I finished the whole bottle despite wanting to throw it away after using it once.
Packaging : lousy pump. Never had such problem with the foundation but it just cannot come out properly without spitting all over my clothes.
Product: too thin to be a primer. Only towards the bottom of the bottle, did the primer got thicker. Try shaking it, don’t think it helps much. Did not help to keep the makeup there. So my view is it’s pretty useless.
Conclusion: Expensive and ineffective. Will not buy it again

this primer broke me out. Made my skin red and itchy. I did not notice any hydration to my skin and it would cause my foundation to separate. This is why i don’t believe in primers. I have tried too many and did not like them. I just moisturize well. I gave it away to someone ho would get better use out of it.

Eh, it does an amazing job filling my pores (better than Benefit Porefessional) but I can’t stand how it sits under foundation. I like my foundation to look as much like skin as possible and I hoped that like with good powder foundations, it would melt into my skin. Howver, I tried this with many consistent performing foundations (BareMinerals bareSkin, NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop, Becca Skin Love, and NARS Sheer Glow). How do you make Sheer Glow look bad?! Also, it dries very quickly. My fingers were caked with powder because I wasn’t applying it fast enough.

Purchased a sample size through Sephora VIB and I’m shocked, floored really. I have huge pores on my nose and cheeks and this primer blurred them away all day. I have tried other primers and they did not completely fill-in these problem areas, not even Pore Professional. It’s super liquidy so dries to a white powdery film which means its super drying but it does what it supposed to do. I’ve been wearing this with 13 different foundation brands and they all have a velvety look with this foundation. I gave this product a 4 overall because of the runny consistency and you end up using a lot because it is so liquidy. Oh and it is important to use a good moisturizer with this primer preferably something heavy since the primer is so drying. Love it.

When I tested this product at Sephora, it seemed to have a thicker consistency. The texture was soft and felt like it would be a good purchase for someone like me with combo skin. When I used the product the next morning, the pump sprayed product all over the place. I had some of this stuff on my shirt, my bathroom mirror, even the light fixtures. I thought maybe I was using it wrong, so I shook it more and the same thing happened the next day. The only way I use this now without wasting half the product all over the bathroom is to unscrew the cap and pour it out either on my hand or a beauty blender. Oh, and the product itself, while not terrible, is kind of thin and watery. The light apricot color doesn’t really do anything on my skin. I’m not sure if I got a dud or it’s just a bad primer.

A complete loser in my books…. is not at all what I expected after reading these reviews. Start with the bottling which would be fine for a thicker product. But, Becca Velvet Blurring Primer is like colored water. Shake first, then press down the applicator and it squirts out like water, runs down the hand and drips. When you’ve cleaned up the waterfall and apply to face, it needs multiple applications to make any difference as a primer. Quite possibly, the worst experience and most expensive mistake I’ve made in a long time! Straight to the garbage can for that one.

Where do I start.
It felt super smooth when I tested it @ Sephora. Decided to give it a try and I am disappointed.
First, like some reviews have already mentioned, it somehow emphasizes dry areas. I had a zit few days ago and this product emphasizes the dry skin around that area!
Packaging — Bottle looks very pretty but the pump is sh*t.
Honestly I feel RMK make up base does a better job as a primer. I do not recommend this product for people with dry skin. Those with oily skin perhaps could give it a try?
Good luck.

It’s a shame I don’t have 3 faces because I love all 3 of the Becca primers that I’ve tried. I own the Backlight Filter Primer and the First Light one (the pale purple) and I’m working off a sample of this lovely and aptly named Velvet Blurring Primer. It really does perfect, as the name suggests, and gives a velvety and soft focus effect to my face. This comes in an opaque pump bottle (I’m guessing this protects the product from the light) and I was surprised when it came out a peachy flesh tone. This primer does what most of expect from a good primer – it enhances the application and also extends the wear and keeps it looking fresh. The bonus is the gorgeous velvety finish it imparts. As with the other 2 Becca primers, I will even wear this without foundation because it makes my skin look nicer – brighter and more perfected. The problem is that I need to finish up one of the primers I already have before buying a new primer….because I only have just one face!

My pores almost disappear completely, unlike any other blurring primer that I have ever tried. I only need a pump and it covers my whole face. Foundation glides on effortlessly and it definitely makes my makeup last so much longer. I thought it would be very watery when I first pumped it out into my hand but it dries like VELVET, exactly what it says it does. It feels so good on my skin and mattifies my combination skin. I have nothing but good things to say about this primer..

This is a nice addition to the collection of Becca’s primers. This does a great job of blurring imperfections and did extend wear time of foundation. The only time I had issue with it was when I used it on top of sunscreens. I usually use foundations that contain SPF, but when I don’t I use a separate SPF. I think the separate layer of the SPF was too much because the primer did pill over it. So if you don’t use a lot of layers underneath the primer this one will work well for you.
