I never met a Besame product I didn’t like, and this is no exception.
I have olive skin with cool undertones, so a lot of powder shades don’t work on me, but violet is my HG. This pressed powder does miracles. Sets my makeup nicely, and leaves a soft, matte finish. It seems to last longer than others I’ve used. Just dab it on, swoosh it with a soft brush and you’re ready to go. If you’re not sweating bullets, it’s good all day with just minimal touchups. It never looks cakey or built up, but it hides a multitude of minor flaws. It has a soft violet scent in the compact that you don’t really notice when you’re wearing it.
The little rose gold compact with the Besame chrysanthemum logo is stunning all on its own. It opens with a little push button, something you don’t see these days. It’s refillable (the refills are only $15) so your initial cash outlay of $42 is a one-time thing. There’s a magnet inside the bottom part that keeps the pan of powder in place. And you get a little red velveteen bag to keep it in so it doesn’t get dinged or scratched.

It’s also available in French Vanilla, Light and Medium Cashmere, and Porcelain. If at any point I can’t find a Violet refill, I think I’d be able to get away with Porcelain or one of the Cashmeres. It doesn’t look the kind of product where you’re locked into just one shade. But I do love the Violet and hope it’s available forever!
