   Loooong overdue review for something I have been using on and off the last 8 years. (I am human, and run off to try the next best thing in hopes that my every dream will come true)
   Back to the foundation.
   I have: Dry skin with heavy pores, dents, craters and trace hyperpigmentation from acne. This foundation pulls off the single most important thing someone with my skin needs:
   2 Words.
   TEXTURE CORRECTION!!!
   Of all the foundations I have used, this powder foundation was shockingly the best at leveling/smoothing the grainy texture of my skin while providing med-full coverage (depending on brush type and layers). I know it sounds crazy considering the fact that it’s a powder but I kid you not, this provides the smoothest, filled in, leveled, your-dents-were-buffed away look that makes me feel reassured and calm every time I checked up in different mirrors/lighting. It was unexpected especially since this is natural matte finish that has no light refracting properties to merely provoke the “illusion” of smoothness. Everything it does is ALL in the formula. There is something about the particle size and powder texture that make the molecules stick to eachother and form a web-like connected barrier that FLOATS over the skin as opposed to SETTLING WITHIN and around the holes/texture in my face. HOWEVER, it’s also this floating, almost skin repelling quality that disguises and corrects texture that will also make you absolutely aggravated with how to get the powder to stick to you face. – Remember, I said the particles smoothly stick to EACHOTHER but float over your skin. You need to solve the first issue.
   Soo….. how do you get the powder to stick on?
   Simple:
   EMU OIL.

   Please do yourself a favor when trying this foundation and skip all the frustration I underwent while making the powder actually cling to my skin versus rolling/flying off in uneven patches. Buy Montana Ranch Emu Oil from Vitamin Shoppe (other rancid brands murdered my face with cysts) and apply it to your face before wasting time watching powder fly off that is absolutely REPELLING your skin cells. (float effect remember, the formula repels your skin but connects seamlessly to each other!) The emu oil makes the powder molecules stick to your skin and float right above your facial texture. It provides the most healthy buffed effect that looks like great, naked skin and not dry, nasty, powder,-trying-to-hold-on-to-your-skin-in- patches. EMU OIl, EMU OIL. EMU OIL.
   EMU OIL is the secret. I am acne prone so unfortunately, I cannot say that other moisturizers worked for me (they broke me out) and other brands of emu oil were rancid and wreaked havoc also. Rosehip worked but emu provided maximum smoothness with a bizarre (I swear) “anti-oxidation” effect. I know its counterintuitive, but 100% witnessed. It somehow kept my own oils from changing the foundation color as the day went by. It also kept my skin from absorbing and eating away the makeup (hence the cause of tired, faded face lol) If I were the owner, I would totally put this recommendation on my site. She would have sooo many more repeat customers!

   Now that I’ve sang my heart out about the texture support, I have to say that the owner is a COLOR MASTER. For the first time in my life, I have found an exact match that actually enhances the look of health and vitality in my face instead of dulling/ greying out my tone with colors that are not real to humans.lol If you’ve never had an exact color match, you are gonna want to cry when you look in the mirror and see the difference it could have made all those years. 🙂 . This accentuates the warmth of my skin and does not look the relentless and hideous mid grey, pink grey, olive grey tones that so many foundations don’t even realize they come up with. Sooo, soo, soo few companies understand how to completely obliterate the greyish tones that come from the titanium, I imagine. Somehow, this lady does it. Give her a grammy. She makes like, thirty million shades that I am sure when matched correctly, will make you will feel 1000% more confident. Beautiful just beautiful.
   I know lots of shades can be overwhelming, but it is sooooo necessary. I have a huge appreciation for the fact that she treats shades like colors of people (duh!) THERE ARE SOOO MANY!
   Between texture support and fantastic color match, I give this 4 lippies. If they found way to make the formula stick on its own (speed application) or have a dewy finish (which I prefer) I’d be set for life. Never look again, anywhere! .
   Other things to mention- packaging, please upgrade to lock sifters!!!! This is messy!
   Shipping can be slow but unfortunately, her product has me addicted. I wait reluctantly. lol
   Price is amazing at $30 for a big, fat, tall jar that you’ll have for next Christmas.
   I hope she doesn’t ever close shop because I will honestly buy ten jars (estimating usage rate and lifespan..hmm)
   If you’ve read this long, Thank you. I hope you find what you are looking for…..

