This shampoo is ok. I’m currently using samples and I’m not fond of the smell – it’s slightly coconut-y and thankfully doesn’t last. It lathers well and I followed with the matching Amino Acid Conditioner. Hair was a bit frizzy and static-y after blowdrying, which is strange because it’s been raining here the last couple days and somewhat humid, and I don’t normally get static outside of the winter months. I would not purchase this as there are other shampoos I like better.

This is probably the first shampoo ever that I will repurchase. For reference, I have fine caucasian hair, it’s not damaged by color or heat styling but nevertheless frizzy and dry-ish about 80% of the time, naturally weak and prone to split ends. I have tried a lot of volumizing products and none do anything for me. This shampoo however, does give my hair a noticeable volume boost. It also leaves my hair feeling soft and not crunchy like a lot of other shampoos. As an added bonus it has a very pleasant, very faint, very gentle fragrance, and it lathers up a storm despite not containing any SLS.
For those interested in minimizing toxic chemicals: I’ve looked up all the ingredients in the EWG database and none are rated toxic.
(Unrelated to this shampoo, I must mention Living Proof Style Lab Prime Style Extender in black tube. It is absolute magic for fine frizz-prone hair.)

I bought this shampoo and conditioner at the Kiehl’s store in Northbridge Shoppes on Michigan Ave in Chicago. I told the woman at the store that I was looking for a sulfate-free, moisturizing shampoo. She suggested this specific product- I confirmed with her again this this shampoo is paraben-free, silicon-free and sulfate-free. I took her suggestion and purchased the product.
After a few washes, I noticed my hair was feeling different. I was out of the country, so I chalked it up to it being the different climate/water.
Finally, upon returning home, after washing it yet again, I finally read the ingredients, did some research and found out this shampoo is NOT SULFATE-FREE.
I’m particularly upset because I receive keratin-treatments for my hair, which this shampoo has ruined because of the sulfates. Keratin-treatments are pricey, and this shampoo is a little pricey.. I’ve lost upwards of $250 because of using this shampoo 7 or 8 times.
I’m mainly disappointed because I was sold this product directly by a Kiehl’s rep at a Kiehl’s location, and was given bad information. I trusted their salesperson to be knowledgable enough to help me find the right product – I was wrong.

I have thick, fine, wavy hair and this was not great for me. My hair gets build up easily and I felt like this did very little to cleanse my hair and it would leave my hair heavy afterwards.

I received a sample of this shampoo with a Kiehl’s purchase. It was a decent-sized sample bottle that lasted me a long while.
First of all, the smell is amazing, I loved it. The product itself is gentle, non-drying, and leaves your hair feeling soft. But in my case, it also left it feeling like I hadn’t actually washed it. I agree with one of the previous reviews that says it felt like it left residue. That was the sensation it gave me. I have normal to oily, fine, straightish hair that tends to look oily the second day after washing. Well, with this shampoo that happened the same day. Once the hair was dry, it honestly felt, and looked, like I hadn’t washed my hair. And I don’t mean this positively. I don’t know, maybe it was because of the hair type? If you have more or less healthy hair that doesn’t need additional nourishing or moisture, this is gonna weigh your hair down and make it look kinda greasy. This is not a bad product, but I really don’t think it is for all hair types, as it claims. It probably helps with a dry scalp, or dehydrated hair, but otherwise, this may not work for everyone.

Totally agree with the other reviewer who had an itchy scalp. I have never had an irritated scalp but this shampoo (and conditioner) did just that. Terrible itching. Made me want to wash my hair in the middle of the night to help alleviate the itchiness. Most disappointing.. as I had seen a you tuber rave about it.

Tried this with the sunflower conditioner, it wasn’t cleansing enough for me. My hair felt like it had residue in it when I used this. Maybe it was that my hair products weren’t properly removed maybe it was the shampoo not sure which but either way it didn’t work for me. Would not repurchase.

First off, I have been battling with dry scalp for a while now. I was looking for a clean shampoo with good ingredients. I came upon this shampoo and since I like coconut I decided to give it a try. Honestly it may be a tad dramatic but this shampoo is REVOLUTIONARY for me. My hair is SO SOFT, so silky smooth and has decreased the amount of dry flakes I see on my scalp.
I honestly love this product and am so happy I tried it out. You only need a little bit and it beautifully lathers up. I didn’t even brush my hair today and it’s tangle free. The smell is not overpowering, just a subtle coconut smell which I enjoy.
It’s definitely worth a try!!! Works well with my straight, long, part-Asian hair. 🙂

*First impression*
I have thin, fairly straight hair but I have lots of it 😛 So I’ve been using this shampoo for 3 days now and this is what I’ve concluded so far: I love the smell of the shampoo. It makes your hair super, SUPER soft and shiny. It helped with my dandruff. What I don’t like about this shampoo is the fact that it weighs down my hair and makes it look a little bit oily even after just drying it. I’ve been putting a little bit of dry shampoo around the perimeter of my hair after I wash it and dry it, because that’s where I get oily most, and that seems to help. I do really like the shampoo but I’m torn. I will finish it, but I will not be repurchasing. I think instead I’ll go for the dandruff shampoo by Kiehl’s or I’ll try another one, because the brand is great.

I love Kiehl’s as a brand but this shampoo did not work for me. I liked the faint coconut scent and the creamy lather, but it left my fine hair feeling really limp and weighed down. By the end of the day, I already felt like I needed to wash my hair again. Drier hait types may have better luck with this…
