This primer really does makes a difference on foundation application which is smoother and more even appearance. Longevity is also increased and doesn’t break me out. Oil control isn’t impressive – but I’ve never found a product that makes a big difference in this department – and the price is rather high.

Bobbi Brown has a new collection of primers available, which in my opinion are very much like what Nars or Smashbox are offering already so if you are using one of these from another brand, save yourself some money on this quite frankly average at most mattifying primer.
It gives a very delicate cooling sensation on application and consists mainly of silicones, so I don’t quite get how they got that unpleasant grainy effect on application. The consistency makes you worried if it all is not going to ball up!
Luckily it does not do that but it sadly does not mattify either. The foundation goes on smoothly but the greasy shine comes through on me at my usual 4th hour of wearing foundation, no matter if I’m wearing this product underneath or not. Which means that it simply does not work. I was hoping that this base will prevent this (and I don’t have a very oily skin! Just a problem with a combo of a shiny forehead and a fringe – these two don’t mix together well) but it does not do that. I still need to blot and powder, the look of my pores remains unchanged.
It does not make you look completely matte, flat and lifeless but it does not prevent the shine either so I don’t quite get the purpose of this product. It does not even work well as an eyeshadow base though preventing my Bobbi eyeshadows from creasing, I think it gave me an eczema on my eyelids. One star.

This is an excellent primer for oily skin. I am very happy with it. I use it under my BB Longwear foundation and it lasts far longer than most. You must work fast with it and spread over your face quickly or it may ball up on your hands.
