Not even worth 1 lippy, dries out tour hair lie crazy and it is not nearly pigmented enough to reduce yellow tones and brassiness in blonde hair. What a waste of money. I will stick to my trusty Redken Blondage range, which is amazing!

Review for Blue Malva conditioner: Have tried MANY recommended popular toning shampoos and conditioners to reduce brassy color and with not-so-good results: dry hair, purple weird hair, no results, etc, etc, but Blue Malva conditioner is impressive especially because I did NOT want to add any red tones (since red is in purple, ) but BLUE to tone…I started out using 1/2 my regular conditioner and half Blue Malva because I was concerned about “overdoing” it; my hair is major processed-blond highlights and I’d read other people went a lavender color…. I just wanted to tone. Very happy with results; subtle. Should I want more toning I will use it full strength and work up to leaving it on longer. Nice product. Yes, no cheap, but worth it.

I have dark brown chocolate balayage hair and this blue malva conditioner helps for when my brown is too light brown and I need it to tone down a bit. 🙂 smells great.

I purchased this shampoo to use a couple of times a week on my medium brown hair, which I henna. This shampoo is a clear indigo color. I’ve heard some people say it has too much blue pigment to tone down brassiness on their blonde hair, but it works well to tone down orange/ copper on my color (lighter violet shampoos tone down brassiness on blonde hair, more blue/ darker pigments tone down orange/ copper). A couple of times a week I use this in place of my regular shampoo, leave on a few minutes, rinse and condition. I don’t find it to be drying on my hair at all. It smells of cherry almond. It’s pricey ($40), but the liter bottle should last a while.

Recently finish a 1 liter size, been using it on & off alternating with other shampoos. Not good, not bad either, no irritation. I just bought it for the smell, but …. make no mistake about it, this is a sodium laurel sulphate product, as I remember in the second ingredient listing.

I love this shampoo! Gets your hair and scalp very clean, whilst toning down brassiness. A bit pricey but worth the investment, if you have color treated blond hair.

I’ve repurchased this a couple of times. It’s a dark indigo, clear (not creamy) shampoo. It lathers well and rinses clean. The smell is sweet and candy-ish to me, and very different from other Aveda hair products, but the smell does not last, which is good.
This cleans hair really well and provides subtle anti-brassiness help. It won’t tone your hair like some of the more intense purple shampoos, but you can use it frequently and it will cut down on brassiness. It’s a tad drying so it might not be great for those with coarse or very dry hair. But on my fine hair that tends to get greasy easily, it gives me good body.

Ok so I am a highlighted blond! I have been using it for the last 14 years. I have attempted other products but this one is the one I always go back too. I feel that it works. I only wash my hair twice a week and I find that it really works on cleaning my hair after 4 days of being unwashed. Highly recommend.

This review is for the shampoo and not the conditioner which I did not try. My dark hair has been grayling for years and I do not have the patience to maintain color. Luckily, the gray was kind of pretty and sparkly with nice texture so I decided to go with it. I started going to an Aveda salon and this shampoo was suggested. First of all, I don’t love the fragrance – it reminds me of medicine. The shampoo did leave my hair clean and soft but the gray was becoming discolored and muddy looking – not what I wanted at all! It’s a huge bottle that has no pump – it apparently doesn’t come in a smaller size. Not only would I not re-purchase, I won’t use the rest of the bottle.

Love this product on my hair. I have been growing out the grey in my dyed dark brown hair for several months and could not stand the contrast between my cooler salt and pepper roots and my brassy orangey brown ends. It looked so unkempt. Blue Malva can’t hide that I’m growing out my roots, but it does make my hair look pretty in the process. My roots are pretty and shiny/sparkly and my ends are now a neutral beigy brown. I have actually been getting compliments on my shiny, pretty hair. Some have even assumed that I put the horizontal stripe in my hair deliberately, because it looks so cool.
A few words of advice. You need to leave the conditioner on for a pretty long time, at least 45 minutes, in order to neutralize the brown. Getting the grey to look good doesn’t take nearly as long, but it has never hurt my hair to leave the conditioner on for hours. Unlike other blue or violet shampoos and conditioners, it has never tinged my hair blue or violet.
The smell is nice and unobtrusive. The shampoo is not harsh, but I find that I need two latherings for my hair to feel clean. The conditioner is not heavy duty, so I occasionally mix it with a heavy-duty conditioner to keep my hair in good condition.
For me, the only way that they could improve this product is to make it less expensive and easier to find.