   For reference – my top loves have included EL Double Wear, Chanel Vitalumiere/Teint Innocence/Perfection Lumiere, Revlon Colorstay/Colorstay Whipped/Age Defy. (While the finishes are totally different, they all shared the same texture control and color match that Meow does above everyone else.)
   I don’t know who this magic lady is or where she learned her formulation secrets —but know an exasperated girl with ugly texture and specific coloration forever thanks you! You have shaved hours off my makeup time and shopping life. lol

   Color reference- I am a perfect Naughty Chatreux in her line, (please dont ever discontinue this shade!!!) Chanel Clair, ELDW-1W1 Sand, Revlon Colorstay Natural Beige (although Revlon is still a bit greyish but great finish) .

   after reading all the good reviews about this foundation i had to get it . only to my disappointment. its very dry and chalky so its hard to get to actually go on and stay on to the face . ive tried spraying the brush but the foundation just stays clumpy in the brush and wont come out . also tried having a very moisturized/ wet base but it just blended very patchy and looked awful and heavy . ive never had a mineral foundation so difficult to use .
   i have got many samples of other shades aswell and also some blushes, bronzers and eyeshadows and i noticed the pics on their site the colors/shades look very different to real life -they look at least a shade or 2 lighter in real life which made it hard to actually get a good match in the foundation. all the other brands of mineral foundations i have used are very soft and velvety/almost creamy and blend like a dream.
   the only good thing about this foundation this the color range…

   I ordered samples of the Flawless and Purfect foundations in a range of yellow based colors. I am leaving virtually the same review for both formulas.

   First, I read the shipping information and knew it would take a couple of weeks. After waiting patiently for a shipping notification I went to the site to learn that the owner lost a family member. 21 days after placing my order, it finally shipped. A few points here:

   **I can sympathize first-hand with the loss of a parent. I don’t understand how this sets an entire company back. Unless everyone who works there is related??
   **If you experience a delay, how about giving your customers a heads up? When my order did arrive, there was no apology or thanking me for my patience.
   **Based on reviews and blogs, it seems this has been a pattern with Meow since business began. With no improvement in turn around. I’ve made this compliant before: how can someone processing orders in their pajamas from home get better turnaround than an actual business with facilities and employees? Clearly customer service is not the focus.
   **I could even overlook this if products are fantastic. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive anything I would order again let alone put up with the lack of professional hustle – I don’t work like this and I absolutely don’t condone or endorse anyone else who works this way.

   I read so many reviews describing how “creamy” these foundations are. I was confused that maybe I had forgotten what “creamy” meant so I referred to my dictionary. After verifying what it means to be creamy, I went back and tested again.

   While this line may be better than, say, BE, it didn’t wow. There wasn’t much difference in coverage between the Purfect and Flawless. While I could get a decent finish, I never did reach a level of coverage I would call full. While I didn’t get any radiance from either formula I can’t say they came off dull or chalky either. Again, meh. However, I found I had to use quite a bit of product.

   There was no scent, no irritation. No breakout.

   If you have a super hard skin tone to match and this is #1 on your deal breaker list, Meow cosmetics may benefit you. I have never seen so many shades represented and organized so nicely.

   One take away that made this process a win is I realized that for me a little yellow, a little beige, a little olive really just pull from different tones in my natural color. I found several doable color families. My one recommendation if you must try this line – order the next darker color than you believe you will need. I thought I was pushing the envelope at the Frisky level but should have tried at least one darker.

   Another take away from this experience was a factor that contributes to selecting darker shades than necessary. Most people pass this off as trying to fake a tan. Light shades don’t cover as well as darker shades do. It is a problem I’ve experienced many times. Liquids tend to cover better but powder foundations, bb creams, tinted moisturizers typically do not offer the same level of cover across shade ranges.

   I ordered the lightest shade in my goto MUAC baked powder foundation and it is perfect. It offers amazing coverage. The finish is radiant. It covers with just a few passes. Pores disappear. And it stays put. It also comes in a compact which I prefer to the loose powder. This powder has a very creamy application. No smell. No glitter. No breakouts. So, at least I reaffirmed that I have my HG powder/daily foundation.

   I admit the finishing powder and blushes (one was actually very nice) were ok but nowhere near so great that I will visit this company again. I chunked my entire order in the trash.

   I have seen Meow reviews before and I was put off by the whole cat lady theme and the tacky cheetah/leopard cat print motif. Brrrrrrrrt. So tacky you can hang posters with it.

   Flawless Feline in Fierce Abyssinian is the best match I’ve ever found in a foundation (and I’ve tried A LOT). I’m South Asian-descent, NC40ish, with cool yellow olive beige undertones and I’m very muted. This can be a little too olive/yellow if built up too much, but worn with a big Kabuki brush (E.L.F.), on top of the Sephora Gel concealer for spots that need better coverage, it’s absolutely perfect. Abyssinian is such a gorgeous true yellow-beige shade. The finish is so natural, no sparkle, nothing. It start out matte but lasts into a natural dew by the end of the day. I’m really oily, so I also set this with a rice powder/kaolin clay mix I DIY. After like 12 hours tho the foundation starts to break down (but that’s lasting a p darn long time).

