It pains me greatly to write negative reviews but this is first of all like hairspray because of the high alcohol content. Water & alcohol for $24??!! Hairspray works better. My MU looks like I had slept in it. I normally put primer on then spray 2 coats of this (always let dry between) then fdtn & evthing else done up then 2 coats last thing I do b4 lippies & I think elf works just as well. Wetnwild is better! I’m just going to use this up, I am very disappointed in this, I have very extreme oily skin & im starting to think plain hairspray is a cheaper more effective alternative. This does not make my skin as sticky as hairspray (use at ur own risk; I’ve heard hairspray isn’t the safest or best used as a setting spray). This is my 1st (& last) cinema secrets purchase. Very disappointing.

It was my first time using a product by Cinema Secrets and I was highly disappointed in this product. I was in a hurry one afternoon, makeup on, and sprayed one pump all over my face. First of all, I think too much product comes out which causes it to run on contact. Secondly, it made my makeup look terrible when it dried! Thinking everything was going to be fine while letting it dry, I got my stuff together and checked the mirror before heading out. I was SO surprised that my makeup looked cakey, spots were splotchy all over one side of my face and entire forehead. When I tried to touch it up, it made things worse. I had to reapply my makeup and ended up using my original setting powder instead. Not sure what went wrong here, however I could tell the makeup was not going to move. It may have been the type of makeup I was wearing, or too much product caused it to crease. However, I give it two stars for it’s sealing power. I may give it another test try when I’m not going out, but it turned me off immediately. I’ve been dying to give Cinema Secrets makeup products a try and this will not change that, looking forward to trying out their foundation palette next!

About me: NW13-20 (neutral-cool toned, very fair), dark gray- blue eyes, Color season is True Summer, Baumann Skin Type is OSPW/DSPW.
This spray does make a difference in makeup’s longevity, but I’m not sure I’m satisfied with the result. Is it HG? not really. My makeup definitely starts to break down around the 8 hour mark still. I like that it comes in a big refill size and small purse-friendly sizes. It’s not too expensive. But it does feel a bit like hair spray on the face, and doesn’t do its job as well as I’d like. I’ve repurchased multiple times, but I will probably look for a replacement product.

You can definitely smell the alcohol content in this. It is reasonably priced. But it does not provide the longevity or gorgeous finish of Skindinavia’s BF. The nozzle was terrible – it squirted liquid at my face in a stream instead of lightly misting. Not sure if I’ll buy this again as I ever so slightly prefer the other CS setting spray’s more dewy finish even though this one is marginally better for longevity.
Setting sprays ranked from best to worst in terms of effectiveness:
1. Skindinavia Bridal Finish
2. NYX Dewy Finish
3. Cinema Secrets Moisture Spray
4. Cinema Secrets Super Sealer
5. e.l.f. Studio Make Up Mist & Set Spray
N.B – this is almost identical to my other CS setting spray review as the only difference (that I could see) between them was the smell & that this one produces a slightly more matte effect than the Moisture Spray.
