This used to be the only face powder I used but now that I’ve moved on to the Chanel I know that I’ll never go back.
This powder is so dry and cakey looking. When applied it makes your skin look dull and flat. But after an hour the oil is back. It doesn’t do a good job at oil control at all. My skin looked very dry and tured when I used this. Even a setting spray or hydrating mist wouldn’t help. I wouldn’t really reccommend trying this if you have oily skin because it would be a waste of money on a product that doesn’t work.

I´m a NC25 / Dark Blonde / Green Eyes / Normal Skin without any impurities. I don´t habitually use Foundation / Powder… only on special occasions. A few months ago I started using Bobbi Brown´s Foundation and noticed that this caused my forehead to become a bit shiny, so I went back to the store where I was matched with the Sheer Finish Pressed Powder Pale Yellow to help set the foundation. For me this powder has been fantastic, as with only a tiny sweep (I use very, very little product), it solves my “shine-problem”, sets my foundation and gives me a very natural look that stays on all day. If I wouldn´t tell you, you´d never guess I´d be wearing powder.
Overall… I consider myself a very satisfied customer.. though I can understand the critics with a problematic skin who may find this powder lacking coverage. I guess I´m just one of the lucky few already blessed with a great skin, for whom… the lighter the better applies 🙂

I like this Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder as it gives a nice finishing touch to my face! It does last long to me, but I do get a bit of cakey face with it… maybe it is just my personal preferences, not wanting to have the perfect porcelain doll face 🙂
– I have found this article which explains how to properly apply the powder without getting the cakey face – worth checking out! 🙂

I’ve got through several of these over the years and I carry it around for daytime touchups. It’s very sheer, its purpose being solely to set makeup and take down shine, and it does that job extremely well. This isn’t a product that’s going to give you coverage, glow or any other special effects.
My BB foundation and concealer shade is 4.5 Warm Natural. Years ago I bought the Loose Powder in this shade and found it way too dark, so I switched to Soft Sand (a lighter shade) for loose and pressed and it looks fine. I switched to Clinique for loose powder but continue to use the BB Pressed because it’s so sheer and foolproof that I can spend a few seconds touching up my face at my desk, with one eye on my PC, and not have to worry that I look “powdered” or patchy.
Maybe they’ve changed the formula, but I recently saw the Warm Natural compact version in-store and it didn’t look too different to Soft Sand, so I might try that again.
Because BB powders are so sheer you can probably go up or down a shade in the Pressed Powder range (more shades than in Loose) particularly if you have a problem with your makeup oxidising during the day.
I use this about once a day during the working week, using just enough product on the puff to take down shine, and the compact will last me around 12 months or more.

A beautiful natural sheer powder that gives the skin a matte finish and lasts several hours! I wear Warm Natural (my foundation shade is Natural). I like the big mirror, too.

I’ve been using this product for years and I love it. However, I’m getting bored of it and have realised while it’s a great product, it’s not brilliant!
I have very oily skin, this powder does control the shine to some extent but I have to powder again during the day.
It is a bit expensive but does last for a while (6 months min).
The only reason I like bobbi brown products is because their colour match for Asian skin tones are perfect. I really struggle to find a very yellow undertone powder but this powder has it.
Overall, it’s a good powder, quite full coverage and will conceal most/all blemishes (depending on how bad your skin is) and will last for a while. Downsides: if applied too heavily – can be slightly cakey, very expensive and will need to re-powder during the day.

This powder seems to really impress the users on here with dry skin. Yet I have oily skin, and this does nothing to stop shine. My face looks shiny as hell when I use this powder (I have pale yellow) to set foundation. It also tends to make the under-eye area look messy when used to set concealer.
Plus, for those wondering, if you have oily skin, I avoid reaching for this for a mid-day touch-up. It has made every foundation I’ve tried it with glob up and will take foundation off some parts, and cake up in others.
I just want a powder that works, that doesn’t flash back. Is it so hard to do? 🙁

Worst pressed powder ever……….my face is shiny within half an hour more so then without it………!!

I have this powder in three shades, Warm Natural, my winter color, Golden Orange My winter and Summer shade and Soft Honey my deepest shade. Like a lot of women of color there is some natural color variation between my forehead and jaw and also a lot of Prestige line Foundation shades may be lacking in warmth yellowness etc. I reach for Golden Orange the most it has great natural coverage photographs well and works for Foundation shades that may lack the right depth, warmth etc. For Reference I use Bobbi Brown golden natural in the stick, MUFE shade 140 and Becca long Lasting foundation in Olive, IMAN in Sand, Touche Eclate in Shade B60. I don’t recommend using the puff a light brushing all over my face works best, it holds up even in Arizona and Colorado humidity! I have gone hiking with it as well lol. if you have oily skin use this and touch up your oily spots with Ben Nye White powder. That is what I do for days that i am a bit more “glowing” then other days.

This product is extremely good for hot weather. I apply only once a day and it controls oil very well. I have used it for so long that I have forgotten how many that I have finished. It gives a very smooth healthy looking skin that I dont have to apply any foundation.
