I wish I could rate this a 4.5. I bought this shampoo on a whim from Sephora and I’m really pleased with the results. I’ve tried at least a dozen purple shampoos in my years as a bottle blonde, and this is definitely the best I’ve used. The pigment is an intense blue-violet, the lather is rich, and it doesn’t leave my hair feeling stripped afterwards. I can shampoo twice, let it sit for a few minutes and my hair doesn’t feel like straw after rinsing. The scent is a sort of herbal salon smell, somewhat like Aveda. My hair is bra strap length, medium thickness, highlighted (balayage and icy blonde at the ends), and my brassiness by week three after coloring always drives me crazy since I’m a natural brunette. This is tied with Shu Uemura’s Color Lustre Cool Blonde shades reviving balm in terms of toning results. My only complaint(s) would be my hair is really fluffy and left feeling a little coated after using this shampoo and conditioner, but the effect on brassiness is worth it.
