I’m surprised there aren’t many reviews for this. I love it! My lashes are fairly long, but they’re super thin and pale, so I use a primer everyday to beef them up before applying mascara. This was recommended to me by the Sephora SA after my beloved MUFE lash primer was discontinued. I fell in love with this, and have bought two tubes since. Now it’s discontinued, and I’m not liking their new primer, Opening Act, as well. The new brush is larger, and more spiky, and it hurts my eyes. I might have to take the brush out of my last tube of MultiplEye and use that in Opening Act and see if that makes it any better.

I love Tarte, and Lights, Camera, Lashes is my favorite mascara in the world, so when I saw this lash primer, I pulled the trigger pretty quickly.
I tried this a couple different ways: with Tarte mascaras, with other mascara brands, letting it set before applying mascara over it, applying mascara right away, etc. I even wore it a couple times on only one eye to see if I could “see a difference.”
I’ve concluded that, while it may do something, it’s not much. If anything it separates my lashes really well so that my mascara looks better because it is able to coat each lash rather than clumps of lashes. I think it also helps with fallout a bit, either because it “glues” the mascara to the lash better, or because the primer dries clear, and you need to use less actual mascara when you prime first, so a lot of the fall out is the clear lash primer rather than dark mascara and you just don’t see it.
Ultimately, I can get the same separation the primer gives you by using a lash comb before applying my mascara. And while multiplEYE does seem to help with fallout, if you have a lot of trouble with fallout, you should probably be rethinking your mascara instead of adding lash primer to your beauty arsenal. You do have to use less mascara if you use lash primer first, but you’re buying two products instead of one, and both start drying out after a few months anyway, so you’re not exactly saving any money.
My conclusion? Lash primer (at least Tarte’s lash primer) is a totally unnecessary and superfluous beauty purchase. I love Tarte, but this was a dud. I wouldn’t bother.

I got this as part of a kit. i wouldnt necessarily buy these on my own but it did a decent job of creating fuller lashes.

I purchased this because I am a sucker… OK no, just kidding… I purchased this because during this months Ulta 21 day sale they were selling my fave Tarte mascara at half price so while stocking up, I grabbed one of these lash primers to try as it was half price as well. Sadly though, I wasn’t impressed at all.
I was really bummed out by this product. First off, its really hard to get a coat of this out of the tube/onto the wand, if that makes sense. It took 2-3 swipes before I got any application onto my lashes which was really odd. Second off, and MOST importantly, it made my mascara application lumpy and clumpy – I use Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara which ALWAYS applies well and never clumps no matter how many coats ya use. So these two products together (which you would think would complement eachother) basically managed to turn a wonderful high end mascara into the type of formulation I’d get via the cheapest and worst drugstore brand. No bueno. Last but certainly not least, this sh@t did not lengthen, thicken, or volumize at all – well, unless you consider clumps thickness. For better reference, I have been using Latesse for almost a year now so my lashes are already really long so I wasn’t expecting miracles there, BUT this weighed them down and actually made my lashes look shorter if you can believe that. As a Latesse user I was hoping for some thickness but as I ranted about already, got terrible results. Oh yeah, and this is $22 bux! WTF??!!! They have a lot of nerve charging abt the same as Lancome does for their Cils primer which is waaaaay better. This is also really drying (can’t be good for the lashes) and the square packaging is unnecessarily bulky.
Yuk, don’t bother with this product as there are better ones out there in the same price range.

Got this as part of a mascara gift pack from Sephora. We don’t have the brand Tarte where I live so it’s always interesting to try new products and brands I don’t see that often.
I like Tarte and the fact that they try to be organic, at least they are made without a lot of the more scary ingredients such as parabenes and phatalates.
Since this was part of a gift pack, I only got a trial size. I don’t know about the original packaging but this one is a white squared plastic tube with purple print. Looks a bit clinical.
It has a mascara wand. The product itself is like a white mascara.
It is supposed to increase lash volume by 739 %. Does it deliver? Not sure about the 739 % but the lash volume does increase quite a lot. Would definitely give it a go with the Tarte mascara. The result is supposed to be even better if you use the right kind of mascara from Tarte. I used a different one from the one they recommended, all I had at hand was the one called Lights, camera, lashes. Still worked fine though.
I have to agree with other reviewers though, this works well with Tarte mascara, but not with other mascaras. Tried it as a base with a mascara from Lancome on top and it clumped and looked awful.
It is also supposed to increase lash length with regular use. I did not see a big difference in my lash length.
The primer goes on like a mascara. When your lashes is covered in white goo it looks weird, but as soon as you get the regular mascara on the white disappears .
Would definitely buy this with a Tarte mascara, but pass if you prefer a different brand because it does not work well with other brands.

Only works for tarte mascaras. If used with any other it just makes that mascara look bad. But when used with a tarte mascara it works really well

This product came in the The Best for Lash Deluxe Eye Set. I have long but very straight lashes; what primarily I look for in a mascara is not lengthening or volumizing effect but it’s ability to hold curl.
The first time I applied this, I had already curled my lashes and I was horrified as I saw my lashes slowly sinking downwards with the weight of the formula. HOWEVER, I found that after I let the primer dry completely, I was able to curl them back up with no problem at all. I stopped bothering to curl before applying this and just curled after I let it dry. Another thing I love about this is that my lashes remain just as soft as they would be without any product on them. I can easily separate any clumps buy just running my finger across my lashes or by using an eyelash comb without ripping any lashes out.
It does have a lengthening effect but not much volumizing. The only reason I only give it a 4 is that, with the standard brush, it is difficult to only get a little of the product on; you really don’t need a lot to add length. As for the price, I don’t think I would have gotten this by itself but it was a pretty good value with the set. The packaging is understandably minimal; there is no need for flashyness because you literally cover the product up anyway. It isn’t completely odorless. There is a very slight cosmetic-y scent to it but it is barely noticeable and I am very particular about how things smell. Overall, I am very satisfied but I probably would not bother buying the full size on its own as it is just not necessary.

I had so many problems with this lash primer. The two most serious were: 1. It is so difficult to apply this evenly on the lashes, I feel like I have to go over them again and again. and 2. I could not tell any difference with or without this primer – in terms of length, volume, or holding a curl…. save your $.

This lash primer was clumpy and took a long time to distribute the product evenly onto the lashes. I think it is the applicator wand that is the big problem here. Regardless, most mascaras come with lash-building fibers that accomplish the same mission and save you a step.

Bought this lash primer when my Urban Decay lash primer was sold out at Sephora. I don’t notice ANY difference between using this with mascara vs not using it. Definitely won’t be repurchasing. If you are looking for a lash primer that actually works and will lengthen and thicken your lashes – get the Urban Decay one. Don’t waste your money on this one!
