I received two 1 oz. samples. You do not need a moisturizer with this product and it did not make my sensitive skin break out. My skin felt smooth, silky and moisturized but did nothing for pores. I ended up using it as a hand and body lotion which did not leave my skin feeling tacky or greasy. Too many bad ingredients to actually purchase.
Ingredients: Water, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Dimethicone, Propylene Glycol, Cyclomethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dimethiconol, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Extract, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Extract, Centaurea Cyanus Flower Extract, Lecithin, Bisabolol, Triethanolamine, Carbomer, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Titanium Dioxide, Mica

I really, really wanted to love this primer. Something that has skincare properties that makes my makeup wear beautifully. I am sad to say, this did not deliver for me.
I have combination skin with minimal issues to address. For reference, I purchased the tinted version, which leaves a subtle, luminizing finish. My skin felt nice after applying and I keep using it because it wasn’t cheap and it has resveritol, but I will not be repurchasing.
I saw no difference in the wear of my makeup using this and haven’t seen much in the way of skin improvement either. My pores are still there and the t-zone oiliness is still there midday. I was certainly not expecting miracles, but I’ve had equal success using oil of Olay serum as a primer. I do love the packaging, with the twist top and squeeze delivery. I suspect this will last awhile, I’m just not stoked with the results.

Over 45 forget it. It’s a weird texture that is shiny and makes my skin sweat. There are better primers all over make up alley…..

I USED A SAMPLE
First the good : If you have dull skin, and want something to add to your routine that will brighten your visage this may be worth a look. Also, despite the packaging, many of the ingredients were impressive : There are antioxidants, skin identical ingredients, & anti-irritants included. The water binding agents and acrylics will provide a seamless canvas for foundation. This contained a natural colorant:’beet vulgaris extract’, that I found interesting. It is okay for dry skin. It did not pill, roll up or flake on me,
Alas, the packaging will not contain the antioxidants, so this can feel good on your skin , yet you will be missing out on the antioxidant potential before long. This also has ‘witch hazel’, and ‘wine extract.’In theory witch hazel seems like a good idea as it can restrict pores, but it only seems to do that by irritating them, So, your pores may seem smaller temporarily , but the effect is short lived, and it damages your skin more in the long run. This also has ‘wine extract’. I am not sure what to make of that, but I would err on the side of caution. On the one hand this could be used as a coloring agent, and it could theoretically be an antioxidant, it can also add to the appearance of smaller pores. However, due to its alcohol content it could also be irritating.
Now on to the wear this will temporarily reduce pore size and if you layer your other products carefully it will provide a good base for foundation. What I believe will really divide people on it is its cast. The tone has a rose-gold/ peach like cast to it that some people will love, and others will not. If you are warm skin toned, have rosacea ,or red acne marks this could exaggerate the problem. On the other hand if you have sallow skin this pink cast and the ‘eye-bright’ in here can brighten your skin to a radiant hue.Be aware though using this colored primer as a pre -base might not mesh with your foundation /concealer and throw off your final end look.
As for skin types dry skin types may like this best. This leaves a dewy finish if that is something you prefer. To me if felt like a light weight lotion that never really sinks in.
My experience: This did not pill on me which is definitely worth noting. I hate products that do that , and it seems nearly impossible to come across a lotion/ serum/ cream that doesn’t do that. But you still have to layer your makeup carefully waiting for it to completely dry before applying anything else, and avoid rubbing. Honestly, I did not notice if this helped my makeup last longer during the day, but it did not seem to make it worse. So there you go, this all in all is an okay product but there are some things worth mentioning, and it could be better. I hope my review helped some of you.

This has to be the worst primer I have ever used. I wore it under smashbox 15 hour foundation and the foundation just sat on top of my skin. I looked chalky, ‘dusty’ and felt dry. I will stick to smashbox primer this stuff is junk.

I had always heard mixed reviews about the Spackle primers so I was apprehensive about ever trying them – until I saw this one. This new primer claims to be “SUPERCHARGED with soothing botanicals and age-fighting antioxidants that help promote skin elasticity and protect from free radicals: DC Detoxdefense™ (a powerful cocktail of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and phospholipids), polyphenol-rich Wine Extract and Resveratrol, plus Aloe, Beet Root, Centella Asiatica and White Tea Extracts” (product description from the Laura Geller website). I haven’t been using it long enough to notice any anti-aging effects but I do feel like this product is actually improving my skin. Since I began using it I’ve noticed my skin has become smoother and more supple. A coworker of mine noticed a big difference in my skin after using it for a few days. I would give it five lippies if it controlled oiliness a little better. After a few hours I have to blot and re-apply powder. However I am willing to ignore that because of the other benefits I’m noticing. Overall great primer and skincare product.
