Dear L’Oreal, Please take the glitter and the smell out of this self tanner. I smell and look like a stripper. Thanks, Allison. Okay but for real, the color is good. I do like the gel but it’s not my favorite. They are killing me with this glitter. I prefer the copper tone self tanning lotion but I cannot find it in store anymore . That one had the best gradual build and it felt like a lotion. This one feels like (even after it dries) a little bit sticky.

This product has its downsides but for me it is still the best drugstore sunless tanner I have found. Yes, it has a strong smell and feels sticky on the skin until I was it off. I usually put it on at night and then old sweats. However, when I shower it off in the morning I know my pale skin will be tan (its color payoff is better than other drugstore products) and as long as I’m not sloppy with the application I won’t have any streaks. The bottle lasts a decent amount of time because I only have to use one application. The lotion versions leave me streaky and breaks my face out and I don’t like inhaling the spray version which is why I prefer the gel. It also does not settle into pores and hair follicles the way some sunless tanners do and wears off evenly. St. Tropez still gives me better color than any other product (If I use more than one coat of this I end up orange) but I can’t afford St. Tropez on a daily basis.

This stuff is awful. I made a conscientious effort to apply it evenly and still ended up with areas that depict a mild case of vitiligo. I had to reapply to those lighter areas. It is not worth spending your money on. I have used a better product in the past, but because it was so expensive I tried a cheaper product and expected L’oreal to provide an equally great product, NOPE! They failed miserably.

Worst thing ever

I really like the color from this product and I love the glitter in it, but I don’t know if I came across a couple of bad bottles….but it was just insanely sticky and felt like it would not dry 🙁

This self-tanner is okay, and I’ve been using it for years. The color looks alright, but the smell stinks even after the second shower. It’s kind of not worth it when it smells as bad as it does. I think I will go for St. Tropez from now on, even though it’s expensive as shit. The horrible scent from this product just doesn’t do it for me, even though it looks good on the skin.
Final summation:
It looks okay if you apply it carefully, but stinks like fresh donkeyshit, even after a shower or two. Not worth it, even though it’s a cheap alternative.

I’ve had this product for a while, I keep forgetting about it and then rediscovering it again, and I’ve finally understood why. Its not all that great. Super greasy when you first put it on, then it sucks all the moisture out of my skin and my skin feels dry for a full day after I’ve washed it off. Gives a natural tan if you dont put on too much. Smells really bad. Won’t be re purchasing mostly because of the drying effects.

I used this product a long time ago (back in 2006-2007), but did want to write a review about my experience with this product. When I used this the product smelled TERRIBLE. Awful. My sister and I used it in college and thankfully we were the only people living in our apartment or any other roommates would have moved out for sure. It made our ENTIRE apartment smell for DAYS after using it. Our friends could smell it as soon as they walked in our house. The stuff just literally seeps in your pores and just leaves your skin dry and feeling unhealthy. It also is so hard to rub in smoothly and leaves you feeling ‘sticky’. I wasn’t happy with this item at all. Although I wasn’t thrilled with the ‘lotion’ form of this product, I did like the lotion better

This stuff is terrible!
It’s streaky, has a red-orange tint that’s very noticeable, it has shimmer (looks terrible on your face), and it’s messy.
I really think that I gave this product a fair chance. I tried to find a good application method for three days after I got it to no avail. It left my face orange and streaky. It’s nearly impossible to get this to look natural. I made the mistake of wearing this to school and by lunch most of it was rubbed off because it made my skin extremely oily. I was surprised when people didn’t ask me if I was sun burnt because this product left me a strange shade of red. I attempted to blend my face to my neck and chest but it left it streaky as well. I gave this product 2/5 because it looks okay on my legs, although this is pretty useless to me since my legs are already naturally tan. I wish I hadn’t gotten two bottles of this stuff, it’s definitely overpriced for its overall disappointing quality.
