I agree with the previous two reviewers, I am using the ‘promise’ which is for fair to medium skin with a neutral undertone.
I am slightly ruddy and had previously gone for the tester’ elegance’ which was a little too yellow for me, but using ‘promise’ is a lovely long lasting mineral powder that gives a decent coverage during the winter months, how it will be for the summer as I do get very ruddy I will see ( I will mix in the ‘ice’ setting powder if it is a little dark), but I think it will do well , I too have used the famous BE and other lily lolo foundations and they have been quite good, but this is one step up, this is lovely. You can buy the testers for concealers too so I have bought ‘innocent’ as a trial as it is a little paler.
It is half the price of the more famous brand (UK prices not USA), finely milled and nice fresh looking coverage. Would recommend.

I have found the mineral foundation for me! Covers my acne perfectly, but i do get a little shiny by the end of the day, like i always do.
Their kabuki is sooo soft and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin at all, and it’s very cheap. I recommend buying the mini-foundation kit, it contains (four) samples, which comes in great little containers with shifter and a brush. I found my color-match on my first try, I’ve never had a mineral foundation that truly could match my skin (honest), and I’ve tried a few.

Mineral foundation is the HG of people like me, who prefer not to slather their face in bizarre chemicals in the name of even, glowing skin. That said, I’m not afraid of scientific substances and chemicals, as I use ones of varying degrees of toxicity in my everyday life, so I am familiar with MSDS sheets. Google various liquid foundation ingredients and some of them may make you change your mind about whats being put on your face.
What makes mineral foundation not a HG is its sometimes tricky application. I have combination skin, erring on the side of dry and I find that dry mineral application can sometimes look cakey. I detail in my MUA notepad the sorts of results *I* get with my different methods, but this is why I like BFB’s foundation:
1. Manufactured in the UK
2. Not tested on animals, FCOD of 1980
3. Sample sizes available at a reasonable price in sifter jars. Full size is also good value. I bought my full size jar in August 09, its February ’10 and I still have the majority of the jar left and I wear foundation of some level nearly everyday
4. Wide colour range
5. Finely milled, with a slight shimmer which is not excessive but ‘dewy’ instead
6. Good customer service and quick postage
Coverage and finish vary with application method so I can’t review that specifically here, but as I said, its in my notepad!
