This powder is not what I had hoped for. It looks extremely orange and cakey. Unfortunately, I also think it broke me out. The hunt for the perfect pressed powder continues.

This product… Well, I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, it was great for my skin- I used it onstage, and so makeup was caked onto my face every night for quite some time, but I never broke out, even when I accidentally slept with it on. Also, it has really good coverage! But, that coverage also comes with the huge problem of looking cakey as all heck. Like, reaallyyy cakey. There’s also just not that much product there (unfortunately, the life of mine was cut short because I dropped it and it shattered! D:) I used it in shows with no problem, and I did use it in daily life, but only on its own, never with foundation, which was pretty much when I didn’t have the time to put foundation on! Overall, though, it’s a decent product.

This if a solid choice if you’re looking for an affordable, reliable pressed powder. I have extremely fair skin that has a tendency to be very red if I’m stressed/don’t get enough sleep/etc. This definitely evens out my redness. When applied with the poof located in the compact, it seems to look pretty heavy. I like using a foundation brush instead. When used with the brush, it doesn’t settle into my lines, even if I reapply for oil control later in the day.
I wish it covered my blemishes a bit more, but I honestly haven’t found a better powder for my skin and will keep using.

This is not luxurious even for drugstore, but it’s reliable. It’s virtues are coverage (not alone), but when redness is really showing or the shade is off, this will help. It will also dampen shine. I am not oily, but I get spf shine or glaze issues. The downside is that it can look caked if you are not careful. A huge upside is it has spf and is an easy way to refresh your spf. It’s not an ideal setting poweder, if you want something light or sheer. Good if you have things to hide, shades to adjust. I got it when I got the liquid foundation. I don’t wear them both together, but I am happy to have both in my drawers.

I like it! I bought it in “Fair” strictly for the purpose of touching up my oil slick, I mean my T-Zone, around lunch time, and I’ve been happy so far. It covers pretty decently, more than I expected, enough that I could probably use it as a sheer-coverage foundation on days when my skin’s looking really good (as it is, I’m using it over Estee Lauder’s Equalizer). I’ve been using it every day for a week now with good results and no breakouts – and my skin is really picky!
It comes with a little cottony pad for application, which isn’t bad for my purposes, though if I did ever want to use it all over I’d probably want to use a brush. The packaging is nice – just flip up the powder palette and the applicator is there under it, along with a mirror.
It’s a little on the expensive side for drugstore brands, as Neutrogena generally is, but if you get it on sale, the price can be nice.
Overall a good, solid product. I’ll update if I ever use it as a foundation.

I’ve been using this powder for a few months now and I’d say for my needs it’s pretty good.
Awhile ago I kind of gave up on “perfect skin” because I was driving myself crazy over every imperfection on my face. My skin has come along way since my more pubescent days but I still get a few breakouts around that time of the month, and still have some bits of discoloration from scarring, as well as a little bit of redness that comes and goes. I have combination skin (oily tzone).
I use this foundation to “even out” my complexion. If I only use this you can still see some of my spots and redness but my skin looks much better overall with this on. It has a soft matte finish (not cakey), and is very nicely milled IMO, pretty buttery feeling. If you are not a stickler for coverage and want something light I think wearing just this has decent staying power and hasn’t broken me out. The SPF is a great plus. This is what I’ve been doing for the summer.
I’ve also worn this over bb creams and foundations and it works well like that too. Again, it gives a soft matte finish without being cakey at all. I apply this with a stippling motion with a kabuki brush. Would buy this again but the only reason I might not is because I’m holding out for something that will match my skin tone a wee bit better.. this is passable but I have yellow undertone skin and none of these shades seem very yellow… more “tan” vs. not tan.

Although I think it’s good that the mirror won’t get powder all over it because it’s on the other side.. it’s kind of hard to apply on the go if you have to keep flipping it up and down and there’s no “lock” for it. So if you have it open it will flop around.

