Nice gradual self tanner. More color than other gradual tanners.

I was not knocked out by this gradual self-tanner. This does not have a strong scent, but it still has that self tanner aroma that lingers on your skin. Packaging claims that this will hydrate your skin for 72 hours. It does not. In fact, I did not find this moisturizing at all. It is easy to use. It is a white lotion that absorbs quickly and easily into skin. I did not have to wait before getting dressed. This product did not leave orange stains on my clothing or bedding. This product caused acne breakouts on my chest area and face. Unlike the previous reviewers, I did not get overnight results. Rather, I had to apply this three days in a row to look a shade darker, yet still not ” tan ” looking. On the fourth day of applying this I started to look like I had a hint of tan. This selt tanner gradually faded off my skin evenly. The color is not orange but a golden brown tint which I really liked.

This self tanning lotion is GREAT. I bought it as part of a set – lotion and mousse combo with mitt. The lotion can be applied with mitt for evenness or hand and does not stain because it’s a white cream instead of a colored mousse. It’s a great self-tanner, to tan you two shades darker overnight. The scent smells like a self-tanner, but doesn’t smell too strong. It dries moderately but not as quick as I want it to when I have to go to work. My skin is quite fair and this gives me the same look a mousse would. My only problem with the product is it says it’s unscented, but it has a scent. I’m so glad I came across this lotion, but I will still try other tanners out. This is on my top 5 and I would still buy another tube next time. Thanks for reading!

The skin on my face isn’t just translucently fair (with spider veins) it is also 50 yrs old, sun damaged and recently frost bitten.
I haven’t had a lot of luck with self tanners. Let me rephrase that, I’ve had NO luck with self tanners at all – until now.
I took a chance and put Vita Liberata self tanning gradual lotion on my face, neck and décolletage last night before bed.
I found it slightly difficult to use as it didn’t have a guide colour so I had no idea if I had missed any spots. I used a foundation brush to blend it as much as possible. Shockingly it didn’t have a smell.
When I woke this morning I rushed to the mirror expecting to see a streaky Ooompa Loompa looking back at me.
That didn’t happen!
This is the most natural looking self tan colour I’ve ever had.
This product is supposed to be a gradual tanner, but I’m not putting it on again tonight – one application gave me a natural looking sun kissed bronze glow and that’s good enough for me! When it starts to fade, I’ll apply it again at bedtime.
Pros:
Next to no smell.
Excellent colour results.
Used very little of the product to cover entire face, neck and décolletage.
No streaking.
Did not stain my bed linens.
I no longer look like I live in a cave.
Cons:
Product left my skin feeling super taut which was more weird than actually uncomfortable.
No colour guide, so wasn’t confident where I was putting it.
The price. I’m not a Rockefeller and this stuff is costly!
I would recommend this product to friends of all ages with fair to medium skin tones.
UPDATE: The tan began to fade on my face within a couple of days – however my neck and décolletage remained as tanned as day one. I hadn’t worn any foundation and had only applied Shiseido Benefiance serums, creams and primer. The tan faded in areas but didn’t look spotty, I really had to “look” to see where it was beginning to fade.
Before bed last night I washed my face and applied the tanner (3 pea size blobs) using a foundation brush to the areas that were fading. Then I blended what was left on the brush over the rest of my face. I continued to blend and blend. I woke this morning looking great!

This self tanning lotion is AMAZING. I bought it as part of a set, and didn’t expect to use it as much as I used the mousse and mitt it came with. Choosing to be lazy, I opted for a lotion rather than a mousse and chose this one from my collection. I don’t even think this product belongs in the range of gradual tanners, this lotion will take you two shades darker overnight, without the hassle of a mitt and a mousse. I can usually find that I can be less precise with lotions, but this one will show any mistakes right away because of how dark it gets, and that was totally unexpected. My skin is quite fair and this gives me the same look a mousse would. My only problem with the product is that it’s not tinted, it’s hard to tell where product has already been applied, but it’s not a large problem. I’m so glad I came across this lotion and won’t need to deal with tanner that are too gradual for my liking.
