So far I love the packaging: looks very high-end. However, I love e/s primer potions, love all nighter foundation but this primer I really do not think it does very much. I mean, I can clearly see my pores when I put make up on. I really have a feeling it makes my face smooth on the touch of my hand but in regards of make-up, I really do see all of my pores, especially on T-zone.
P.S. I have combination skin.
That above was my initial thought and then I spent it. And went to buy another primer and I was thinking maybe I should try the optical illusion but hated the smell. And the guy (a guy!!!, after all the girls in the beauty I talk to) told me: take this primer into hands, rub it between fingers to warm up and apply.) Like literally, instantly when I tried that it worked so good on my skin. My pores are really less visible. All it needs is warming it up.

I bought this on a whim per the recommendation of an Urban Decay sales assistant and I reallyyyy regret not doing my homework beforehand because omg this primer is awful!
It’s got a strange vaguely gritty texture which does not feel pleasant on the skin and no matter what I do (and trust me I’ve tried pretty much everything- moisturising before, moisturising after, applying with various brushes/sponges, changing up the way I rub/pat it into the skin ETC ETC!!) I fear I’m just going to have to bin it which given it wasn’t particularly cheap (£23) is immensely distressing for a broke student like me, wah.
It seems to highlight the most minuscule of dry patches and fine lines/hairs so that regardless of how well you do your foundation your skin looks dry and flawed. It also leaves an ashy white cast to your skin which is not a hot look on me and I have a virtually white complexion so I can only imagine how much worse that would look on dark skin!
I rarely ever bother writing reviews but I felt I had to warn people about this one because I can’t imagine this stuff working on any type of complexion, just 100% one to avoid. For reference I have combination skin leaning more towards the dry side so if you have predominately dry skin I would say don’t even think about it!! Save your coins sis.

I like the way this primer completely evens out your skin tone like no other. But I feel like it makes any dry patches really stick out. It felt really matte on my skin.

I love the urban decay eyelid primer, so when they came out with this one I was so excited! But unfortunatly, I was SO dissapointed. For reference, I have combination, acne prone skin thats more towards the oily side. I found that this primer did not allow my foundation to properly ‘melt’ into my skin. Its like it just slicked overtop. It made my pores look smaller before foundation was applied, but after foundation it seemed as if they were showing through even more. Upon applying, it made my foundation seperate on my skin, which it never had before with smashbox primer or even worn alone. My oil came through easily and it even seemed like it made my foundation fade faster (within 5 hours). My redness (which isnt even that severe) and oil were showing through even in that short time. Will not be buying again.

Okay don’t hate me but I’m gonna start of this review by saying I actually like this better than smashbox photofinish. Hear me out: with the smashbox photo finish my under eyes were creasing like crazy even if I baked. With this primer they still crease but it’s not as noticabe. Also since it’s a pump it’s easier to control how much product you get. This stuff is amazing and I 100% recommend. The only thing is it kind of makes your foundation bunch up a bit but nothing to severe. Okay it only bunches up if yo rub it in. Slap it on to yourskin instead. I think that’s what you’re supposed to do with primers that have silicone in them anyways.

Urban Decay have brought out new skincare Spring 2017 and this is one of the primers. It. Is. Fantastic.
So, a bit about my skin. I have combination skin which is generally quite unblemished, but I do have rosacea any my cheeks in particular are very red. I don’t get on with silicone primers, they do nothing to enhance the appearance of my foundation and certainly don’t stop it wearing off over the day. I use UD All Nighter Setting Spray which makes my face bomb proof. I love it.
I was drawn to this product as I’ve been working really hard on using appropriate skincare to clear my rosacea and it’s *almost* there. Almost completely clear and not red. I wouldn’t feel embarrassed to go out with no make up on now, but I wanted something that wasn’t make up to just air brush any imperfections without necessarily covering them if that makes sense? I tried this and the Optical Illusion primer (the pink one) and this was better.
The texture is not as liquid as the Naked Skin foundation, it’s quite creamy. It’s white with little grey specks in it. When applied to the skin, it corrects to your skin tone and evens it out. I’m white and quite pale, but I watched YouTube video where a much darker skinned woman tried it and she was pleased, said it didn’t give a grey cast to her skin.
It is silicony, but not as silicone as some – for example the Smashbox Photo Finish primer or Benefit’s Porefessional. I didn’t get on with either of those. This goes on beautifully, my foundation goes on beautifully over it, and even without the setting spray my make up lasts the whole day with no wear and no clumping, just a bit of oil breakthrough on my nose.
I like the packaging, and considering I use two pumps for my whole face, I think £23 is pretty decent, for a product that works!
I would and will buy this again, and am hoping that I’ll soon have the confidence to go out bare faced!