I switched to this powder about 1-2 months ago, and I really like it! I have combination skin and it seems to keep my face pretty oil free for about 6-7 hours before I have to blot my face and retouch the powder. I use this with the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation and I apply the powder with my ELF Powder Brush. The coverage is pretty good in this powder, but I do feel like it can get cakey if you accidentally put too much in one area. It is a little pricey, it was about $13 when I got it and it also has a very limited color selection. The packaging feels pretty sturdy, but the one thing that I don’t like about it, that some other people have said as well, is the fact that you have to lift up the powder to get to the mirror, which can get really annoying having to constantly be flipping the section up and down to apply it with the mirror. It’s honestly a minor inconvenience, because the powder is a really good powder for most skin types. I can see this setting into dry patches for anyone who has skin that’s on the drier side, so I’d watch out for that.

-Good at controlling oil for my combination skin. May not work as long for oilier skin
-Lasts for 6-7 hours before having to retouch
-Contains SPF
-Sturdy packaging
-Good coverage
Cons:
-Inconvenient mirror area

I like this. It has spf,doesn’t look chalky or cakey ,good oil control and the light/medium is perfect for NW15/20.It’s reasonably priced.Powders with spf are hard to find but if like me they’re your preference(great for topping up sunscreen during the day ) try this.It’s good stuff.Fragrance free too!

My product looks different than the picture but it just comes in a gray compact. When you open it up the powder is there but you have to lift up another little thing to get to the applicator. The applicator is good for maybe 2 weeks, then it starts to fall apart so you’d have to get a new one or start applying with a brush. I have not had problems breaking out when I use this product. One thing I don’t like is that if you use the mirror it comes with you have to lift up the part that has the applicator so you have to switch back and forth to get the product then to get to the mirror. It does provide a good coverage (I do only use powder for my face) when you use an applicator like the one it comes with. With a brush (I use a kabuki brush) it has very light coverage. It is hard to use this though when you have flaky skin like I do at the moment because it seems to make it worse. All in all I would get this again and it has spf 20 ! I get it in the shade light to medium 30.

I’ve used the Neutrogena healthy skin pressed powder SPF 20 for over 10 years. I started buying it because it seemed to be the only powder with semi-decent SPF back in the day. I am extremely break-out prone and liquid sunscreen back then (and even now) completely made me GREASY and broke me out, so I used to use the Prescriptives cream foundation for oily skin with SPF and used this pressed powder with SPF. It was fine, so I just kept buying it and sometimes it was hard to find! Right now, I am an NC25 and I am using this in Light to Medium 30. Everything tends to oxidize on my oily skin so if I want my face to match my neck, I have to buy something that looks a lot lighter initially and then in about 20 minutes, it looks completely normal. So in the past, I have used Fair, Light, etc. — all the super light shades, but honestly, it didn’t matter. My NC20-25 skin is light enough that powder shades that might be a little too light don’t look that bad and, chances are, they will oxidize to match my skin at some point in the day. This past summer I have been using Mac’s Studio Fix Powder Fndn (NC25) and because it starts to melt in about an hour or 2, I put the Neutrogena Pressed Powder over it, which helps with oil control for maybe an extra hour. I also have the Mac Blotting Powder but it doesn’t have SPF, so I’ll use it in my purse for night. Now that it is almost October, I am going back to my liquid fndn Smashbox Studio Skin 15hr Wear SPF 10 (shade 1.1 and I LOVE it) and I think the Neutrogena powder feels heavy, compared to the Physician’s Formula Airbrushing Pressed Powder 16hr SPF30 (which I bought on sale last week and have been trying for about a week with a return-try to Neutrogena a few days ago). I think I like the Phys Formula Pressed Powder better & it has a higher SPF, so I think I’ll be sticking to this from now on and also finish off the Neutrogena. If Phys Formula powder wasn’t available, I’d buy Neutrogena powder again. I have been trying the Phys Formula Pressed Powder in Beige 7588 which is perfect when it goes on but gets “tan-looking” later in the day. Oh well, I’ll either work with it or exchange it for lighter shade.
Update: I have decided I hate both of the Physician’s Formula pressed powders and will NEVER buy them again; I’ll just wear BB cream under fndn for the SPF. This neutrogena healthy skin pressed powder is still an okay powder but I think I strongly prefer Revlon Nearly Naked and Wet&Wild Coverall pressed powders over this one, even if the Neutrogena has SPF and the other two do not. I think it starts to feel heavy and might get cakey over the day, while the other two do not; I also think it is just not very mattifying at all. I’m leaving the overall rating at 4 lippies, but I’m changing my “buy it again” rating to No.

