For those who like the look of this foundation but don’t want to put mineral oil and parabenes on their face – and spend much less, I would highly suggest to try Clarins Skin Illusion Mineral & Plant Extracts Loose Powder Foundation. It looks as good, maybe with a bit more coverage, it is radiant, it costs much less, is has more in the pot (13g vs 10g) has a better package (the new one) with a retractable brush magnetically attached to the top, and has far better ingredients.
I can’t understand how Chanel still put mineral oil and parabenes (!!!) in their products and charge such exorbitant prices.

This is an absolute holy grail product. I used the matt lumiere and double perfection for years and they were my go-to foundations. However now that I’m older and my skin is drier I find that they wash me out. With Vitalumiere loose powder, I get a glowy, natural coverage that just looks amazing. Love love love this. Also Chanel products never break out my hyper sensitive skin.

As long as it is applied with a bigger brush this is absolute perfection in powder form. Applied over the Sublimage SPF 50 primer it gives the ultimate touch to skincare routine. Nobody does it better than Chanel!

I keep coming back to this time and time again, it just has the most perfect my skin but better effect. It does not provide fantastic coverage but with concealer underneath I just really like the way my skin just looks better as the day goes on. I have almost all of the Chanel foundations and I have a love, hate relationship with the perfume contained within them, I don’t mind the scent as such just don’t feel it’s necessary to add it in such high concentration to the foundations and skin care. This one however, is scented but not overly so and I can’t detect it once it is applied. I really like the brush it comes with but it’s too dense for my liking with the powder so I use the bare minerals brush instead. I would have liked to have seen a flip lid contained within the packaging to stop the powder from coating the inside of the pot especially when travelling but you can’t have everything!! I have 2 shades 10 and 20 and flip between the 2 depending on the season or I mix them. It’s certainly not cheap but honestly I can’t see it disappointing many people!

** I love Chanel, I really, really do! But what old lady died in this loose powder? **
If your skin is dry/flaky and sensitive, this is a no-go, because the perfume can really disturb your skin.
Other than that, it is beautiful. I use it for my natural glowing look, where I just put it sparingly in the T zone and blend it out. It is stunning and it makes me look very beautiful. When I wear makeup I often reach for this, some concealer, and a lipstick or blush, no need for anything else, seriously, it does that great of a job.
I have never used it for more than 1 day at a time, so I don’t know if it will cause any trouble, with continuous daily use.
I do find, that if I use more product than just a tiny amount, then it can settle a little in fine lines and look a little dry. (it is powder after all) But it’s something you will quickly figure out, and you can use a primer underneath, that will prevent that. I do not use primers for this though.
The brush coming with it is super dense and super soft. It is a good brush, I must say!
The shade range is not that great, unfortunately. I will repurchase this.

This powder is perfection. I’ve used it for years and it is the only base product that works on my combination skin. Works well on both dry and oily areas and gives good but natural and luminous coverage.
This isn’t available in the US for some reason so I buy when in Europe or Canada.
Someone told me it was being discontinued though, please tell me it’s not true!!

I can’t imagine I’ll ever stop using this powder <3 With the soft kabuki brush, the powder applies effortlessly giving me a photoshop-like finish. It's incredibly natural and light, and it keeps my shine in check although I do need to blot by the afternoon. A little powder goes a long way so even though it's pricey, it does last quite a while.

I adore this foundation. The super cool ‘Kabuki’ brush that comes with it is different that love the application. The color range isn’t as extensive as some brands but I find that blending the powder to make it look natural is very easy. The only con is obviously the price, but I love seeing this little powder sitting perfectly in my purse and carrying it around everywhere. It has shear coverage which I can dap with my hands over a blemish for a little more coverage. I will likely stick to it!

Such a superb loose powder foundation and I don’t usually go for these at all. Colour range is ok. I’m normally a B10 in Chanel foundations (fair with mostly yellow undertones) and in summer I would tend to shift to B20. This though runs lighter than your usual, at least one shade lighter, so I went up to B20 and it was a perfect match. A bit faffy to apply with the mini kabuki, but what a top quality cute wee brush! Provides light to medium coverage on its own and skin looks amazingly air brushed. You’ll still need concealer to cover anything major. Doesn’t settle into lines, never cakey, didn’t oxidise, and formulation is so fine and creamy almost. Coverage of a liquid, but finish of a powder is what it claims, and this is correct in my experience. Big thumbs up for the staying power and oil control, as well as the airbrushed finish. I got 8 hours before a hint of shine came through (usually I would have blotted at least twice over the T-zone). At the end of 10 hours I had slight shine just over forehead and nose, but my skin looked immaculate still. I think it looked better. Will seem a bit matte to start with when first applied, but once it melds with your skin, it just starts to work its magic and it just keeps getting better as time goes on. Definitely recommend!!

This powder is life changing. I originally bought this because the beautician mistakenly gave me this instead of their loose setting powder. When I opened it at home I was worried I wasn’t going to like it and it would be a waste of $80! Luckily I loved it. Normally I am combination to oily. I wear Estée Lauder double wear religiously and I would always set it with their double wear powder foundation. I can’t explain the world of difference this is compared to the double wear powder. As someone who is oily and about 5 hours into the day my nose is usually worn right off. I always have issues with foundation not sticking to that area, I’m pretty sure my skin just eats it all up haha. I can wear this powder on top of my double wear for 8-9 hours WITHOUT RETOUCHING. It doesn’t budge, it is extremely finely milled and the powder feels velvety on the skin. It doesn’t settle in any pores, it leaves a natural skin like finish… But it makes your skin look almost air brushed. I work in a cosmetic department and my co workers have commented on how great my skin is looking since I bought this!
Over all this product is amazing, I think it would be great for any skin type but maybe not extremely oily skin or extremely dry. You’d just have to play around with it. The packaging is of course gorgeous and classy. Timeless and definitely looks high quality. I love that they give a kabuki brush in the box! It is extremely soft and makes you not feel so guilty spending that much lol.
Now the real issue I have is the amount of product you get. If someone was to use this as their only foundation… They would be running out very fast. If you compare how many grams of product you get to something like the smashbox halo powder it’s almost crazy. For the price I feel it needs to be fuller. I know a lot of people will complain about the price but if you’re buying a luxury makeup product and especially if it’s Chanel you’re clearly going to be paying top dollar. I will be sad when I need to repurchase because of the price tag BUT I can definitely see myself continuing to use this for a long time.
