I have really dry skin & this just settled in to my pores & then my foundation looked bumpy, not smooth. It did keep my foundation on all day but i need something more moisturizing that smooths my skin. And it’s very expensive.

First off I did not and would never apply this all over my face.
I did enjoy using it when I needed to look polished but did not feel like applying much makeup.
The way I applied this was to the high points of my face before applying a light layer of my foundation only where needed. It gave the skin that dewy fresh glow without being too much.
The cons are that it did not last all day and makeup wore off in these areas much faster than normal.
If you like more of a subtle highlight with a lit from within glow this may be something to try.
Personally, I would not repurchase.

I got a little sample tube with purchase and since Smashbox usually makes good primers I was curious to try it out. This is a bronzy colored primer which matches with my NC30 skintone, it does not give much color anyway but more of a light sheen. I have dry skin and I don’t think this is for me, it does not feel very moisturizing and it clings to dry patches. I recommend the Smashbox primerizer over this one.

I got this in a sample size from ipsy. I don’t find it does anything to elongate my foundation wear time but if I mix a dollop of this with my foundation and buff it on, it does give me a fresh, dewy look. It’s nice but I wouldn’t spent the money to buy a full size one since a lot of drugstore primers or liquid highlighters would give me the same effect.

I liked the Light version of the regular one so I thought id try this one. Im so glad I got a
the travel size one. I don’t dry skin & found the primer clung to dry patches which weren’t even there. I found this one a little thick. Would try the blue hydrating one or get the light version but defense not this. didn’t even make my skin glowy

Really nice primer.. Skin feels very silky and smooth after applying but can only be worn with a tan or olive skin. As I am a natural milk bottle this remakes wreaked havoc but leaving me with an Oompa Loompa face which was not blend able at all
If you have a nice tan/olive skin this is a different kettle of fish as it’s amazing… It blends really well and sets your face well for applying foundation and you can definitely notice a different in the way the foundation looks with and without it..
So I don’t think I would buy again as I can only wear it one way and will probably stick to the normal colour correct

This made me look like a disco ball in natural light and it did absolutely nothing to control oil…YUCK.

I got a sample of this from a Smashbox rep at Ulta. I love it. I was worried it would make my face look greasy. It did not. I apply my cerave moisturizer then the Smashbox primer and then finally my Urban Decay Naked Skin. I think this primer gives the skin a perfect glow without looking greasy. It kept my makeup on. I like this primer more than the Hourglass and possibly the Porefessionals. My skin is more normal to dry in the winter and more normal to combo in the summer. I have larger pores and sensitive skin. This hasn’t broken me out.

I work at Sephora and this is one of the samples I took home. I love it! It helped my Urban Decay Naked last throughout work (since it has a tendency to fade after several hours wear) and it truly gave my skin that perfect glowing look!
But if you have oily skin, I would advise against this. I have a normal skin type. I’m not sure about dry or combination skin, but I would suggest you ask other people first.
I personally love this product because you don’t need a finish powder/luminizer (though I use this glitter powder around my t-zone and brow bone) so it’s a two-in-one! It is pricey but you only need a little bit to cover your whole face.
I took a sample of Tarte’s Amazionian Clay Foundation because I liked the idea of full coverage foundation, so I’m not sure how that will be over this product.
But overall I think this primer is my next Sephora purchase. I will update this if it changes for any reason.
UPDATE: I noticed that you need a bit more product than you do for most primers. It isn’t a big concern for me, but it’s not as heavy as other primers I’ve tried before. Especially if you really want that luminous glow, you really need to add on the product. I also noticed users were complaining about how this product is tinted. I’m caucasian with warm undertones, yet am pretty pale, and I didn’t notice the tint being an issue, I still recommend this product strongly for the glowing effect and overall being a good primer.

I will buy a different Smashbox primer next time, just not this particular one. It definitely helped with foundation application. It is not good for cool skin tones though – but if you are a medium warm, it would probably be great for you. On my NC15 skin, it just looked orange unless I used a very, very thin layer. I much prefer the green color correcting one.
