I got a full size (100ml/3.4 fl oz) of this scrub in a Glossybox. I would be lying if I said that it’s a game-changing product, but I’m still really happy to have found this product and the brand. I like to keep and use this peeling in the shower. I tend to remove my makeup before I get in the shower, and when I scrub my face using this I emerge from the shower with a skin that feels smooth, clear and refreshed. I really like the idea of a moisturizing peeling, and it works well in praxis too. Reading up on the product, it says it contains shea butter, sweet almond oil and olive oil, among other things. This winter I’ve been getting really dry patches around my mouth and chin area, and after I’ve used this I’ve not only scrubbed away some dead skin, but also added some moisture to the skin so it doesn’t look quite as dry anymore. The peeling has a nice orange-y scent to it. The “scrubbiness” is natural and apparently comes from the acai tree. The beads feel a tiny bit sharp, but as long as you don’t rub the product furiously onto your face or have extremely sensitive skin I don’t think it’ll be a problem. Overall, I really like this scrub as it feels gentle enough to use quite often, and it contains some good ingredients to care for your skin which feels like an added bonus. My go-to scrub will still be Let the good times roll by Lush, but this is a great one when I want my face to feel fresh and perked up.
+ Cruelty free, as far as I can tell. Not certified, but has their own little turtle logo and the text “product not tested on animals” on the packaging. Edit: now certified by PETA!
+ Vegan (everything from the brand is)
+ Organic (certified by Ecocert)
+ Natural – no plastic beads, no chemicals
+ Fresh smell
+ Gently exfoliating and adds a little moisture to the skin
+ Really stylish and minimalistic packaging that will look good on your shelves
– Not the cheapest product (though a little goes a relatively long way)
– For me, it’s not exfoliating enough to be the only product used for peeling
– The beads can be a tiny bit sharp and scratchy
