So I bought the pressed powder foundation in real sand. A product I have never used.
It is all my fault I admit.
I got the mineral foundation in real sand after being matched in a space nk store.
A few months later I decided I wanted a pressed powder and I bought it and am yet to use it.

Where has this been all my life? Finding this powder was like trying to light a fire with 2 stones and suddenly someone handed me a lighter. Brilliant!! My foundation has never lasted as long, nor has it ever looked as good– and coming from a dry skinned gal, it’s worth double points because it doesn’t cake, look ashy or settle in fine lines. I don’t know how it works but it’s like it melts into the skin and becomes one with it without changing the color of the foundation or making you look flat like you have a mask on. My only gripe is the flimsy square spongy thing that it comes with which is fairly useless, but a completely minor detail in the grand scope of this gem of a product!

I didn’t know how much I needed this! I always get the midday forehead shine but this has eliminated that. I went against the Sephora workers suggestion and chose this one over the loose powder version and I’m happy with my choice. It gives my make up a nice finishing touch and makes it last throughout the day.

My foundation held through an hour long exercise session and 8hr work day. I am light neutral and while this is lighter than my skin it does not leave a caste or flash back. Pretty darn good and so finely milled. Powders last me a long time so the price is less of an issue than function. This is talc based which is inert and should not feed bacteria like a cornstarch or possibly rice based powder.

Absolutely amazing for setting the under eyes for someone who has incredibly oily skin!
A friend of mine recommended this product to me and even though it was really expensive, I was willing to give it a try as I was looking for a new powder. At first I actually wasn’t too keen on it, within the first few months I had already experienced cakey makeup throughout the day. However, as I was running out of my MAC blot powder I decided to give it a try again and I can’t believe i never tried just setting my undereyes with it! I only use the puff for that purpose and throughout the whole day there is absolutely no signs of oiliness or movement of my makeup. I even tried it while playing Volleyball and I kept checking it and absolutely no changes!
Overall, it’s a good setting powder that definitely keeps my oiliness at bay (around 4-5 hrs.) if you brush it over your makeup lightly. I said no to re-purchasing but I miiiight… the price is just really hard to negotiate.

This has changed my life! I’m new to setting powder, and got this after reading reviews on MUA (was considering this and MAC). It’s a revolution to me! I have really oily skin, so was just looking for something to set the look of my liquid foundation and hopefully keep the oil at bay longer than usual. I dust a very small amount on with the LM fan brush (which is fab – much easier to use with this than any sponges or puffs), just on my T-zone. It really is completely translucent and doesn’t add any colour to my foundation or blusher. It does look very slightly powdery at first, but with my oily skin that soon settles down and it really makes my face look more flawless and photo-finished. I blot and dust a teeny bit more powder on once a day at work and hey presto – back to looking matte again. The only downside is the high cost, but overall I would recommend it and couldn’t be without it now, and it should last for ages. Much quicker for touch-ups than anything else too: just a quick blot with oil blotting paper/sheet and then quick sweep over of a little more powder. Happy girl!

Just what I needed … I ran out of my other powder. This is silky soft & sets completely invisible over my LM foundation (oil free supreme). I have to say though, this is WAY too expensive … I will (sadly) go back to MUFE HD powder after I use all of this up… But Laura Mercier products are worth it if you’re looking to splurge..

I was watching a makeup tutorial for a ‘frosted winter look’ which was basically matte skin with a dark red lip, quite liked it and thought I’d give it a go, this lead to me realising I don’t actually own an all over face setting powder!
I think the reason is they seem a bit old fashioned, conjuring images of massive fluffy powder puffs and talc based white powder (being from the North I tend to shy away from anything that would make me look whiter!) plus I never really feel like I needed one in my routine apart from the secret brightening powder I use under my eyes.
But everyone loves an excuse to buy a shiny-or in this case matte- new product, so after a bit of research I went for the Laura Mercier translucent pressed setting powder, because
A) no talc = no white cast
B) translucent = doesn’t interfere with foundation tone or make you look ashy
C) nice packaging with decent sized mirror, little velvet puff and decent price (£24)
Goes on nice with the puff or a face brush, lovely texture, mattefying but moisturising so no dryness, bronzer goes on smoother, gives a more ‘finished’ look. Would buy again!
*TIP the pressed version is better if you’re carrying it around with you, this also comes in a loose version but unless you want the inside of your bag to end up covered then leave that one at home, also you can get refill puffs separately if the original one ends up a bit orange :/ lol

Really ballsy for Laura Mercier to call this a translucent powder when it’s anything but! This powder totally shows up chalky yellow white on my NC25 skin, which makes my skin look dry and ashy. I have to pat the powder puff on the back of my hand so many times to get rid of excess, yet it’ll still show up on my face. That is way too much work for a pressed powder, so I’m going to try and use this in the mornings with a brush to set my makeup and not for purse/travel. Otherwise, packaging is secure/solid, and the sponge/puff that comes with the compact fits nice and neatly on top of the powder. Also there is a mirror. This may be a good option for extremely pale skinned girls, but definitely avoid if you’re not. NARS Reflecting Light Pressed Powder is a way better option if you’re looking for translucent pressed powders (it’s stark white in the pan but doesn’t show up on your skin).

I’m a bit of a powder novice. I hardly ever use or buy powder because my skin is normal-dry sometimes.
However, I thought a tiny dusting of powder might help my foundation to stay in place if I wasn’t able to touch it up over the day.
I bought this online after looking also at Clinique and Bobbi Brown.
I have to be honest and say I have hardly used it because although it’s a setting powder and translucent, it does give a powdery finish and a slightly white appearance. I brush a tiny bit on my T zone with a powder brush ( not the sponge in the compact) and it does set my make up.
I don’t know if I’d buy it again to be honest. Not because of the product’s performance but because I don’t use powder very much at all- it does take the ‘glow’ off my make up which I feel is a bit ageing for me- I like a semi-matte look, not matte.
The only times I would use it might be in high summer when it’s hot and most make up slips off your face then. I am sure it’s a good powder but don’t have much to compare with.