   I don’t think this is total full coverage the way I wear it, but there was a point in time when I did wear this full coverage. I went through the Munchkin size too quickly doing this, but it’s still possible. I recommend using the E.L.F. flat top powder brush, spraying it with Fix+ or water, then stippling the powder on — not blending. You don’t really need to buff this on unlike other powder foundations tbh. When I’d do this, I’d use Fierce Manx as a corrector for PIH (it’s very yellow with some peach, close dupe for Nars Stromboli but less peachy actually). And you can get a pretty natural-finish full coverage beat look. But again, the FF can also be worn pretty sheerly so it’s very flexible. It also plays well with cream/liquid concealers and blushes! And best of all, it doesn’t break out my super acne-prone skin. This does, however, require a good base to work well. I use a Japanese sunscreen milk that’s quite siliconey, but back when I just put this on top of regular moisturizer, it wouldn’t “stick” to my face. Mineral makeup has a learning curve, and this is no exception. Brushes, base products, and application technique are all extremely important for making this work.

   The only thing is, color inconsistency. This has me pissed because I love this so much. First time I tried the Fierce Abyssinian sample, it was great. I order it in the munchkin size, but it’s much more saturated, green, and yellow than I recall. I mix some Korat and Siamese in Naughty to tone it down but it just ends up a bit too warm. Still workable, I finish it off and order a full size of the Abyssinian, and it’s the exact color of the sample from the first go! I was excited but also mad, like, why…..does it have to be inconsistent. That’s my main gripe with this. The full size will last me a while, but the whole thing got me feeling some type of way. And I’m not the only one who’s had this experience.

   All in all, HG to the moon, despite this.

   Meow makes the best mineral foundations ever!
   I tested tones of mineral foundations and I find this one just perfect for my skin.
   Of course, you have to bear in mind the specifics of powder minerals. Might be little drying, you need good brush and some practice to apply it correctly. It you can live with that, give it a try.
   This foundation is superior, because of its texture and final effect you get.
   The complexion looks like it has been photoshoped – pores are not visible, as well as any discolouration. Seconds after application it might look very powdery, but after a while, it settles into dewy finish.
   My skin is very oily and my makeup looks very good after long day in the office. It won’t settle in pores, fine lines, etc. Does not cling to dry patches.

   I have never experienced any bad reaction on my skin.
   There are some questionable ingredients, i.e titanium dioxide, but as far as I’m aware, Meow does not use nano particles in their formulations. And the np of titanium dioxide poses the risk.

   My only compliant is that the colour range is killing me each time I need to decide. And their colour advice is not very useful, like for skin with pink undertones choose pinkish foundation. To look even more pinkish? I don’t think so…

   Difficult to find perfect shade (luckily samples are inexpensive & generous)
   Have to mix with Meow’s Pampered Puss foundation for the most natural finish on the skin. By itself this foundation is too matte for my taste and can easily get too cakey

   I don’t know why it is, but I had the *hardest* time trying to find information for a shade that would match me. I searched high and low on the interwebs and read pretty much every review here, there and everywhere before making my decision and it just seemed that since others didn’t easily find a match either, they just refused to say anything about their Meow shade vs their MAC shade so that everyone would have to go through the same nightmare. Ok, I’m being dramatic. There might not even be a hint of truth to that… But it was super hard to get info, even on the Meow messageboards (back in the day they were active). Currently the messageboard is inactive but word is you can still get some info on their Facebook page. I haven’t tried but have at ‘er.

   My first attempt was way too dark. I got 5 – Slinky Abyssinian. Doh!! I was stubborn and didn’t want to spend the $ on samples, cuz, well.. I’m stubborn. Either way I was probably out the same amount of $. I assumed that the online swatches were probably skewed and that since minerals often look darker than they apply, went darker than I should have. Lesson learned. Now I have a HUGE jar of… eyeshadow. Or contour. I’m stubborn so I’ll find a use for it at some point. My next order was more successful. I went up (ilghter) a few shades and got 3 – Naughty Abyssinian and although it looks weirdly darker and more olivey than my usual mineral foundation (a mix of shades from theconservatorie.com which is sadly fell off the grid), it’s amazingly similar when applied to my skin. It’s a hair less peachy/pink but otherwise very close. Matches me purrrdy good. I can sometimes have a bit of redness so the yellow/olive tone seems to cancel that out. Even though I got the Flawless Feline, I don’t find this to feel like a heavy coverage. It’s nicely buildable and not cakey at all. I’m normal/combo and have a preference for matte, so I like that this keeps me pretty much shine free for most of the day. I might touch up once mid-day but that’s it. I use a flat top kabuki whose name has sadly rubbed off, or it’s a no name one from theconservatorie.com – see above – off the grid. Pity…

