I just recently re-purchased this in the transparent version after having not used it for a couple of years. I have so many powders in my makeup collection, and I kind of forgot about this. I forgot how good it actually is. I like this better than other powders I have, no matter the price. It really adds a finished look to my makeup. I only use it lightly to set my makeup, and it really gives me a smooth look. So many powders can give me a cakey or dry look, and for some reason, this doesn’t. And it’s so cheap! Yes, the packaging is bad. I don’t carry it with me, and it would be hard to, since the cover doesn’t screw on. The packaging could be a deal-breaker for some. I only use it in the mornings to set my makeup, so I’m ok with it. This $4 powder can really stand up against powders that I have paid $25 and more for.

Me: very dry & v pale, yellow based ivory neutral skin.
Been using this since my teens to keep lip liner in place. However recently tried it on my face to set Nars ‘radiant, creamy concealer,’ then remembered, I used to use it on my face too until I became beguiled by more sophisticated seeming, expensive powders, Laura Mercier etc etc.
Result:
I’ve just discovered, this is better than those over priced powders. It smooths, conceals pores, sets dewy Nars concealer, & makes my skin matte and velvety looking. It also seems to have a tiny bit of coverage which am unaccustomed to, but which helps even out my complexion. The colour transparent seems to perfectly match my skin rather than whiten or darken. It doesn’t highlight lines or skin texture either, nor is it drying. The texture of this powder is almost creamy & applies so smoothly. It costs £3.49, I would be insane to pay more when this is so good. Am tempted to try Rimmel’s other powders now & see the different effects but I doubt this can be beaten. It lasts for about three to four hours on me before I need to touch it up, but my face has always overheated all makeup of any sort and have needed to retouch often. I’ve never found a powder at over ten times the cost that didn’t need retouching at the same intervals of time.
For those that want glamorous packaging, that would put the price up ten fold, absurd. Makeup is a tool not an accessory.

I’ve read many positive reviews & also seen my favourite YouTuber raving about this powder, so I thought give it a go.
I purchased “Transparent” ones, which isn’t exactly “transparent” -it’s a creamy coloured pressed powder, and it does show a bit when you apply. I have a dry side of combination skin, so just dusting it on nose & forehead is enough for me to keep the shine under control. It really works like a wonder. Pity that the case is so cheap and fragile.

I am a huge, HUGE fan of Rimmel’s Stay Matte Liquid Mousse foundation. It’s my favorite foundation of all time for my pizzaface. So you’d assume I’d love the powder from the line. But the truth is I’ve bought this several times over the years, and it sucks. Despite everyone recommending it to me time and time again… it still sucks. For me anyways.
This does not keep my oil at bay. I’m lucky if I can even get it to set my sunscreen to a matte finish. I’m greasy again within 2 hours regardless. This is super cakey on me. It pools into my pores, creases at my nose folds (lucky me), and my undereye area becomes a horror. To add insult to injury, it causes my face cystic acne eruptions. It doesn’t matter how incredible my skincare routine is going. If I use this, I can kiss any chance at being attractive goodbye.
The pros? Well, obviously a lot of others love it. It does add a velvety finish + some coverage.
It’s pretty cheap. I’d say try it and see for yourself, because your mileage may vary. I don’t usually rec that for products I hate *but* so many other oily gals love it. It’s just not for me.

This is not quite HG status for me but it is definitely one of my drugstore staple pressed powder for many years. This is just your classic no frill powder that really does what it claims to do – it sets your foundation beautifully with a matte finish and does great oil control for up to 5 hours. You probably do need to touch up your face in between but my skin is so oily on the T-zone anyway literally no products make me stay matte all day.
I do wish the packaging (namely the lid) can be a bit more sturdy – but that doesn’t really bother me that much. You get A LOT of products (14g), comparing to the standard 8-10 grams you get from a pressed powder compact from the drugstore. The color says transparent but I can see a very slight yellow tint in it, which is great for me because I need all the yellows in the world when I comes to face products.
In conclusion, if you have oily skin you’re gonna love this. For the price you really can’t beat and it works so well. Highly recommend.

It is a shame that the packaging so cheap and fragile, because the powder inside it is amazing. Keeps me matte without looking powdery when applied with a big, fluffy brush, for about 3-4h before I need to touch it up. I kept the powder in my bag for touch ups throughout the day and the lid broke in no time. I will buy it because I really like the product formula and it is very affordable.

Not good coverage and the perfume smell is just way to strong.

This powder offers good coverage and provides a nice finish. However, I found 001 to be very, very yellow. Completely changed the color of my foundation.

This only works for me when my skin is VERY oily. If you don’t have a very oily skin and even if you only use a little bit, it will look bad, not smooth and will emphasize (and create) dry patches. The packaging is bad and breaks easily.

I have a combination skin and I quickly get oily. So combination skin in a tropical and humid country, I need all the coverage that I can get. This product left a medium coverage for me and after 1-2 hours, my skin already looked oily. I didn’t pay much to get this so for the price, it’s good but overall not so much. It’s not long lasting. I don’t think I will buy this again unfortunately.