I have VERY oily skin that is extremely acne-prone. I began using this powder and it did a decent job of controlling oil. Nothing magical, but it was better than the typical oil slick on my face. It looked natural on me, and it was nice for the summer. However, after using it for about a week I broke out with cystic acne and I have been on a controlled skin regimen, with no breakouts, for over a year! This is the only product that changed in my routine. DO NOT buy this if you are acne prone. I regret buying it big time.

Ohhh, I didn’t like this powder at all. I really, really liked it at first but then by the 3 or 4th day.. I was broke out by it sooo bad. The bad break out where the pimples are under the skin and not on top. Using this made me scared to try the liquid makeup version but they’re nothing alike!
It took me 2 weeks to get rid of the type of acne that it gave me. Terrible powder and a nightmare. Yikes.

This is honestly one of the worst powders I have ever used. I have bought this on two separate occasions as an alternative to Neutrogena’s skin clearing pressed powder thinking it would mask the dry patches on my skin better. WRONG. It made my skin look cakey and settled into my pores, making them look huge with the extra bonus of clogging them. While it looked dry, it also seemed to make my skin oilier, a really disgusting-looking combination. It works much better with a tinted moisturizer than a foundation, but I absolutely hated it either way. Will never purchase again.

This compact has replaced TWO different products for me. First, it replaces my MAC Sheer Select as far as a pressed powder that has a touch of color. Second, it replaces my very hard to travel with, but brilliant idea Jane Iredale Powder Me Up (Powder SPF). I thought even as winter is here I would pull this out of my purse, but nope. If I feel the sun beating down on me in my car, I grab this out of my purse, dust it over my face and instant coverage. I always have to have it with me in the warmer months…just to help keep SPF coverage up when you have make up already on.
This does not take the place of my setting powder (MAC Prep & Prime Translucent Pressed Powder) but when I am out and about…I always have this and a mini kabuki brush with me to dust it on. If it matters, I am MAC NW20 with dry, sensitive skin (no breakouts or irritations from this either BTW).

I rarely write reviews, so if I’ve written one, it means I feel strongly about a product. This powder is amazing! I have terrible skin from acne scarring as a teen and this, combined with my Mary Kay Timewise Foundation, makes my skin look almost flawless. As a test, just blotted my oily areas with a blotting paper and there was hardly any oil on the paper. The finish is beautiful and the coverage is great. I use the darkest shade; since I’ve gotten older I’ve become more dark-complected, and even the darkest shade is still light enough not to make me look like a tanned freak! As far as I’m concerned, I will never buy any other powder to set my makeup!

I tried the SPF 20 version. This is a decent powder; there is nothing particularly great about it. I don’t typically use it to set anything so it goes straight onto my bare skin, just so you know.

With how I use this (2-3 light layers of dusting with powder brush), the coverage is basic; pretty minimal I guess. If you have any blemishes, freckles, or other discolorations this is not going to cover them on it’s own.

I have skin on the drier side, but in the summer I sometimes can get a little shiny in the t-zone… This powder holds up decently in the heat. It’s not the best at keeping away the shinieness, though. I would need to keep this on hand for maybe a touch-up or two during the day. This might be routine for some people and not bother them, but for me.. I like to put on my makeup once in the day and go without ever really having a strong need to touch up! (this is me being finicky, though :P)

I’m a very pale person, cool undertones and even the lightest shade does not work on my skin. It makes me look orange, which is too bad because the powder itself is pretty good. But Neutrogena needs to come out with a wider array of shades. Until then, will not repurchase.

It’s a nice, basic setting powder. It doesn’t oxidize, provides decent coverage for a powder, and doesn’t cake. The packaging–the mirror and compartment for the puff are below the product itself–is a bit awkward. I’ll buy again.