   I’d actually bought this a few years ago, but when I got it and saw the shade in person, I assumed it was too yellowy/grey/green to work and put it with my other unloved things that I couldn’t bear to toss just yet (because it might work with something else should I have a ‘mad scientist’ day). Recently I was digging through my stash – gotta shop that stash – pulled it out and gave it a go, and good thing too. I am also considering trying a sample of Manx. Even though Naughty Abyssinian is *so* close, Manx has a bit more peach to it and mixing the two might be near nirvana. I’m stubborn…and a perfectionist… and there are a few eye shadows I’m eyeing anyways. For the record, I’ve also tried a sample of 4-Fierce Chartreaux but that one was both too dark and too pink. (Whoo, more eyeshadow!)
   So use my disappointments to your advantage. If you’re in the range of NC30-35ish, give Naughty Abyssinian a shot, or at least try a sample. Unless you’re open to a huge jar of eye shadow.

   Pardon me now while I get to work on my collection of Slinky Abyssinian eye shadows. I’ll call them “Res-purrection from the Abyss”.. or “Abysmal Failure to Fur-tune”. Abysseeing you later…

   i’m an oily-skinned 30-something who’s tried for years to find a perfect powder foundation, but there’s a trifecta of issues i encounter: color-matching (pale yellow is always too yellow or peachy, pale neutrals are too peachy or pink, and pale cools are WAY too pink), acne (living that “everything is a breakout trigger” life), and oxidization (SO ORANGE. ORANGE FOREVER).

   after a couple weeks of flawless feline, i’m 92% sure i’ve found my endgame powder. admittedly, winter is the least challenging season for foundations and summer is going to be the real gauntlet, but considering its biggest flaw right now is that it’s TOO good at oil control, i have a feeling it’s going to handle the heat gracefully.

   pros:

   – color match! meow cosmetics offers something like 13 different undertones, with 4-7 shades per undertone. if you’re a difficult undertone match in mainstream foundation lines, chances are good you’re likely to at least come close to a good match here. i found my match in korat, a neutral beige without any hint of pink or peachiness, with a bit of extra yellow, something i’ve never been able to find anywhere else.

   – no oxidization! normally most foundations go orange on me; some will be stopped by primer, but a lot won’t. with this, i don’t even have to prep or prime, it just straight up doesn’t oxidize no matter how long i leave it on. no more uncomfortable orange face!

   – oil control! honestly, i feel a little TOO dry at the end of the day. where i might be shiny in 6 hours with a normal powder, i’m just at the “healthy glow” stage around the 10 hour mark with meow.

   – the finish, especially over a thin layer of liquid foundation, is amazing. i’ve been using it as a setting powder over one pump of revlon colorstay, and it’s the first time i’ve been able to achieve actual full coverage without looking cakey or like i’m wearing a papier mache mask.

   neutral:

   – the packaging is really inelegant, but that’s sort of expected when you’re shopping with an indie company who can’t afford to do a 100,000 piece run of bespoke glass jars. you’re paying a little more than drugstore price for packaging that’s a little worse, but keep in mind you’re ALSO paying a little more than drugstore price for a product that competes with mid/high-end. if you’re really concerned about aesthetics, depot into your favorite container and pretend it just came that way the whole time.

   – i can think of a lot of more descriptive but less kind words to use for the website, so for the sake of the review, i’ll go with “hot mess.” the website is a hot mess. again, i totally understand why an indie would be hesitant to take down a site that functions without issues and lose money in the time it takes to switch to a newer, prettier platform, but it is a pain to navigate.

   – my sample order arrived within a few days, but it took about a week for them to ship out my second order containing a munchkin size of korat plus some blush and highlighter samples. this is pretty much par for the course when you shop with indies (i’ve had to wait a month with some companies), but if you’ve never shopped indie before, you’re going to get agitated. this ain’t no amazon prime. meow cosmetics clearly states their turnaround time on their customer service page, and i found my orders took less time to get to me than the stated TAT both times.

   cons:

   – very slightly itchy if you use it on your bare skin. it doesn’t cause me physical skin irritation and the sensation goes away pretty quickly, but if you’re sensitive to face-feels or tend to develop rashes from irritation, you might want to stay away. however, i’ve had zero problems or itchiness just using it as a setting powder over liquid, so keep that in mind.

