My skin is fair with golden undertone and a lot of foundations I have bought online are too dark for me.(for reference some foundations I can use are: Mac Face and Body C1, Nars Gobi,WetnWild Soft Ivory,Bourjois Healthy Mix 51,Loreal True Match 1D/1W,Catrice HD shade 10,Huda Beauty Filter Faux Panacota 130G),I read in some reviews that there are some products out there to lighten the shade of foundations.I searched about them but none are available in my country except Catrice Lightening Drops, and it’s only 5 USD so I didn’t hesitate to order it
The word “Drops” in it’s name made me think it’s a liquid but no,it has a thick texture.I also thought it’s going to be white but it’s color is like a truely fair foundation with peachy undertone.first I tried it as primer and applied it directly to my skin, bad idea,it’s too drying and too dificult to blend and spread on my dry skin.so thick that it showed every line on my skin and on my fingers.the other time I mixed a little bit of it with a dark foundation and yay,it worked.it made my foundation lighter without changing it’s undertone.a little bit of it makes foundation a shade lighter.first time I tried it with WetnWild Coverall shade 819/medium,a foundation I love but this is the only shade I was able to find and it’s oompa loomla dark orange-brown on me,very very dark for me(my right shade is 815/fair),by adding a bit of Catrice Transformer Lightening,it changed to 816/fair-light,still a bit dark but wearable.probably I could have had my right shade by adding more but I felt if I add more it’s going to be too thick
This product, lightens foundations without changing their undertone dramatically, without making them greasy and it really makes makeup stay put and last longer on my face.I also feel it adds a little bit to foundation’s coverage but, maybe I’m too skeptical but I feel it also changes foundations in negative ways: it makes them feel and look more heavy, thick, more drying and more cakey.maybe I’m just hallucinating,or maybe it has to do something with my dry skin because I gave it to my sister and she loves it
I don’t really like it and won’t repurchase it but I’d still recommend you to give it a try.it comes in a 15 mil plastic tube, but it’s cheap and a little goes a long way so it can be a great buy if it works for you
