The powder is so soft and blends easily. I think everyone complaining didn’t swatch before buying- 14 is warm toned, 16 is more of a cool/neutral tone, and tulle is translucent. This is a powder not a foundation so don’t cake it on.

Worst powder EVER. The color looks great in the compact, but once it goes on the skin, it turns orange!!!!! It doesn’t cover anything nor does it take away shine. Awful.

For the record, I absolutely cannot stand Tarina Tarantino’s packaging. It’s tacky, ugly, and looks cheap even though it’s far from cheap. What’s with the fake rhinestones and all that pink? I guess someone never grew up and is now living her princess fantasies. Tarina Tarantino’s packaging is far from my idea of cute. It’s hideous and I would be too embarrassed to pull out a compact to touch up. Thankfully, I’m much too lazy to carry makeup around and touch up in public.
Dollskin Powder is hardly “high-definition” but it’s not bad. It is nothing like the so-called HD setting powders currently available such as MUFE or MAC’s versions but it’s also not a heavy powder. As other reviewers have mentioned, the #5 shade looks like a nice light-medium shade in the pan but on the skin, it is very orange and was much too dark for my NC 20-ish skin. I couldn’t really tell inside the store so I went out in the bright sun and it was obvious that #2 was a better match, despite looking almost white in the pan.
I prefer a more satin-matte look to my skin since I think I can easily look greasy with dewy skin so I like the finish of Dollskin Powder when I dust it onto my skin after applying foundation. I’ve tried using a sponge and althogh it doesn’t offer much, if any coverage, the finish is too dry and makes me look overly made-up. Dollskin Powder seems to be marketed as a powder foundation. However, I think the coverage is much too sheer.
If I didn’t like the coverage and finish of Dollskin Powder over my liquid foundation, I would’ve tossed this powder. It doesn’t really do anything other than set my foundation nicely. I also use loose powder to set my foundation but I sometimes prefer the Dollskin Powder for days when I want my skin to look less matte. That said, this is not really HG material so I will not be repurchasing. I think I’ll get along just fine with my various assorted powders, none of which is packaged in hideous pink plastic and faux rhinestones.

I went into Sephora to look for some new foundation powder; and the sales girl pointed me in the direction of Tarina Tarantino’s new Dollskin Powder. She described it as being a “high-definition” powder, which made your skin look flawless while still letting your natural features shine through (aka, no caked on mess).
I have to say, all of that is UNTRUE!
I am fairly light skinned, so I got the colour No. 5 at the recommendation of the sales associate… When I got home and tried it on I thought the lighting was off in my bathroom, because it went on ORANGE. I removed the makeup and thought my brush was just dirty with leftover bronzer or something. Tried again, and got the same results.
Another con is that the makeup fades off in like minutes. So much for flawless!
Can’t store the sponge in the compact, even though the compact is fancy and cute. That’s about the only upside to this product – the packaging. But that alone is not worth $40-something bucks.
Returning today… never approaching this line again. Not impressed and it’s too expensive. All hype, no quality.

i got this in feather shade…
Overall review:
this is a really fab blush i’m pretty much in love with! the shade is very pigment and could last me throughout the day without touchup. And just a little is needed to create the all day radiant look, best use on busy days. Think i really need to invest in a blush brush as my mini BE brush kinda ruining the surfaces of the blush. I would consider getting other shades as it makes sure a bling collection!

I have NC35/40 medium tanned asian skin and had trouble deciding between Shade #14 and Shade #16. Both shades are very similar except #14 has more yellow undertones and shade #16 saves the step of applying bronzer, as it is a tad bit darker. I purchased this in #16 but would recommend #14 for NC35/40 skin.
Pros
-beautiful packaging; very compact and not bulky (fits in my Coach wristlet)
-very fine powder, not cakey
-nice sized mirror
Cons
-there is no place to put the sponge! what’s the point of having such pretty packaging if you can’t even apply the powder outside of home? (unless you want to carry a separate powder brush that will get the inside of your purse dirty)
-light coverage; the powder is too fine and barely covers (I prefer Maybelline dream matte to this)
-poor lasting power; within 3-4 hours the powder had completely faded and I looked like I was not wearing anything at all (I applied this with my EcoTools Kabuki brush)
-Pricey; this costs $42 CAD
This is a pretty compact but offers too little coverage for me. It is better suited as a blotting powder, more than a foundation powder.
Overall Tarina Tarantina products are a big disappointment after trying their eyeshadow, lipsticks, and powder. Would not repurchase.
Update – I ended up returning this a month later.

“The Dollskin Powder contains a micronization process that allows for controlled, buildable coverage, which ranges from sheer to full. It glides on and smoothes out the skintone, producing a flawless, even-looking complexion.”
This sounds great so when I saw this at my local Sephora I immediately bought this. I came home with the #5 shade which is the 2nd lightest shade they have. It was orange upon contact, like it oxidized right when it was applied so I thought the color was all wrong and exchanged it for the lightest color. Same thing happened, not only that but it was cakey as well, not at all flawless or even okay.
Despite what other people say, I do not like the packaging, looks like something tailored for teens, I prefer the sleek sophisticated compacts not pink with “hand placed” crystals. Too much bling bling and over hype, pass.
