I was a Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder enthusiast for many years until I got sick of how management would hike up its price steeply every year. I had to then shop around for another sheer type of pressed powder and discovered this. I am so hooked and have already restocked my second one! It goes on a little too powdery but that disappears in a minute after application. It gives off sheer colour but evens out my skin nicely and makes me feel polished for work. Best of all, unlike Bobbi Brown – whereby when you hit the pan the sides crumble away into granules – when you hit the pan of this one, the sides faithfully remain in place therefore loads of more days of application before you need to toss. And it comes from a company practising cruelty free approach and it is even vegan. Very good buy for those with normal skin.

I bought this because it was on sale, but golly what a find! It gives me that elusive air-brushed finish, without looking powdery. This is the look I wanted from Mac’s Mineralized Skinfinish powder but didn’t get. Nice as that was, it looked like I was wearing a veil of powder, whereas the Tarte’s gave me natural looking, satiny skin. If you’re over the age of 40 and powders are starting to not sit well on your skin, give this one a go.

This is my go to powder for setting my makeup. It sets everything very well so it lasts throughout the day without giving me a cakey or powdery finish. My skin is dry, but my forehead can sometimes get shiny and this powder eliminates that instantly. It also doesn’t cling to my dry skin at all, it just covers it. I would recommend this powder to anyone and will definitely buy again when mine runs out.

Meh. I have combo, oily tzone skin, MMM w yellow undertones and within a few hrs, I look super oily. The coverage is light and no cakiness at all. Not a wow product, especially for the price. Prefer IT cosmetics cc powder over this

This was my first purchase (and last, at least for a now) from Tarte. I’ve been using a drugstore pressed powder that felt fine, but I wanted to try something high end and had always loved the look of Tarte’s packaging. So, I ordered this product online, and it was the first thing I have ever returned. I bought this powder to make my face LESS shiny, and when I opened it the first thing I noticed were the sparkles. Maybe I just got a bad one, but it was super shimmery! I thought that maybe it wouldn’t be so bad on my skin, but nope, just shimmer, everywhere. Not what I was looking for, so it looks like I’ll be sticking with my drugstore powder for a while.

I have very oily skin (also, I’m living in a humid weather) and I had the loose powder version before and after trying this pressed one for more than 3 months, I can say that this does not help with controlling oil at all. If anything, everything slips and slides much easier because of this powder. Yes, it is very fine and convenient to carry but I hate having to touch up my makeup so frequently. My T-zone got oily and shiny (as in Edward fckin Cullen kind of shiny) in 2 short hours. It also gives a white cast to the face if you use a heavier hand with it. I will not repurchase this.

Don’t get me wrong I love this product. It’s a very light-weight powder and is amazing to bake with. But if you’re going somewhere and going to take a lot of flash photography.. DO NOT USE THIS!!! The powder will show up in the flash and it will look HORRIBLE. For everyday wear when you’re not going to be taking pictures, use this it’s amazing. But don’t use this to take flash photos. It looks horrible.

I have always been trying to get that airbrushed look but I am not a makeup artist or have a lot of time. This product has been an awesome finisher and when used over BB cream and concealer/etc it really evens things out and makes it look smooth. I don’t use the brush that came with it, I just use a regular powder brush. It seemed to last all day and I didn’t experience any drying or breakouts from this product, and I got exactly what I wanted. It is also very good for setting highlighter or concealer for undereyes, etc.

I’ve used other setting powders with no luck – they always caked my skin instantly, especially in my dry patches. I decided to splurge a little, went to Sephora, and was recommended this. I am definitely a fan.
First of all, unlike the drugstore powders I’ve used, this seems much more fine and doesn’t resemble a powder when used. As a result, when I brush it on my face, it doesn’t appear cakey and definitely melts into my foundation and sets it without issue.
Also unlike drugstore powders, it has no added shimmer. The powder is translucent, and, at least on my skin, totally invisible.
Finally, I love the convenient packaging. It’s very easy to throw in a bag and keep with me all day. (I hate the brush it came with, though.)
All in all, I will definitely repurchase when it’s gone. It’s totally worth the money.

I’m picky about my powders because I have sensitive skin. Tarte products never break me out or cause irritation. I got this in translucent so it adds no extra coverage but it sets makeup beautifully and smooth’s out my pores. I really like this.
