They must have changed the formula of these shampoos because they used to be decent, but now they are watery- jelly-like and very drying on the hair. It feels “cheap” now. The apple scent is the only reason I give it a “2”, it smells like green apple. The scent I love, but that’s about it. Leaves my fine hair dry and frizzy. The conditioner is slightly better, so I might try it with a different shampoo. This cost $1, so no big loss.

Bought this at the Dollar tree because I needed a clarifying shampoo, but this has turned into a daily shampoo for me. Its has gentle cleansers, has no heavy moisturizing ingredients to build up (which is why you could consider it a clarifying shampoo) and leaves my normal to oily at the roots/ sahara desert dry ended hair shiny and soft. The smell is great, at first when I took a whiff in the store I thought it may be to strong but for occasional use it would be fine. Surprisingly its a soft sweet apple smell, very inviting and almost addicting for me. It smells somewhat like Suave”s Apple shampoo but not as crisp. It lathers well and rinses easy. I have paired it with its matching conditioner and used either safflower oil or baby oil (a drop or two ) as a leave in on my fried ends and my hair hasn’t been this pretty in a long long time. Good shampoo! btw the packaging has been completely updated, the bottle is more curvy and the design on the front has changed to. The shampoo itself is still clear and green but I could not tell you if its a newer formula since I have never used the older one.

I was hanging out in the dollar tree and came across this set. I’ve always loved the smell of green apples. This shampoo & conditioner is wonderful! It cleans my hair and smells AMAZING! I prefer this over the Suave Juicy Green Apple version, which, for a lack of a better tern, is to “chemical-y.” I do enjoy some of the other shampoos & conditioners from the Suave Naturals line. I am pleasantly surprised…. 🙂
I do color my hair, but I haven’t in a while. So I can’t say if this removes color or not. Just to be safe and because I love the smell so much, I will use a different brand of color safe shampoo paired with the Apple Blossom conditioner!
I remember as a kid my Mother would wash my hair with White Rain Strawberry Shampoo & Conditioner. Does anybody know where to find this? I haven’t seen it in years.

Oh my goodness! I have been searching high and low for a shampoo that does not make my scalp itch or destroy my fragile hair and I think I’ve finally found it here with this shampoo. It smells devine, gets my hair clean without drying it out, and with no itching! I’ve only seen this at Stater Brothers, but is definitely worth searching for. A side note: White Rain’s Passion Flower shampoo really rocks. Again, only can find at Stater Brothers, but worth the trip. Update 7/13/08: Oh no! I noticed when I use this my hair color just dumps! I colored my hair six days ago and I realized it’s nearly gone today, and I used a permanent color! Even Suave Naturals doesn’t do this to my hair. What a bummer.

I know fragrance is a really subjective thing but I don’t quite get why people dislike this scent…
It’s sweet but not overly so; the floral notes are dominant but not overpowering; and most importantly there is depth in the scent – you can picture yourself in a flower garden in a leisurely afternoon instead of just sniffing something sweet and that’s it.
Really, really like this; very different to the other Demeter fragrances I owned/ bought for others. This makes for a great gift for your girl friends.

so so so disappointed… i wanted to try something from Demeter for a long time and when i got an opportunity to buy a tiny tester of apple blossom, I was very excited. How big was my dissapointment though and how great was my joy that it was only a tiny cheap tester:)
i don’t want to offend anyone who likes this scent, but to my subjective nose:) it smells so cheap and so plain that it even made my bathroom smell like a public toilet… longevity on skin is almost non-existent but unfortunately the stink on clothes survives several laundry cycles! not impressed to say the least and will not take a chance with another demeter scent unless i come across a cheap tester of some of their most ‘curious’ ones

I received a little rollerball of this in my beautybox5. I was ready to hate it as I’m not into traditionally floral super feminine fragrances. I was surprised. It’s not nearly as sweet as I expected, but it is extremely CLEAN floral and when I inhale deeply, I get a tiny whiff of the most realistic flower blossom. It smells like a good soap in an upscale hotel and shockingly, I don’t hate it. It fades incredibly fast and is a skin scent but when I press my nose against my arm, it smells like I’m walking around in springtime through blossoming trees. Overall, pretty, but nothing incredible.

If I ever purchase another Demeter fragrance it will not be a floral!! I have been so disapointed with this and Fig Leaf. It smells like dirty old lady with a hint of apple sweetness.. NOT CUTE. I was hoping for a more tart, crisp scent. Not impressed :/

Apple Blossom is cozy, feminine and delicate. It’s floral and sweet without being overwhelming, and has a hint of crisp apple. It’s a bit bland so I don’t wear it that often, but it’s worth the $18 price tag.

Demeter’s Apple Blossom Pick Me Up spray is soft, fresh and gentle. It’s a whisper of the sweetness of apple blossoms. Apple blossoms really don’t have much of a fragrance, but in a large orchard you can detect that very delicate smell of sweetness that stems from thousands of blossoms. I grew up in New England — an old farm house inbetween a Christmas tree farm and an apple orchard — and I could always detect which way the wind was blowing from what smell was coming in our kitchen porch. Apple blossoms do indeed have a delicate scent that is spot on in Demeter’s version. Full bottle worthy — like so many Demeters this would be ideal to scent linens, freshen blankets and even in a baby girl’s nursery to re-refreshen the air— as it has a very delicate feminine fragrance. As a personal fragrance, I will definitely wear this one in the fall under a nice snuggly warm soft sweater.
