stuff, because it is not the best to use on curly hair that is naturally very dry, also there is some ingredient or ingredients in this product that is not agreeing with my scalp at this time. Also, this product acts like like straight up shampoo, and not a mild one either. Which is why, I highly recommend passing this line up altogether if you have very dry curly or could hair. I honestly feel that this line is best for naturally textured Caucasian hair overall.

I bought this product a while ago before the “no poo” trend exploded on the market, hence there weren’t many sulphate free options on the market. What I liked about this shampoo was the lovely tropical smell and the moisturized feeling it left BUT on the much bigger downside, after a while I got loads of buildup and an itchy and dandruff-laden scalp. I had to use big amounts of product to make my scalp feel somewhat clean. And I’m not a very oil-scalped gal. In other words, it did not clean my scalp sufficiently. Maybe I had an allergic reaction or did not get through the transition period, but the stickiness and buildup was so bad I was actually losing a lot of hair. All of this reversed when I went back on regular SLS-containing shampoo and I have steered clear of SLS-free shampoos ever since, but I am planning on maybe trying the Lanza Healing Moisture, that has had loads of good reviews. Hopefully I will learn that not all SLS-free shampoos are created equal 🙂

I really like this product. I have med-long, curly, colored, prone to frizz and “mature” hair. This product really cleanses but is so mild and does not strip. It has a strong scent that I like — a bit like the Pureology line, homespun and herbal.

I made sure I finish a bottle before I post a review.
The good: The shampoo was quite moisturising and it doesn’t strip hair. It didn’t lather much, but that didn’t bother me. It did appear to do a semi-decent job of cleansing the hair.
The bad: I found that my hair just never felt clean. I’m always careful not to use a lot of product and all hair products (except my conditioners) are cone-free. I don’t use heavy oils, butters gels or waxes either – just lightweight moisturisers as I have very fine strands. So, in theory, it shouldn’t be a big problem to get my hair clean. I had to clarify at least twice or three times with the Frederick Fekkai Apple Cider Shampoo during the time I used the Cleansing Cream. My hair just felt waxy and coated.
I still have another bottle of this which I’ve only used a little – I’ll probably give it away to someone fancies it. Not repurchasing.

This is the best shampoo I have found for my thick dry coarse 3c curly hair. I get the unscented version in the large dispenser pump. When I wash my hair it actually looks good the next day. No frizz fluff bomb anymore! The only thing about this shampoo is that I need to use a lot of it bc my hair is thick and i have to do 2 washes if my hair is really dirty. It does not lather up a lot but it still gets my hair clean. It does not strip my hair at all. This is sulfate, silicone and protein free shampoo.

This is my HG shampoo, I’ve been using it for 8 years. I highly recommned trying Jessicurl Hair Cleansing Cream if you have problems with madly dry frizzies but don’t want to go no-poo.
I have super duper dry hair. This does not strip it. I still have frizzies for a couple days after using it, but they aren’t too bad. I don’t use it daily, but then my hair doesn’t need shampoo daily. I buy the unscented version. That doesn’t mean it has no smell, just no added perfume, fragrance or essential oils.
It is not strong enough to wash my hair if it’s filthy. For example, if I put bug spray in my hair, swim in a chlorinated pool, or spend hours in the ocean. I use Kinky Curly Come Clean in those situations. Come Clean strips my hair a little, but not as badly as other stronger shampoos.
I’ve tried DevaCurl shampoo once. It seemed similar to the Jessicurl but the scent made me feel ill.
Jessicurl is no good if you have oily hair, using it is worse than using nothing at all for oily hair.

Giving this an “eh” as it’s ok but didn’t wow me. It cleans but that’s about it. Offered unscented is a great option. I love what I’m using now but if for some reason I couldn’t get it, I’d buy this one. No bells or whistles, just a basic no-poo cleanser.

If you use styling products and notice your hair is stiff, frizzy with greasy roots and dry ends but notice that your hair is always softer after a salon visit, you probably need this cleansing cream in your life. I don’t care what other people say about cheaper substitutions from other brands, there is no substitute. Smells like orange sherbet candy.

I love the smell and texture of this shampoo. It makes my hair squeaky clean, which I like once a week. I wash my hair every day and use this once a week to really make it shiny and totally clean. I wish it wasn’t so expensive but it’s good for a special event where I need my hair to look flawless all day.

The first time I bought this product and used it I didn’t understand the hype. I left it in my hair for about a minute and then rinsed it out. My hair didn’t feel much different and I was unimpressed.
A couple years later I decided to try it again. This time I actually read the back of the bottle and left it in my hair for 5 minutes like the instructions say. Totally different results. In the shower my hair felt very clean, but not tangly and unmanageable. Before using this shampoo my hair was feeling very weighed down and it was looking sort of greasy and flat even right after washing. After using this my hair feels much cleaner and has more volume. My hair did feel a bit dry after using this, but I used some leave in oil and it fixed that issue. I think I’ll use this every couple of weeks. Every week seems like it would be too harsh on my hair.

I’ve been using this for several years and love it. I tried Co-washing and cleansing conditioners but could never get used to my hair not feeling clean. This shampoo is super gentle and moisturizing yet my hair feels clean. I’m having issues with fragrance (used Aveda Smooth Infusion and it made my scalp itchy) so I’m glad I can order this in unscented. It does have a faint Earthy smell from the ingredients but it’s very faint. I use this with Too Shea! or the Deep Conditioner. I’m somewhere between 2A and 3A, fine hair but lots of it with more defined curl on the top and sides than the back.

This is probably the best sulfate-free shampoo I have tried yet. I have hair that is highlighted, long and dry and this is nice and moisturizing. My scalp is also sensitive and this doesn’t irritate it at all. I would buy again but Jessicurl is very hard to obtain in the UK now and very expensive when it is (the standard size of this cost £11.95).

Edit 6/10~I returned to this after my experiment with Devacare LowPoo~my hair definitely needs the moisture this provides…I just need to be vigilant in cleansing my neck/back after using this and the Too Shea Conditioner. I’ve also used the Jessicurl Gentle Lather Shampoo, which is good for a bit more cleansing power, while still not drying out the hair.~end
I really liked this for a time, and used it regularly, but have found the ingredients too rich at times and alas gives me acne on my normally clear neck and arms, even though I wash my body afterward. Very pricey when you add in shipping. I have switched to DevaCare.
