I have tried the drops, water, and clear mousse in medium and both the water and clear mousse are the same except that the mousse has a dispenser top that changes the water to mousse. With that said, if you have the water and don’t like how it sprays everywhere, you can buy a foaming hand soap, empty it, and add the tanning water to it.
I had my doubts about the clear water and clear mousse thinking it wouldn’t get me that dark, but after sleeping in it, the next day I was just as dark as when I applied Loving Tan in Dark. The color was very natural too – there was an ever so teensy slight tinge of orange, but it certainly was more natural than other tanners I’ve tried. It’s the most natural but darkest of all tanners. I’ll It faded after about two weeks (it really lasted a long time for me) and you couldn’t even tell it was fading because it did so very naturally.
Now for the cons (at least for me). I have really sensitive skin compared to the average person – for some reason half of the tanners I try make me itch. My go to is FakeBake Darker – this is a fried and true that doesn’t make me itch. The water and mousse Isle of Paradise made me itch so horribly for 3 weeks! I had to take Benadryl just to sleep. It’s week 4 now and I’m finally itch free. So if you don’t have sensitive skin then you’re lucky and these tanners will certainly work for you well. If you do have a sensitivity to self-tanners, I recommend doing a patch test.

Ok, so everyone saying this does not smell like fake tan? It does, just not when you first apply it. Once it develops, it smells just as bad as any other fake tan.
However, it develops quite fast, does not transfer onto clothing, dries quickly (if you don’t over-apply). The best part is that it lasts forever, which is about one and a half to two weeks in fake tan time. The worst part is that it is simply horrible to take off; scrub all of your skin off and you might still have some of it left. Something else that is saddening is that this simply won’t work on my face? Like it only tans my hairline. I’ve tried using several moisturisers as base, but I’ve come to terms with the fact that something is just wrong with me.
What else? The sprayer sucks. Water everywhere (under you nails). Can’t spray from underneath.
But, the colour is nice and the application is “easy” so I guess I’m stuck with it anyway?

People kept telling me my legs are too white. Not sure why because I got enough exposure to the sun when we hiked in Utah and walked around Vegas in 109 degrees. I have used Clarins and St. Tropez. So I know a thing or two about self tanners but I am not an expert. This product was recommended by a SA at Sephora. I took a shower, shaved my legs; applied my beloved Lubriderm moisturizer; and then this with a mit on my whole body. Within a couple of hours, my body looked like 24 karat gold. I mean beautiful tan. It got more and more beautiful as the time passed. I applied this on my face then. I first washed my face with Ponds and then applied this. No change until 3 hours later. I have been using Clinique mostly for tanning my face and L’Oreal Sublime Towelettes for my body but my God, this product is just unbelievable. I loved the color, smell, moisturizing effect, and everything about it. Highly recommended!

This intriguing tanner first caught my eye in Sephora. I’ve never tried a self tanning water before and I was curious. I like the fact you have the option to chose Light- pink, Medium- green, or Dark- violet, and its color corrective. Very cool concept. As well as the fact it’s a water! Goes on clear, light clean scent. As for the Medium, it smelled lightly of cucumbers to me. I bought a tanning mitt so as I sprayed it on I could immediately blend it out with sweeping motions. It smelled lightly of tan but not bad at all. It was lightly sticky at first but subsided as I air dried. I think it’s key to exfoliate 24 hours prior and moisturize ankles, hands, feet, elbows and knees well. I left it on for about 5 and a half hours and it left me with a gorgeous bronze glow. I think I’ll do another layer to make it darker but I’m really happy with the results!! I wish you could spray the bottle upside down because it would just make it easier to apply when by yourself. Otherwise I love it goes on clear and I’m a super big fan. The price, the gorgeous glow, colorless, what’s not the love?!?

I tried the Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops and had somewhat mixed feelings about them so I thought I would try the Self Tanning Water to see if I like that any better. I am torn on the Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Water. I like that this is affordable and you get a large quantity of product. It is a very easy application and is close to goof-proof. The tan comes on very gradually after several days of use. I tried the light of the self tanning drops and found those to be very very light so I purchased the medium. With the self tanning water I went straight to the medium shade and I’m glad I did because this develops gradually over a few days. A couple of spritz’s covers my face easily so a little goes a long way. I also use this on my arms which actually tanned easier than my face. The only thing I really dislike is how overpowering the scent is.
Isle of Paradise has really added a lot of fragrance to their Self Tanning Water. The drops had fragrance but much of it is diluted when you mix with with other products. The Self Tanning Water has a scent that does not dissipate much until you rinse it off. If you don’t mind a lot of fragrance then this won’t be an issue but if you have sensitive skin and are not a fan of a lot of fragrance then you might not like this product. I wouldn’t but this product again because of the fragrance, I will stick to their Self Tanning Drops until I run out. My video review is here: w
