I picked up this on my hunt for a luminous but natural finishing powder. First, the packaging is obviously beautiful but I’m not a huge fan of the scent. I know, I know… Everyone else loves it, but to me it kinda reminds me of a public bathroom toilet bowl cake. Finally, I applied it over my make up and it seemed to look like any other finishing powder… Then I stepped outside. Sparkles! Sparkles everywhere! And not the good, “luminous” kinda sparkles, but the glitter-bomb-explosion on my face! In all honesty, maybe I just got the wrong shade but I don’t see myself spending another $62 to find out. I can (maybe) see this more for fairer skin on a special occasion (a special dark occasion where people don’t get too close to you) but I did a little sampling around in the finishing powder department and found a fantastic result with Hourglass Ambient Lighting (Etherial Light). Beautiful, bright finish sans potty perfume. Not to mention it’s about $20 cheaper. If you’re looking for a cheaper dupe for Guerlain’s sparkle balls, NYX Radiant Finishing Powder also works quite well and has the “radiant” part (aka shiny stuff) sectioned separate so you can kinda control how much “radiance” you like. Overall, I definitely wouldn’t recommend this for the price. Keep sampling around in-store if possible but, as with any product, everything works different for everyone.

I’m almost wishing the packaging had stayed the same; the metal casing is hard to pry open- especially with my arthritic fingers. This is my first purchase of the “balls” as they are affectionately referred to. I have the Mythic 01 in pressed version ( when I can afford refills) and have purchased the pressed powder ( non refillable). This comes with a small puff inside, but I generally use a fluffy powder brush to apply: swirl it around, tap off the excess and buff into my skin.
The violet smell is gorgeous, not over powering at all. I love that about the Guerlain powders. The meteorites, however, I’m not certain I’m sold on. I do love the luminescent glow it imparts to the skin, the fragrance, the package ( if not the design). I think I prefer the refillable option, though I might repurchase if I ever ran out. It just may be a learning curve with application and using it to set. I’m just not certain I’m picking up enough product on my brush to apply anything, but as I stated it may be a practice makes perfect type of thing.

This review is for the historic Mythic Meteorites pearls in the cardboard box:
I’ve had mine for years. I don’t use them everyday but boy when I do, the result is remarkable. I can’t see the powder on my face which is deceptive because it makes me think it isn’t doing anything. But I am wrong. It visibly softens my features and brightens my entire face making my face look lit from within. Mine is beginning to collect a lot of pale lavender/grey powder on the bottom of the box. I think this is why they result is better than when they were newer. My brush picks up better. I love the delicate violet fragrance and wished it didn’t fade so quickly after applying it. I don’t know if the current incarnation of Meteorites Perles in Teint Rose 01 are identical to Mythic. I hope they are because I will definitely repurchase when my Mythic are done.

I was so disappointed – because of the price I’d been putting off buying this for a long time, so when I finally did I really expected it to knock my socks off (spoiler alert: it didn’t).
The powder, on me, was light and delicate, never got cakey or looked heavy. I like it well enough, but I didn’t *love* it, especially at that price – there are a lot of nicer face powders out there that do just as good a job of setting makeup with subtle brightening for a much lower cost.
What really irked me was the packaging. I got a metal canister with a thin decorative lid that has to be pried off in a way that could be damaging to your nails. Why would a beauty company like Guerlain make packaging like that? If you buy this, I recommend decanting the pearls into a different container (but save the original – it’s very decorative).

This review is for the pressed powder version of this powder. First of all the compact is beautiful albeit very heavy. I really wanted to like this powder but it did nothing for me. It didn’t control oiliness on my T-zone, nor did compliment the finish of my foundation. For me it made my face have a glow but looked greasy instead of healthy. The other thing I didn’t like was the smell. Others like it, but I prefer fragrance free cosmetics and this one really bothered my eyes. I won’t be purchasing again. Very disappointed.

I liked the way this powder looked. It gave a soft brightening effect to my skin, and I think it would make a great finishing powder. Also, I adore the packaging– I’ve been wanting to buy this product for years.
Unfortunately, I had to return it because it made my face sting. I’m not sure what the ingredients are, but I’ve read that it may contain bismuth oxychloride. That is an ingredient often used in “illuminating” powders and mineral makeup. Unfortunately, many people including myself are sensitive to that ingredient and cannot use products containing it.
I gave it 3 lippies because I do think it is a good quality product as long as you’re not allergic to it.

this is a great powder. its not enough if you have oily skin though (you can wear it on its own but you will get shiny). but sweep some over your makeup when its done and you will get tons of compliments. and it lasts forever.

I was reluctant to buy this product because it seemed so expensive. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It is probably the best finishing powder I ever used. It has a lovely scent and gives you a soft radiance. The only negative is that if you pull your brush out of the package too soon, some of the little balls come out with the brush, but otherwise a great product.

Best finishing powder! I bought this in travel size from DFS Bangkok and I love it! It was packaged with the meteorites blush. Lovely packaging and scent aside, the effect of this product is subtle but not subtle at the same time. It is meant to be applied over the entire face as a finishing powder. I apply it all over my face, focusing a little more on the T-zone and cheek bones. It does not make my face look oily even after an entire day outside. It adds a soft glow and it shows up well in photos. Expensive but definitely HG item! Love love love!

Boy, these things are just the best. I will never, ever find a replacement for Mythic, but the rest of the Meteorites line is *almost* as fabulous. I’ve never used much powder, but Guerlain has absolutely outdone themselves! Glowing, lovely, smooth skin!
