   I use the shampoo with the deep conditioner and I give it five stars. While I still have breakage on my damaged hair. I’d say it’s at least a 50% reduction so I can’t complain. It also throws in a bit of smoothing and moisture in there as well. Keeps healthy hair healthy and does the best it can to make damaged hair manageable. This definitely have my hair less tangles. I already bought a second shampoo and deep conditioner set.

   This formula is different from the Total Repair 5 shampoo and conditioner,
   The Total Repair Extreme formula contains lactic acid and ceramides Total Repair 5 contains ceramides and almond protein.

   I did not care for this formula but I would not say it is bad.
   For me, I was not impressed.
   The scent was just okay IMO.
   This shampoo made my scalp a tad itchy.
   I did notice that my hair became a little more greasy by midday.
   As for detangling the conditioner was just ok.
   It was nice and thick but really did not give much slip nor did my hair ever look healthier.
   My hair texture overall looked dull and kind of ragged.
   In fact, my hair looked dryer by the time I used up the bottles.
   I would not repurchase.

   HG shampoo. Wow! I’ve tried a lot of brands and this line is my fave.It has the right amount of lather and leaves hair soft and clean. My hair is much more manageable ever since I started using this shampoo. It’s great to find a drugstore shampoo that gives you high quality results.

   I LOVE this shampoo & conditioner. The mask is my HG conditioner. After using every “repair” shampoo & conditioner I could get my hands on…this one wins! I have heavy highlighted hair that had lost it’s luster, but this system brought healthy shine & bounce back.

   Both the shampoo and conditioner in the Total Repair 5 line left my hair dry and frizzy. I have chemically treated hair – highlights – and my hair usually love intensive moisturizing shampoos. But not this duo. I went back to my (more expensive) B&B Mending shampoo and conditioner, and my hair is happy again!

   After my awesome experience with the Total Repair Extreme mask I had to know if the shampoo and conditioner were just as awesome from this line. I got them for $4 a piece. This line is dirt cheap for how good it is. No product is over $7 or so.

   The shampoo is very rich and the lather is very creamy. Despite its richness it did an excellent job at cleansing my hair without leaving behind oils or weighing it down. I have very fine breakage prone hair but also a very oily scalp and my hair gets weighed down easily. It is a delicate balance to find products that nourish but don’t turn me into a grease ball.

   I paired this with the Total Repair Extreme Conditioner which I reviewed separately and my hair was left feeling very smooth, soft, and clean without feeling weighed down at all. My scalp feels really good after using this shampoo & conditioner, I’m not sure what ingredient caused that but it is a nice bonus.

   This shampoo has a non offensive fruity-floral scent that doesn’t hang around in my hair after rinsing. Love that the bottles are meant to be stored upside down so the product is always easy to dispense.
