I first discovered Tval products when I was in St. John’s. I initially stuck with their beautifully-scented soaps but when I started running low on foundation, thought I’d give theirs a try. I’ve tried mineral makeups from drugstores and specialty shops and this is actually my favourite. It’s very fine so it goes on smoothly, feels weightless but you can build the level of coverage you need. My skin tone has improved drastically with almost no breakouts these days (maybe one zit each month from my insane PMS) but I’m not sure if that can be attributed to the new foundation or the cleanser I use (also by Tval). Shipping isn’t cheap from Newfoundland so that can be an issue but I find my stash lasts long enough so that I can buy enough products at one time (foundation, cleanser, Vitamin C treatment, facial scrub) to qualify for free shipping. Also, the customer service is INCREDIBLE!!! They have always been super fast to respond to any questions or special requests I had. I’m thrilled that I can enjoy a superior product and support a small, Canadian business!!

This is the best mineral make up I have tried! Tval have 2 types of colours for the face: G’s and N’s. G colours have more yellow undertones. N’s have yellow and pink undertones. I wear G2, and this is the most close to my skin tone shade I have ever experienced. I have tried Bare Minerals in their warmer shade as well, but I was still finding a bit of pink in their that I don’t have in my skin.
This have a nice light coverage, but can be layered for heavier coverage- I have freckles across my nose and I can still see them when I use this foundation, but I can still cover imperfections using a foundation brush. Doesn’t make my skin oily or break out. Good price- if you do order online try some of their facial skin care items to get them most out of the expensive mailing fees. They have some great products!

I use several different brands of mineral foundations and powders and this is my newest edition (love minerals!). This foundation is quite matte, but not dry (or drying), feels satiny and sinks in nicely upon application. The jar is adorable, but a bit too small (still deep and packed with powder!) so the cap is not very ideal for brush swirling- but not a huge issue either. N0 shade matches nicely with my pale complexion in winter. There’s a SLIGHT ashy tone to it, but some translucent powder on top seems to even it out completely. Absolutely no trace of orange or pink in this one. I’m quite impressed with all my Tvål products.

This is a small company in St. John’s Newfoundland, and there are two stores in Canada (one in St. John’s, one in Toronto) so shipping is probably the most convenient for most people.
The product itself is superb. It is a lot like Physicians Formula loose powders but tval has a wider range of colours (though not as many as Everyday Minerals, another favourite of mine). Really easy to apply and build up for more coverage, and it has never looked cakey and is really comfortable to wear. I ordered this from the tval website, and though the price is not too bad (15$ CAD) the shipping is a little much. Overall I paid 23$ for it and the container isn’t all that huge at 22.5 mL/0.75 oz/10 g. I might repurchase if I am near the downtown store, but since I have discovered EM I am not going to ship this out again.

Edit – forgot to mention that the jar it comes in is so adorable and I will reuse this… for something.
