I am not sure about the amount I should use but I could not take it off from my hands after using. I will keep using it and update.

I’ve tried them all and I always come back to this one. I am light skinned and use the medium/deep. You get nothing with the light/medium! Anyway, the color is a nice even natural looking brown after you wash off the color guide which is a scary orange color. It lasts a good time and fades evenly. Usually 2 applications a week keep me tan all summer. I’ve searched for a decent less expensive one, but still haven’t found one!

I thought I would create a review for this specific colour (medium-deep) as I only found light/medium.
Lately I have been a bit obsessed with self-tanners, simply because I am as fair as they come, and with my scandinavian skin colour I would really love some tan.
I have researched a bit and found out that Clinique’s self sun was in the top. It has a lot of great reviews, claiming not to be streaky, last a very long time, no smell, and great colour with not the slightest hint of orange.
I went to my local drugstore and bought it in medium/deep, eventhough I am very fair, because a lot of people claims that it works great with fairer skintones as well. So here’s what I think:
Colour: I must say I quite like the colour, it’s not too dark at all, so I’m not sure those with darker skintones would appreciate it as much. It’s not orange, but I have tried other self-tanners that are more deep bronze/brown than this one.
Application: It goes on quite smoothly, the consistency is a somewhat fluid lotion. This tanner does have a very vague guide-colour, so you can see where you have applied. The colour developes over the next 8 hours and turns up fairly even all over the body. Eventhough I exfoliated and scrubbed before application, and used lotion on places like the elbows, knees and ankels, those places ended up turning a bit darker, but I guess that is what you can expect.
Lasting effect: I have only been wearing this since yesterday so I’ll have to make an update on that later.
Face and Hands: I didn’t use this lotion on my face, or hands. Instead I used the Sun Spa Tan in A Can chocolate spray for that. These two tanners goes very well together.
Smell: The first 24 hours it smells really bad. It’s the classic self-tanner smell, just really strong. That’s a downside, but something you’d expect
All in all I like the Self Sun it applies beautifully, but for the price I think I will keep looking for that perfect self-tanner at a reasonable price 😉