   – if you’re as blemishy and blotchy and unevenly skintoned as me, you know that any powder foundation that advertises as full coverage is going to be light-medium at absolute best. it’s the same thing here: if you use this powder on its own and you want full coverage, you’re going to have to layer it multiple tones, which is going to start to look noticeably powder after two layers. if you’re looking for medium coverage, you’re good to go, but if you’re buying full coverage for actual full coverage, you’re going to want to layer this over your liquid.

   caveats:

   – ORDER SAMPLES. order samples if you aren’t already matched to a meow color and order samples if you aren’t sure of your coverage. color matches do NOT carry over to other coverages, so if you’re a perfect 5 mau in full coverage and decide you want to switch, you are going to be SOL if you order a full size jar of 5 mau in light coverage and discover it doesn’t match. they don’t take returns and they aren’t as willing to bend over backwards like other indies, so don’t expect to get your money back if you order a mismatch and sheepishly ask for a refund.

   – this goes double for darker skinned women! meow tends to jump shades for darker skintones, so order a sample in the shade you think you are, plus one step lighter and one step darker. you may very well have to mix shades in order to get the right color for you.

   a year and a half later and i’m still totally in love. i finished the first munchkin-sized jar in about four months, and immediately ordered a full size, which i’m just finishing up. i live this foundation.

   So I got this in 2 Manx after much consideration from all the swatches I’ve tried out on my first buy, which were just endless bags of foundation.

   Shipping took 3 weeks or so to reach Singapore, inc 1 week of processing time which was decent enough, so no complaints on service.

   I had never really tried out any loose foundations before so this is my first try to loose mineral foundations, but the reason why I got this was because I found Sephora’s 8hr wear mattifying compact foundation this other day and 20 was exACTLY my shade so I ended up getting it. It contained bismuth oxychloride, which breaks my skin out like crazy. Thus began the quest for a powder foundation that won’t break my skin out. Meow cosmetics was somehow this highly raved indie company well known for their endless shades of color and amazing formulation, so I thought, why not? I was exploring more and more on indie makeup anyway.

   The thing is it wasn’t really my shade, which was my own mistake so hahaha I’ll just review on the formula itself, ignoring that it’s not my shade. I’ll get another one here that’s my shade again, which I suspect more to be a naughty angora now, or try out other companies as there are a few things I did not quite like with the formula, but the pros are really good.

   Pros:
   -Incredibly heavy coverage for a powder, little goes a long way
   -Gives off a really lustrous healthy glow that looks AMAzINg instead of a flat matte look
   -Incredibly affordable as compared to many brands in the market
   -Packaging is good and sturdy, product disperses through the sifter in a reasonable amount so I don’t take the sifter off like I do in many brands
   -Blends into the skin really well once set
   -Plenty of free shipping offers on site!
   -Huge selection of shades, take note that light shades are really light though so if you’re normally a 2 or 20 on other brands, meow offers your shade more in a 3 or 4.
   -Cat.

   Cons:
   -Somehow scratchy when first applied, but melts into skin
   -Careful not to apply too much product as it cakes up pretty easily
   -Waiting game for international buyers due to shipping (1st buy on huge amt of samples which took 3 weeks and another 3 weeks for the shade you think you are = 1.5 months worth a wait!)
   -Incredibly outdated web design. Pretty nice nostalgia on childhood when Neopets was a hit.

   Overall quite a good foundation, but there’s more to try out from this brand too. Their eyeshadows are amazing, I ended up getting a full size of buck naked after trying out a sample, it’s now my everyday eye color.

    Not really a fan of this or the company.

    It took the company 7 days to fulfill my order. They also require a $10 minimum purchase in addition to charging quite a bit on shipping- more than they actually need to spend to ship an item.
    Their samples were kind of chintzy. I have used Alima in the past and they will give you mini pots, but Meow just puts them in ziploc baggies. It seems petty but it affects how messy and functional the product is. I tried the flawless version of the foundation and found it really powdery. Believe me, there are mineral powders out there that melt into your skin. Much of it has to do with the milling process of the foundation. The finish on this left me powdery, with no coverage, and it clung to my dry skin.
    Also, regarding the milling process. I know that Meow sells these 3 oz, mega jars of foundation. I am sure they are less expensive than other brands, but because the foundation is not finally milled you will use much more to get the coverage of a higher quality foundation.
