I agree with the reviewer right below me about the dropper-I find it difficult to get the dropper to hold on to the product. Maybe some of them are not as good as others. I pull the product in, and then when I pull the dropper out, the product starts to drip out of the dropper before I am ready to release it. Otherwise, I like the packaging, it is pretty clever and it is nice heavy glass. I did read in online reviews that it can leak in travel, however, so I would not travel with it. On to the product itself. I bought it primarily to try under some of my dryer foundations, and it does really help a lot with them. It smooths my skin out and helps it stay smooth and moisturized throughout the day. I don’t find it to feel greasy. My skin is on the dryer side these days. With any foundation that is not a dryer, more matte one, I can find that I might need to blot a bit with this, but nothing bad. I really do not think this would be a good fit for oily skin, but I guess I could be wrong. I would not use it if I still had really oily skin. I think I would be blotting all day. But for normal to oily skin, it is really nice. I am not sure if makes my makeup last longer. But it does allow me to wear my long-wearing foundations, which tend to be my more drying foundations, so thats great.

This primer is really good. I have other primer and i always good back to this one. Its make my makeup go on really smooth and hydrate my skin as well. It has a mild scent to it tho nothing to strong. The only thing i don’t like is the dropper. I try to grab the fluid up with the dropper and it comes right back down. The dropper doesn’t hold the product and another dropper for it.

I purchased my bottle on Ulta.com for $13.99, and it comes with 0.67 fl. oz. or 20 mL. The bottle is clear and glass, and the the best part about it is the dropper. It has a really neat mechanism where if you turn the bottle to open it, the middle button pops up and you press down on that same button to get product using the dropper. I’ve seen high-end bottles that aren’t even this nice, so kudos to NYX. The color of the oil is a light yellow, and this is supposed to be a dupe for the Smashbox Oil Primer which is very expensive at $42…I’ve personally never tried it. The NYX oil has a sweet and faint scent that is so pleasant and goes away as you let it sink into the skin.
I know that this says that it’s a primer, but I don’t use it to prolong my makeup because I already have other products for that. I bought this because my oily/combination skin sometimes gets dry during fall and winter with the use of my mattifying foundations. I am thoroughly impressed with how affordable and effective this is at making my skin look healthy and plump. These are my steps:
1. Spray Skindinavia primer spray and let it dry
2. Apply 2-3 drops of NYX Hydratouch all over face
3. Apply Smashbox Photo Focus primer on cheeks
4. Lightly dust a layer of Laura Mercier translucent setting powder all over face
5. Apply face makeup as usual.
6. Set face makeup with Skindinavia Oil-Control setting spray.
When I do these steps, my makeup lasts ALL DAY AND my skin looks plump with the oil. Without the oil, it looks dry and flakey.
The only gripe I have would have to be that if you store the bottle sideways in luggage, it will spill just a little bit. Make sure to close it tight and to wrap it with a tissue to avoid a mess. You could always put the oil in another container too! All in all, I would def purchase this again because it’s excellent!

I bought this and never tried it out – returned it immediately. Not because it didn’ work – but because I have sensitive skin and this is very scented. It’s not perfumed, but I think it’s the almond oil that gives it a nice sweet scent. I liked it – but I hesitate putting anything scented on my skin, so if you are sensitive, be aware.
I think the vial and dropper were really neat, so I liked the packaging and it’s glass and feels very heavy.

After using this primer for a couple of months, I can definitely say that it is a winner for me. It has a light scent, but it doesn’t irritate my skin. The oil glides on smoothly, even over sunscreen and other skincare products, and after about a minute it is ready for foundation to go on top. The packaging is nice, and the dropper is pretty precise, BUT it does leak a little if it is tipped onto its side. I found this out when I took it on vacation with me, as a small amount of product got out into the bottom of my travel case. Stored upright it is no problem, though. My skin is pretty dry, and of course putting foundation and powder products on can leech moisture from the skin, so this acts as an effective barrier at preventing that. It also feels very lightweight compared to other primers as the oil melds with the skin. I’ve tried this with several different foundations (Becca, MUFE HD, WnW Photo Focus, NYX Total Control, Revlon Colorstay) and it doesn’t really negatively affect the wear time of any of them. For very matte foundations, it keeps them from looking dry or cakey, but it doesn’t make them appear greasy. While the improvement in wear time overall is pretty small, it is magic for preventing my foundation from breaking down. I’ve had this problem for a very long time with pretty much every foundation I have used, and I am thrilled that I finally found a product that helps to prevent this. Finally, if I want to boost my glow, I mix in one drop of illuminating liquid (Cover FX or Revolution) and three drops of the primer oil, and this combo makes my skin look very luminous but not too shiny or reflective. As a primer, this product definitely does everything I want it to and then some. If you have oily skin or want your foundation to wear longer this may not be for you, but if you want a skin-loving primer that will make your foundation look and feel better then definitely try this.
