DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! Not the conditioner or shampoo, it contains harsh ingredients like Sodium Laureth Sulfate which strip the natural oils out of your hair and leave you with dry, damaged, hair. Stay away from this product, especially if you have curly hair, it will only harm your curls. I can’t explain how much I regret buying/using this products (shampoo and conditioner from TRESemme’s Repair and Protect line).

I have fine, color-treated hair that can get oily at the roots and dry at the ends. This shampoo felt creamy as it lathered, but made my hair look as though it had been washed with straight-up detergent. The only repair aspect seems to be a coating. This is way too harsh. Maybe someone with oily hair who wanted a clarifying shampoo would like this. But it’s hardly marketed for that. Back to my Fekkai Glossing Shampoo that is free of silicones but is not drying like this one.

*SULPHATE BUILD-UP ON HAIR* this left me with “grey hairs” I thought I’d burnt my hair with the dryer, after various masks and treatments to hydrate and no change, I researched and found out that it was a salt (sulphate) deposit coating my hair. I’d used this shampoo and conditioner and not had the problem before, but after working my way through a large bottle over about a month I was left with this problem. The sulphate is used to larger up and coat the hair to make it “feel smooth” and “look shiny”. Not actually having the desired effect on the hair only making it “look” better. I won’t use it again as I spent about a week using my nail to scrape the sulphate off my hair strands.

I found this in extra size with pump at sams club. both shampoo and conditioner under $8 for both together.
I am updating review. Been useing this off and on for a month now and I like it. My hair looks thick and full.
The reviewer that stated sulfate buildup was incorrect. Sulfates do not build up. This product has a lot of biotin and that can leave a film/deposit on the hair, so I read, so it was most likely that. I have not experienced any build up and I used it over a dozen times so far.
This duo makes my hair look thick and full and salon nice.

Smells nice, lathers and rinses well, but this leaves some type of a coating on my hair. Blow drys slower and after my hair feels heavy and coated, which I find unpleasant.

I love this shampoo and conditioner so much!

I am loving the new scent, so much better than the one they used all the time. It was about time for a change!
The scent also softly lingers in the hair after you wash.
Also using this formula on my daughter’s VERY long THICK hair that is past her bum.
We braid her hair a lot, especially while she is at school, this formula claims the following.
“TRESemme repair and protect 7 system visibly repairs 7 different types of damage – brushing, blow-drying, bleaching, coloring, curling, flat-ironing and braiding with each use.”
So my final thoughts are…
I like the new scent Tresemme used in this line.
The shampoo lathers well but leaves a weird film on my hair.
It does not feel clean or like it rinses well. My sister has also tried this line and she experienced the same issue with a film left on her hair.
It just leaves it looking sort of dirty, there is a weird build up and my hair feels and most of all LOOKS like there is some type of product on it when I have not used anything other than the shampoo and matching conditioner. It lays flat against my head and almost looks like I applied too much mouse at the top of my head and did not brush it through. I had to use another deep cleansing shampoo to help remove it.
I will just use the conditioner with other shampoos instead of using them together.
The conditioner leaves hair soft and detangles very easily. I have also noticed much less shedding! If it starts to build up I will discontinue that as well.
