My skin tone is about NC20 right now. I have an olive skin tone, and a lot of foundations are not yellow enough for me. I already have one Banana powder (commonly use term for pure yellow powder) from Ben Nye, but I have 2 main issues with it: that it’s not quite fine enough for me, and that it oxidizes slightly and takes on an orangy color instead of being yellow.
I decided to try this finishing powder to warm up my foundation color slightly, as it was a little pale and a little too neutral. This powder set the foundation well while looking natural, and lasted well throughout the day. It has a nice texture which makes me abl to control easily how much I apply, doesn’t transfer much, doesn’t oxidize, as far as I can see. I don’t even know what more to say: it’s a good setting powder, and I’ve purchased two backups (that I hope I will actually use, with all of the other products I have). I myself got this on a “buy 4 pay for 2” Ulta sale, and would recommend looking out for similar sales when buying this brand.

I’ve been using the hourglass diffused light for a few years under my eyes. Now, I’ve almost run out of it, so I figured I should try something new (thanks to hourglasses high price tag, I’m looking at you $56 CAD for a undereye powder). I’ve used it several times, and it’s safe to say I’m in love. Works exactly the same for $12 CAD. Craziness.

I am a fairly light person, not the lightest, but in no way medium and this powder looks WHITE on me. Unfortunately, I was hoping to find a cheap compact I could keep on me when traveling or for touchups, but this is definitely not it. It is extremely powdery, has the slightest yellow but is primarily white.
For reference, I am between NC 15 and NC 20 in MAC studio fix. My current perfect match is Bobbi Brown’s Skin foundation #3 beige (now in summer) and in winter #2, and this is probably too powdery and white for my winter color as well.

It looks fine immediately upon application, but then somehow after only an hour or so, it makes the concealer under my eyes crease and look dry like hell, and looks like a white powder just sitting on top of my makeup. I’m disappointed. I will not be repurchasing.

This review is for the NYX HD Finishing Powder pressed compact in Banana.
I use this powder to set my undereye concealer and to bake on my forehead, chin, the bridge of my nose and along my jaw. It does a great job with both–although I find that if I bake under my eyes with it for too long my undereye area starts to look crepe-y. I apply it with a dampened sponge–either the orange Real Techniques blender sponge or some other BB knockoff, let it sit for 2-5 minutes, and then take off the excess with a large fan brush or a fluffy powder brush.
As a finishing powder it does a fantastic job as well. It’s very powdery–there’s a lot of kickup when I use a brush. It does a good job of blurring out my pores and other minor texture after I’ve finished applying the rest of my face makeup. The compact does not have come with a mirror or an applicator, which is why I’ve only given it a four rating. I’ve hit pan on my first compact and already purchased its replacement.

I don’t like this setting powder at all! It’s very drying and clings on to any dry patches once applied. Better recommendations would be the Ben Nye banana powder or the LA Girl banana pro powder.

Ew. This powder is too white, unless you don’t mind a white cast that sits on top of your face and settles in your fine lines and accentuates your dry patches, DON’T purchase this. That is exactly what it is. Ughhhhh…not smooth. I even sprayed it down with a make up extender finishing spray, no difference. Grosssss

Two words, made in China and talc. I do not need to say more. I know that a lot of things that are made in China but this is redic. It is the worst product ever. This product sits on top of my skin, and you can see it. Even after spraying down my face with setting spray. It’s like when people use white HD powder to highlight and the powder just stays there, that is how this is. It is like a mask under your eyes that stands out. It breaks apart on the skin as the day goes on, so you can see it spotting. What was NYX thinking. Every single time that I used this I can not help but to think how horrible this powder is. I threw it in the trash. Not ever repurchasing NYX.
